And just in case anyone was feeling left out...

Kate is due to open a new children’s play area at RHS Wisley on 10th September.
I presume she will wear trousers if she is going to climb up into it, maybe with a floral print top?

She’ll wear something green.

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/09/2019 07:25

@Clankboing I think that was the headteacher rather than George's class teacher? But agree that dress would not last long in a class full of reception kids!

I thought either of these outfits were a good bet for today but I'm now leaning towards a more casual Kate in skinnies, Breton and blazer instead.

I was thinking that too. With navy suede lowish heels or her trusty wedges with a rope sole!

William; blindfolded will be chinos, blue shirt, navy jacket ( brown suede shoes?)

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/09/2019 08:10

If William shows up blindfolded then that will be a first @CurlyWurlyTwirly!!!

Do you think Kate gets given her clothes or are they loaned? Just musing because if she rarely wears anything more than a few times she must have hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of clothes just stored away that will never see the light of day again. Seems horribly wasteful, doesn't it?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 04/09/2019 08:20

I hope Kate doesn't invest too heavily in that skirt length, it's terribly unflattering on her.

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/09/2019 08:21

Apparently the royals aren't allowed to accept freebies @Strawberrycreamsundae. I always wonder about where they store their clothes - does Kate have a wardrobe like Cher from Clueless? And what about the clothes HM's amassed over 70 years? They'd fill an entire palace! Has she kept what she wore in her younger years or has she discreetly given them away?

I agree about Harry's hair looking frizzy and his clothes are all a bit samey. He seems wedded to the same suit. I also think he looks unhappy much of the time.

Re the post about Meghan's 'brand'. i think she was sold a line by Harry and she's now thinking she's going to make it happen. She thinks that she and Harry can branch out and use the RF money and status to create her own 'company' in my view. The emphasis is on the US and the US market. I think as time goes on they will split increasingly from the RF and become a bit David and Walis Simpson like. There are all sorts of inherent problems with that and it won't do the image of the RF any favours at all. They will use their celebrity contacts to raise their profile.

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/09/2019 08:23

But that's also a blind item @lavenderandthyme so it might be as true as the blind about William's affair or Maxima helping Masako escape from her abusive husband...

OP posts:
lavenderandthyme · 04/09/2019 08:26

Yes of course, but it's what I think is happening all the same. My opinion obviously.

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/09/2019 08:30

I wonder what happened to the story about Meghan writing a children's book about a rescue dog?

Agreed; it looks really Matronly.
I’d love her to wear dresses like Letizia’s Navy one from the other day. Kate has fantastic legs and a flash of thigh would give the pearl clutchers palpitations!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 04/09/2019 09:03

I’m pretty sure that’s the headteacher in the photo. George’s teacher doesn’t look like that

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 04/09/2019 09:09

I've said numerous times before, H&M will move abroad. Their style is very American and just isn't working for them here. I do hate the vitriol directed towards them but I also think some of the criticism is justified, especially in respect of their preachiness. They have the drive and will to do good works, but a hefty dose of humility wouldn't go amiss.

I think the British public might find they actually quite like them from a distance.

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/09/2019 09:48

Didn't George's teacher marry a friend of W&K's?

OP posts:
ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 04/09/2019 09:53

Don’t think the will move.

They are top of the food chain here and his USP is very limited to ‘just’ being Royal. He will lose that quickly when he stops being an integral part of the family.

Over there they will be interesting for a bit and then that will fade.

queenofarles · 04/09/2019 09:56

some first day of school for royals I think Diana’s clothes are still memorable , the rest look so dated.CPM of Denmark wore louboutin on Isabella’s first day of school Grin

BertrandRussell · 04/09/2019 10:03

“Their style is very American”

In what way? Specifically?

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 04/09/2019 10:07

Thanks @queenofarles
Those little princes and princesses look so cute and tiny!

Diana did love a jumper with a belt. With the whole retro 80s thing going on; I think that would actually suit Kate!

BertrandRussell · 04/09/2019 10:08

Poor old Charles, being frogmarched into Gordonstoun.....

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/09/2019 10:19

I really felt for poor little Charles in that episode of The Crown where he was sent to Gordonstoun. I mean, I know it was just a tv drama but he's on record as saying he hated it.

The Japanese Emperor Emeritus and Empress Emerita ( what cool titles!) look so relaxed. They should definitely be allowed to retire.
I suspect this current generation of royals; Elizabeth II, Margarethe of Denmark, Carl Gustav of Sweden and Olav of Norway will be the last who reign till they die. ( Unless all except HM are waiting till all the direct line grandchildren are adults)
