Can you help me accessorise this Toast dress for a wedding?

Just 3 weeks until my sister's wedding and I have this morning found the dress for me. Waking up in a panic can end! However, I'd love a bit of help to find the bits and pieces to go with it, if anyone feels inspired?

So, background - its my little sister's wedding, mid September at a rather cool central London venue. Wear what you please, but I'm giving a reading and we lost our (very chic) Mum just a year ago, so I want to look my best for my sister on what's going to be a very bittersweet day.
Me, I'm nowhere near as waify as the model below (16) and a bit of a scruff in real life, whereas my sister is skinny and groomed. I'm short too (5'2") and have shoulder length dark curly hair. At the moment, I can't think beyond it being an excuse to get a new pair of Birks.
Here's the dress - looks much nicer in real life, didn't look at it twice on the website, but I feel fabulous in it (and I bought it in a 14!)

Have to agree the esska shoes are not pretty.

But the insect bag! I'll be getting this for my birthday and ordered the blue bee clutch for my friend for Christmas

Slurpy - I saw these Next shoes this morning and thought of you. No idea what quality they are like, and only saw them from a distance, but they did look as if they might work colour-wise and be quite comfortable. I still think tan heeled boots, or a reddish brown heeled boot would get you more bang for your buck though!

BubblesBuddy · 24/08/2019 15:45

Russell and Bromley have dress flats. Wearable and classy! Boden have lower heeled sling backs and lovely stylish shoe boots which are great. Wearing orange or the Esska shoes is not stylish. Look at Hostie Hats for ultimate style. Navy shoes and bag would work. Yes to rose gold jewellery!

Also I've just remembered Mac Chilli lipstick, which is a nice, quite subtle, paprika colour and might work if orange feels too out there (and it definitely would to me!).

Love these boots

And these

What about a orange hairband or hair accessories ?

MsRinky · 24/08/2019 17:07

Oh god, I love that dress, and am now having to convince myself not to buy one for myself. I already have orange peeptoe clogs which I am certain would go perfectly. Must resist. Hope you have a wonderful time at the wedding.

Annasgirl · 24/08/2019 17:57

Oh OP, I was away so only saw your pic and the dress is fab on you. I also love the orange bag.

Hope you get it sorted and have a wonderful day.

Nowisthemonthofmaying · 25/08/2019 10:46

MAC Morange is my favourite orange lipstick which I wear all the time in winter - it's a fabulous matte colour. If I were you I'd go with the make-up artist though as she will be able to find something to suit your colouring.

Let us know if you have any luck with the accessories!

Elllllle · 25/08/2019 10:53

The thing with makeup artists I've found is that they struggle with lip colour beyond a neutral MLBB colour. Or they use a fab shade that wears off within the hour (and forget to give you a bit to top up). I personally always bring my own lippies.

Slurpy · 29/08/2019 00:25

Apologies for being absent for a few days. I got the orange insect bag! She very kindly made an orange and a navy version for me to choose between, but orange looked best (but I bought a navy purse anyway). They're so beautifully made.
So, I'm off to the big city tomorrow armed with a list of lipsticks, accessories and shoes (thank you all!). Orange shoes are definitely out of the equation now. Will update after tomorrow's shopping trip.

That insect bag is lovely. As is the blue one! My dress has arrived and I'm really pleased with it! Planning on wearying it out tomorrow night.

Almahart · 29/08/2019 07:08

The orange insect bag is fabulous with the dress!

Apolloanddaphne · 29/08/2019 07:17

I love that insect bag.

Daisypie · 29/08/2019 07:24

Love the bag. It absolutely speaks to the quirky and delicate fabric of the dress. OP I hope you and your sister have a wonderful day. X

Slurpy · 29/08/2019 09:01

@hopeishere - I'm so glad you like the dress. Enjoy your night out!

Love the dress - I would wear ankle boots with it - a pair with a chunky heel and a narrow ankle. I think slip on pumps will look dowdy.
Here's a couple of ideas - the boots are a bit too high - I have seen others around but can't remember where now.
