Previous thread. I think we'll be a bit short of royal outfits as they're all off on their holidays atm. But Kate's regatta is coming up next week, hence the thread title!

Same rules as always - keep it light, critique the clothes rather than the women, and don't believe anything printed in the Daily Mail Grin

Nah people who are speculating the photographers were doing it are reaching. Firstly, Harry was waaaaay younger. He was tiny, 2ish. He was also more pulling a funny face, like a chimpanzee. He didn't know what he was even doing.

Secondly the press were much further away on this occasion. And there was no suggestion of impropriety.

It was just a kid being cheeky. Simples.

Some families think the tongue thing is cute though. On another thread a poster said she and her young niece always greeted each other this way and she thought it was a great little tradition between them. Each to their own I guess.

There was some suggestion that it was her Dad she was doing it too. And it was a "thing" between them also.

Personally I think it's pretty gross to teach your kids that it's a cute thing, but I recognise every family is different and some people do think it's totally fine, borderline adorable. Clearly the Cambridges do.

Well in an unexpected turn of events, none other than Enda Kenny, former Irish Taoiseach (PM) was on the winning King’s Cup regatta team with Bear Grylls. An unlikely pairing 😂. I had a WTF moment when I saw it on the news last night. DH was Hmm at my deep knowledge of who was in attendance...

Enda also was at that Polo thing Meghan was at last summer before she got pregnant. He presented the cup to her or something.

Enda lives a really cool life post-government.

I suspect there are few people so liberated that ex-Leaders who are still young enough to enjoy their freedom.

I always had a lot of time for Enda. He got in huge hot water with the Vatican for having the audacity to use the word "rape" rather than the traditional "child abuse". I've been a bit of an Enda apologist since then.

Why are people jumping in saying she possibly spotted Fergie in the crowd and all such rubbish?

It’s a curiously “Mumsnet” thing, to grasp at straws so tiny they’re almost microscopic Grin

I mean, was Fergie even there? Is she especially close to William’s children? Someone I kind of doubt it.

Love the Leti retrospective - thanks for posting @QueenOfTheAndals. I agree that she looks amazing in red. She really knows how to turn on the glamour.

Here's CPM and family on another stop of their summer yacht tour. I see Kate's not the only royal to brave shorts! I would if I had their legs. Not keen on the blouse I'm afraid - too fussy.

Seeing she was invited to their wedding, I strongly doubt it too.

Kate’s legs are very strong. There are photos of Diana leaving the gym and her legs were similar. The hundreds and thousands of hours some members of the RF must exercise. It obviously pays off! Although I sincerely hope Meghan doesn’t feel the need to follow in their footsteps!

I don’t think the Susses’s putting up an Ista post takes the limelight from the Cambridge’s. And I expect this will happen more often now as the two households are run separately and will not be coordinated anymore.

Sarah Chatto’s skirt is gorgeous.

I’ve noticed in many photographs that Leti is always photographed beside Leonor. When Queen Sofia is with them, she is also photographed beside Leonor. I understand it to some extent at official events but it happens a lot. I have two younger children and I automatically stand beside the youngest. However when they have outgrown the handholding, I hope I won’t stand beside one over the other. I’ve read in Spanish news that Leti craves the limelight. I wonder if they grapple over the ‘most important’ daughter? I hope not for the sake of the younger one.

Now as Queen rightly points out let's move on.

I've been reading Queen Victoria's Granddaughter's 1860 - 1918 by Christina Croft. It's a fascinating read which I recommend.
Queen Victoria would spend the summer between Balmoral & Osbourne House on the IOW.
QV loved Osbourne House (which had been designed by Prince Albert) & the granddaughters loved spending the holidays there with her.
Unfortunately King Edward VII wasn't as enamoured with Osbourne & donated it to the nation.

I wonder if Fergie ever repaid the loan she received from Epstein ? She is on record for admitting it was a huge mistake on her part .
