I love Jo Malone, favourite is the Basil and Mandarin and the Woodsage and seasalt, I do have a redcurrant and oak one I 'won' in one of their games.. its also nice but wouldn't buy it again .
Ok so here are the replacement Toast Japanese trousers and charcoal loop back sweater in smaller sizes. Horribly expensive but I am keeping anyway!! I reckon the xs trousers may be oos come sale time.. and I just love them ! Fab for my Portugal holiday coming up as well .

The Toast silk dress I won on ebay came ,also really lovely but the seller has mis described it, they said sz M/L and its an 8!!!Angry Effing disappointing, ill have to open a case.. it would fit if I had already the boob reduction I am considering

... Toast will have a sale soon now I have bought those trousers full price!! But they are fab, and a mid weight fabric

dontcallmelen · 04/09/2019 18:48

Soover you definitely definitely sound as though a few treats are well deserved, I’m truly sorry that your dd is so unwell, enjoy your new leather jacket💐
Laska what a pain with the eBay dress, looking fabulous & again if you really want something & you have the dosh go for it, lord knows not much going on at the moment that brings any joy.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/09/2019 19:56

Ah @laska you know you were pining for them. I agree with melen. You really wanted them and regretted not having them so they are yours!!!

ilovecherries · 04/09/2019 20:23

You look lovely, laska.

NEWSFLASH The size 8 cord girlfriend chinos actually fit. In fact there’s still a bit of room around the waist. It’s very pleasing but also baffling, there’s no way on earth I’m a size 8 (a 10 is sometimes a squeeze at the moment) it must be irritating for people who are actually a size 8!

So, now my annual hunt for the perfect knitwear begins. I’m hoping the DMs arrive tomorrow but if they’re not right I’m quite tempted by those Clark’s Orinoco spice.

Sooverthemill · 04/09/2019 20:52

taybert I have no idea what your style is but I got two truly lovely jumpers from hope last winter . I love the sizing and the quality is excellent. I think they will be ' forever' jumpers

Sooverthemill · 04/09/2019 20:58

Oh and buoyed up by my joy at being a friend I looked at Hush sale stuff and ordered a few things which will arrive tomorrow , a 'lucky' t shirt, the cropped relaxed trousers and a midnight blue Beatrice jumper. None essential but all rather nice and a bargain especially with free returns!

taybert · 04/09/2019 21:09

Thanks Soover, there’s nothing on there that strikes me at the moment but I’ll bear it in mind if the quality is good. The knitwear quest is genuinely an annual event, I’m not sure I ever feel as if it’s been successful though!

Ellapaella · 04/09/2019 21:10

@Laska2Meryls love the charcoal top. You look great, what shoes will you wear with the trousers?

Laska2Meryls · 04/09/2019 21:26

My trusty Chester trainers I think Ella or the Hush white leather ones I got in the summer
Toast have them modelled with these though (but I dont really like canvas trainers)

Laska2Meryls · 04/09/2019 21:28

.. I am mad paying so much for those trousers though... £115!! Shock..
they will be £40in the sale, I bet

Laska2Meryls · 04/09/2019 21:38

....actually maybe these Hush trainers (I have these hardy worn! Blush)

Heyyy all 🌷🌷

Just placemarking; sorry I never replied to the hellos from a few of you last time I popped in but I ended up having a manic couple of days with my daughter in hospital and then I felt silly coming back and saying hello to the hellos a few days later...

Still having to stay away from the thread mainly because I really need to save towards expenses later on in the year. But I think I spied that Ella is on a no-spend for this month so at least I have one ally to sit with me on the bench.

I did just buy a pre-loved Burberry wool scarf but that’s pretty much the only thing I can stretch to this month. Missed out on a lovely vintage Georg Jensen silver brooch on eBay earlier tonight, I’m gutted about that as it was beautiful and would have been perfect for A/W, and I missed out by a measly pound! Never mind.

Hope you all are well. Cherries I think the Chanel-style jacket is the nicer one by far and looks fab on you, and I think you could find another jacket like the long one quite easily. So I vote short!

Ninkaninus · 04/09/2019 22:06

Laska I love the trousers! Such a great colour, too.

Ellapaella · 04/09/2019 22:58

@Ninkaninus right there with you on the bench. Hope your daughter is ok? Nice to see you back on the thread.

Ninkaninus · 05/09/2019 07:41

Ella she is fine now, thank you for asking. Diabetes related, so although it wasn’t urgent, it can get bad quite quickly. She is an adult now, but still my baby when she’s ill and I always try to stay with her in hospital as she doesn’t like it.

Sooverthemill · 05/09/2019 07:50

taybert yes the sale stuff isn't especially inspiring but the winter offerings are usually very good. I bought a beautiful cashmere mix funnel neck jumper (Black) and a kind of side knitted cashmere mix ivory boat neck last year. Definitely worth a look for a classic item. I found them via browsing midlifechic a couple of years ago. I like their sizing which isn't traditional 8-16

twosoups1972 · 05/09/2019 07:52

Lovely trousers and jumper @Laska2Meryls looks great.

@ninka nice to see you back and hope your dd is ok.

I’ve bought a few things from Hush which I’ll report back about later.

@Ellapaella is it you who is doing the Oxfam no buy September? I saw the ad on tv, such a good idea. Is hard though!

twosoups1972 · 05/09/2019 07:56

In other news, dd1 has finally been persuaded not to do 2 more A levels she doesn’t need, and instead to have a fulfilling gap year. I just hope she’s not too late to apply for something. Some of these gap ‘experiences’ cost a lot of money! She would rather work and earn a bit of money or at least do some voluntary work. She and I are going to do some research later. Has anyone’s dc has a gap year recently?

Laska2Meryls · 05/09/2019 08:03

just to let you know Boden have 20% extra off all their sale stuff (and full price) . Ends today U5H4. I just picked up a couple of their linen shirts at really silly prices and some cropped chinos in a rusty colour

ilovecherries · 05/09/2019 08:09

My dad got a place on the international citizens scheme at 18, soups. You can do it via a number of organisations, she did hers with Raleigh International. She applied around now, had selection/training/fundraising till early Jan, then was abroad till late April. She worked a a public health initiative using drama to communicate health messages, but there was all sorts of things she could have done. She also worked in the US for 3 months with the Girl Guide Association, working as a climbing instructor. She did that after the International Citizen thing, but it was all in place before she went as she was only home 10 days in between, so she must have applied for that in the Autumn as well. I missed her terribly (and worried constantly about her health) but that year was the making of her.

@twosoups1972 yes it's me doing the Oxfam 'nothing new September' pledge. I've had to get work shoes as there was an unfortunate incident involving my current ones last week (I'll leave it to your imagination) so I'm having to wear my black crocs at work (😱) and I got told off yesterday after bumping into Matron - crocs are not allowed. So they are essential obviously but apart from work shoes there will be no more spends for me this September. It feels quite liberating!

Ninkaninus · 05/09/2019 08:25

Ella you have the red Aurora Gigi bag, don’t you? Did you get the Ferrari red or the darker red?
