Sorry, just had a question after BertrandRussel posted about the Elton's offsetting.

Happy to take this to the other threads, but disagree it's a RF bashing.

The flight being off set is good of course! It does make me wonder though are all royal flights not offset in some way? The amount they fly I would hope even if not getting to neutral they are doing something about offsetting their footprint?

I'm sure the papers will hash out over the next day about if you can really be carbon neutral or if it wouldn't still be better to not take the flight at all I have no idea the ins and outs but surely offsetting is at least a start?

Im not so on board with them (or any royals) 'needing a break' or however Elton worded it none of them are exactly over worked! But who would turn down an all expenses paid trip to a luxury villa so that maybe sour grapes on my part for not knowing anyone willing to whisk me away

However if I was working for Harry and Meghan (or any of the royals to be fair) my advice would be if your going to speak on a cause then you are going to be put under the microscope about that issue and just paying for the problem to go away (which most people can't do) won't help public perception. I imagine they would tell me the press would just pick on something else instead probably completely ridiculous like how someone holds a baby and at least this has got everyone talking about carbon footprints and offsetting 🤷🏻‍♀️
