Jeremy Corbyn got cash out next to me at a cash point once. Not quite as glamorous as Johnny Depp...

Prefer to see him than BJ any day.....

BertrandRussell · 29/08/2019 11:21

I much prefer the idea of them having pockets full of ducats......

BertrandRussell · 29/08/2019 11:23

@QueenOfTheAndals did he have a purse? I imagine him with a very worn leather purse.....

QueenOfTheAndals · 29/08/2019 11:29

You know, I think he did! Another time I saw him heading home from his local cash and carry - he'd brought his own bags, natch...

irrelevant I know but my son was telling me yesterday that JC has £3mill in assets ..I was surprised .

Daisypie · 29/08/2019 11:54

Love Victoria's water dress.

QueenOfTheAndals · 29/08/2019 11:55

Not sure if it's assets or just what he's worth - after 30 years as an MP he's probably drawn a fair salary. He doesn't live in a particularly upmarket area of London but the value of his house has probably increased considerably since he bought it.

I once almost bumped into CPV when I turned a corner in Uppsala when she was a student there.

The water dress grows on you, the pattern almost moves!

Becles · 29/08/2019 13:37

All hail @banivani for your sterling efforts to keep us on the light and fluffy paths. 👸🏽👸🏻👑👗🛍

banivani · 29/08/2019 14:20

Thank you Becles - I tread a fine line since I don't want it to be too obvious I find the UK-centric gossip a little tedious less interesting. Wink

I'm in it for the dresses, me.

Elllllle · 29/08/2019 14:22

^ yes to banivani .... and yawn at the repetitive gossip.

The photos of The First Wing entrance remind me of the entrance to the loos at my local Walmart. I could rewrite the blurb accordingly:
Customers are invited to enter The Restrooms through a rectangular steel and blue-painted drywall enclosure, with the centrepiece carrying the iconic Walmart lettering indicating Men's and Women's, with wheelchair symbol included for both. At the entrance, water fountains are at different heights to offer the highest standards of reachability. Hannah Carter Owers, says: “This is designed to be a seamless, intuitive and dedicated facility so that our valued customers can shop in supreme comfort afterwards, and to ensure there is no excuse for liberating drinks from the shelves as they shop”

The First Wing is such an odd name. One wing on its own is ridiculous.

The lighting is harsh and the overall look is post industrial and very uncomfortable.

mathanxiety · 29/08/2019 18:38

That saffron dress on CPV looks terrific from the side. Lovely colour on her.

I suspect if she wore her hair down it would suit the flowy look better and improve the front view.

StCharlotte · 29/08/2019 20:07

Yes, I really wish CPV would soften her look. I keep imagining how excruciating it must be when she lets it down.

It's a no from me to the yellow frock.

banivani · 29/08/2019 21:08

I think she’s wearing her hair structured as a) a crown substitute, b) a sort of work uniform c) to put distance between herself and her youth when she was very unhappy and suffered with eating disorders. Or possibly she just hated having it in her face. I wouldn’t mind betting I’m not far off with b) though, and b) is related to a).

Found the blog of a Swedish style journo who does a lot of royal reporting (on the dresses from the Nobel prize dinner for example) and she has a category of royal posts. But I think seen most of the pictures. Here’s a collection of CPV coats, from celebrating her namesday in March over a number of years ebbavonsydow.com/2019/03/11/imorgon-ar-det-dags/

EmGee · 29/08/2019 21:22

I quite like the gossip (hangs head in shame) but I'm not fussy where it comes from (Swedish royals, Danish, British...!!)

EmGee · 29/08/2019 21:26

Re CPV hair. I reckon it's for practical reasons. It doesn't blow in her face, she hasn't got to constantly push it behind her ears, it is securely in place and she can concentrate on the job in hand without worrying if the weather blows it out of place/makes it windswept etc

banivani · 29/08/2019 21:27

I don’t mind the gossip that much but I don’t want to be having to scroll too much between dresses now. 😉

paradyning · 29/08/2019 21:27

I have a theory about CPV's hair. Maybe it a style of hair that she can do herself without a hairdresser in attendance every day.

CPM jn a lovely black dress. But looking creepily like SWF Marie in the first picture

justasking111 · 29/08/2019 22:42

When MM started royal duties on a windy her hair was blowing all over the place. You never see that now. I wonder if the royals get the weather forecast see windy day and style their hair accordingly.

The Queen never grew her hair long, perhaps that is why.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 29/08/2019 23:22

Love CPV's taste in boots, they look expensive, flattering and comfy, my three favourite things!

Spudlet · 30/08/2019 08:42

Love CPV’s boots in that link, Bani! Also the small child in the teeny tiny snow boots and the bobble hat - naww. V cute. (No clue of the names of their children Blush)

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/08/2019 08:50

Her daughter is Estelle, she'll be queen after CPV. She seems an amazing kid - always switched on and engaged and never looks bored, even at what must be the fullest of occasions!

I've used the First Wing once - it was fabulous to go from walking through the doors to Terminal 5, to being seated in the lounge with a glass of champagne 10 minutes later.

Sadly, it may well ever happen again! Grin
