I suspect that when he talks about safety he isn't saying commercial airlines are dangerous, he's talking about the death threats he and Meghan have received.

An interesting take on the word “occasionally”.

queenofarles · 03/09/2019 13:45

Please point these out Queen?
Did ISIS threaten them?
Shouldn’t the threat be to Charles of William? William just flew flybe.

I would have a bit of respect for him if he just came out and said , we were offered private jets and took the offer for the convenience.

Strawberrycreamsundae · 03/09/2019 13:45

The more PH talks the more he confirms that he's a privileged, hypocritical prat.
Just who is he trying to impress? Definitely not me nor many others I suspect.

BertrandRussell · 03/09/2019 13:48

I thought we had been told about credible death threats?

DobbyTheHouseElk · 03/09/2019 13:49

I think if MM is with him they take private jet. If it’s him on his own, he will fly commercial.

He is coming across as a bit of a knob recently. TBH.

BertrandRussell · 03/09/2019 13:49

“ William just flew flybe”
On this occasion. What about all the other occasions when he used private jets?

QueenOfTheAndals · 03/09/2019 13:50

There was this one https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-48672929 plus this one https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/feb/22/white-powder-letter-prince-harry-meghan-markle-anthrax-scare a couple of years ago.

I'm not sure if anyone has been jailed for threatening other members of the royal family recently,

What- 1:100? That looks pretty occasional to me!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 03/09/2019 13:51

William and George flew together on a commercial airline, so it can’t be about safety. I’d imagine PW knows about air safety.

queenofarles · 03/09/2019 13:56

I remember reading about the powered envelope, but Sorry Queen that has nothing to do with Private/commercial flying. No one would have known they would be flying on a particular ,airline. How would anyone be able to smuggle anything past airport security now days.

QueenOfTheAndals · 03/09/2019 13:59

I was referring more to the other story. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with flying but knowing that neo-Nazis put a call out to have them killed might make them ultra paranoid, especially with a baby.

justasking111 · 03/09/2019 14:05

If they are a flight risk on a commercial jet then say well you really do not want royalty on your flight to Nice because you might die as a result of my presence. That would do it for me.

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 03/09/2019 14:14

I thought there was a rule where the current heir and future heir couldn’t travel together. It would apply more to Charles and William than William and George.

QueenOfTheAndals · 03/09/2019 14:18

I don't know if that was ever an actual rule or just a myth. Did Charles and Diana travel with William and Harry on the same plane when they were young?

OP posts:
itswinetime · 03/09/2019 14:24

Are we back to private jets again the royals really need to get back to work. 😉

Harry does take commercial as does William they have both been seen before. They also both fly private to! I'm not sure on the ratio but I think Harry may have been silly to give a percentage as now the press will be determined to prove him wrong!

What makes the difference in how they fly I doubt we will ever know? I don't think it's fair to blame Meghan she would be used to flying commercial! Archie is the more likely the reason who wouldn't rather be on a private jet with a newborn! Maybe it is all security led but that sounds a bit like an excuse to me!

Harry is obviously trying to defend himself and his decisions I think it was a bit clumsy and I think he is still missing the point. Multiple private flights to luxury holidays of the back of comments (however off the cuff) that made people feel he was preaching. If it wasn't safe he didn't need to go. Simple as that.

I think Harry's always been a bit more open and defended himself when questioned I wonder if this time he may have been better with the old don't complain and don't explain style of press management!

My background is non white,I’m half Persian.
should I be worried of any hate/race crime?

I don't know @queenofarles, have neo-Nazis been jailed for threatening you personally?

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 03/09/2019 14:30

Actually we missed a Max and Wax outing last week. I'm not keen on her skirt but the hat and colour coordination are as Max as ever!

queenofarles · 03/09/2019 14:33

They didn’t only threaten them Queen they threatened all white going out with non white and Jews.

frugalkitty · 03/09/2019 14:35

Oh Harry. As soon as I read the headline I knew he'd be in for it (generally, I don't mean on here necessarily). It's definitely coming across as 'do as I say, not as I do' and I felt myself bristle a bit at the implication (intended or not) that his family is worth more than everyone else's which is my interpretation of what I read, others might have a different one. I'm all for keeping the royal family but he really isn't doing their PR any favours at the moment.

justasking111 · 03/09/2019 14:38

We may see a frock on Thursday when Charlotte starts school, otherwise we shall have to wait until they start work again.

itswinetime · 03/09/2019 14:49

Judging by George's first day and the general tone of the media I'm not sure we will see a proper frock. My prediction is it will be 'low key' (for Kate anyway) something that is less formal than full on royal visit but more than normal school run. More than likely at least part of it will be a rewear. That's my prediction anyway!

QueenOfTheAndals · 03/09/2019 14:53

I know they did @queenofarles but maybe he's being extra paranoid because he was named, who knows? Or maybe he's just the most self-unaware man on the planet. I agree it's not the right time to launch this travel initiative though.
