*Uniqlo
You all know what I mean Grin

Ellapaella · 05/09/2019 22:11

And now I'll go away and leave you all alone 😁 I'm watching the ten o clock news and it's utterly depressing.

neveradullmoment99 · 05/09/2019 23:00

Well I haven't ordered the brogues ..yet! But they are on my wish list as they are gorgeous. Nice to see you back on @soyo.

I just love cord. I will probably purchase the crop trousers...

neveradullmoment99 · 05/09/2019 23:00

I had a little giggle about the Uniqlo picture. Absolutely awful styling, agreed!

justilou1 · 05/09/2019 23:45

@Ellapaella - totally agree... UNIQLO is totally on glue this year with their styling. Especially their summer dresses. WHY are they all made out of thick, synthetic fabrics? Bizarre. Normally great for T-shirt dresses, etc. HOWEVER, I happen to have those corduroy crops in mustard. You lot rather liked them, but I am significantly shorter than the model in the photo and wore them NOT with baggy beige jumpers.
Also not keen on brown sheets. The orange is 70’s enough. Now it’s dry, it’s not QUITE as terrifying as I thought, but still VERY bright! I am threatening to go full hippy and get rainbow cushions, but husband will move out. If the green duvet covers look terribly awful with the orange, maybe I will dye THEM charcoal. I think that will work better with the orange and dye nicely.

Ellapaella · 06/09/2019 06:38

Nothing wrong with the crop uniqlo trousers Lou - it's just the way they have styled them is rather suspect! Wink

Ellapaella · 06/09/2019 06:39

Am finding your sheet saga quite amusing (sorry) - I say step away from the Dylon Grin

Laska2Meryls · 06/09/2019 07:54

Ella aaargh! I love those Poetry trousers much more than the Hush ones!! . ( Im erring back on the sending them back side again.. as thinking about when I would actually wear then given that I am leaving work soon) ..

News is indeed mad/crap ...

Im on early ferry ( for me) off to DF for the day.. wearing all Hush:- olive Chamonix, khaki vest and coral raw linen top over and trusty Chester trainers ( don't know what ill do when they wear out) . ..and khaki scarf... ( Not Hush).

neveradullmoment99 · 06/09/2019 09:32

If you are not happy with them @Laska, send them back. Tbh you are saying you are wearing your chinos and they are crops. So what's the difference? If you don't think you will wear in deep winter then they could easily be worn in spring and Autumn for a time. I tried on a check pair that I bought from Tesco with socks and my brogues and I liked the look!

Laska2Meryls · 06/09/2019 10:24

I dunno really, I suppose its the fabric ,....
Something about it I don't really like, its not really soft, ( washing might help ) but they just don't feel quite right .. Ill think on..

Laska2Meryls · 06/09/2019 10:29

Idlike to trythe Poetry ones in ginger, though.. But they are expensive.. so could do with a referral code if anyone has one? .. Have you seen these lace ups Never?😍

Sooverthemill · 06/09/2019 11:40

ellapella I hate You! I had stopped all my Poetry emails and catalogues but stupidly I clicked on that link! Now I want all the shoes and those cords and I do not need them

Sooverthemill · 06/09/2019 11:41

laska these would be perfect with wide legged cropped trousers.

neveradullmoment99 · 06/09/2019 11:54

They are lovely @laska but I ordered the tiered dress from toast - the cord one in navy. Should come tomorrow! So no more spends for me. Wearing the lovely deep burgundy shirt dress today with tights and black trainers. Wanted to wear but wanted to dress it down.

neveradullmoment99 · 06/09/2019 11:57

They look great for crops @Sooverthemill

@Laska2Meryls if they don't feel right return. I think cord can be quite rigid. You need a soft cord. M&S are doing a pair of crops. One in a kind of rusty colour and the other in navy for £38. Both are cord. They are getting good reviews.

neveradullmoment99 · 06/09/2019 11:58

I ordered a pair in the sale from toast last year. Didn't keep them but they were a jumbo cord and they were soooo soft. They were too neat for me around the waist and the length was just too long on me for crops.

neveradullmoment99 · 06/09/2019 12:01

I tried on the crops I bought from tescos. They were only £18 and a really nice fit although I find Tesco cuts their trousers for those with a very slim waist. I have frequently had this problem. They are quite neat but a few pounds off should sort that and they are wearable atm. However shoes pose two problems with them. They are fairly pale, so dark socks look ok but looking at them I am inclined to wear long knee high tights under them and my clark hamble oak in oxblood. [I have had them for a number of years now]

neveradullmoment99 · 06/09/2019 12:03

Oh and the other problem is that they are crops and tricky to pair with footwear in winter.

Ellapaella · 06/09/2019 12:03

I had a pair of cords from TopShop last year in forest green but sent them back in the end as I never wore them. Mine were more of a tapered leg - I think I want a wider leg really. Will be trying some once September is over!

dontcallmelen · 06/09/2019 12:20

I dunno, I think sometimes if it’s becoming to much of a conundrum figuring out how to style clothing then it could be more trouble than its worth? Sometimes stuff just look better seasonally rather than all year round, I could be coming at this from the wrong angle though as I do like the cropped trousers look, but I’m just way to short for them to look right on me.

SoyYo · 06/09/2019 12:21

Thank you for all the welcome backs 🤗
justi listen to me get some bright pink pillow cases and a throw to go on top of your orange sheets, it’ll be fabulous!

Will check out the links in a mo, you have been busy!! Grin

So today was the first day post surgery that I could actually have a full body shower rather than mingy spot washing and the relief!!! OMG
And decided to wear my dress that I bought on the sale and is now taken up to celebrate in cosmic fashion (it’s got lots of planets and astro signs printed on it, can’t remember dress name now) to make myself feel normal again. It is a bit of a faff getting dressed and undressed at the mo so having opened my Hush parcel I’ll leave the other bits to try later (though by the sound of soups verdict the v neck wide green top may be going back).
Anyway I digress I am definitely definetely keeping the Tuxedo jacket.
It is perfect and sooo flattering as well as lovely quality. I just threw it on with the dress to show you but would look tons better with black skinnies and a rocknroll T shirt.
I’m pleased with it. Hope you like!
Forgive pants selfie skills Hmm

Soy yeahy for showers, love love the jacket & the dress sits on hands switches off internet, so I don’t order the tux jacket.

SoyYo · 06/09/2019 12:33

Thank you len it’s a perfect fit in a 12, not too lose or tight and amazingly doesn’t swamp me. It’s got fabric covered buttons to match the shinier tux lapels (which are not shiny, but satin). It’s perfect honestly and I can see it’ll be a classic for years to come.
Btw much as I love the cropped trouser look I’m with you! I’m too short to carry it off well. I can do proper wide leg culottes but that in between not to wide not to fitted trouser shape on us shorties is a real challenge so I shall admire the look but will not go for it sadly.
Wide legs that go all the way down are perfectly good though too so we have other options!

dontcallmelen · 06/09/2019 12:48

Soy yes I can get away with full length wide trousers/jeans, ooh jacket sounds really well finished👍🏼
