I've lost count of how many threads we've had! Previous thread.

Let's keep the gossip lighthearted and, as always, stick to critiquing the clothes rather than being overly critical about the women wearing them.

Oh sorry,it’s actually *114 jets,

Stravapalava · 01/08/2019 10:41

Lol ridiculous!

Charlene is so beautiful.

ElspethFlashman · 01/08/2019 11:18

Harry is getting up there with George Clooney in terms of people who live like little Emperors whilst lecturing people poorer than they are.

Laiste · 01/08/2019 11:20

@ElspethFlashman - nodding in agreement here.

Do as i say, not as i do. ect

Labrodite · 01/08/2019 12:13

114 private jets for only a three day event! And it’s meant to be focused largely on discussing climate change! Absolutely shocking....

justasking111 · 01/08/2019 13:42

@Labrodite they do not get the irony do they Grin

hopeishere · 01/08/2019 14:24

I see the DM also has a piece about Sophie mentoring Meghan.

The thing is Sophie is a quiet workhorse. I don't think Meghan envisages the same role for herself.

Too true

I agree, the irony is staring everyone in the face - if you are serious, stop with the luxury lifestyle and really make some sacrifices.

FiveTwoFaster · 01/08/2019 16:49

I think they can have a luxury lifestyle if they like, just don’t be preachy from your taxpayer funded ivory tower. I don’t begrudge their wealth.

Bagshot is massive! Much bigger than Frogmore. Sophie has a perfectly good go at a luxury lifestyle but is allowed to do it on the quiet - but she is relatively unsung and does a lot of grunt work like Princess Anne, doing the unglamorous appointments and she also spends a lot on clothes.

GotToGoMyOwnWay · 01/08/2019 17:11

I don’t mind Sophie & Anne as they do work at the not so glamorous stuff & without the fanfare!

Wetdogloveshubert · 01/08/2019 17:50

We don't know whether they're all offsetting the carbon in some way, do we? Screaking hypocrites at them all isn't going to solve the climate emergency either Hmm

Leti's on holiday! I really dislike these shoes (on everyone). It's a lovely family picture.

Screaming*

mathanxiety · 01/08/2019 18:00

The 'work' is ultimately all completely self-serving.

Well I actually think the invictus games is pretty fab.

The thing is there's only one queen / king so ultimately William is the top dog and there's the risk of a massive rift if at some point in her future he has to tell Harry and Meghan to dial it all down a bit.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 01/08/2019 19:02

I just knew Letizia was going to be espadrilles.
Surely they’re allowed on holiday?!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 01/08/2019 19:09

Smart Works relies on donations in order to dress its clients for job interviews, as well as for their first month of work, resulting in what the Duchess describes as “a potpourri of mismatched sizes and colours, not always the right stylistic choices”.

Good God. What sort of jobs are these women trying to get? I've interviewed graduate level women for pretty responsible, sometimes client facing roles and never once did our panel reject (or even grade) an interviewee on their appearance or stylistic choices.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 01/08/2019 19:10

And PS, who's helping the men?

Becles · 01/08/2019 19:29

And PS, who's helping the men?

Whatever charities set up by men to support employment seekers.

Labrodite · 01/08/2019 19:41

‘Professional appearance’ has been part of the checklist for jobs I’ve been interviewed for recently!

I think Smart Works is a lot about confidence building through clothes.

They also help with professional skills. From their website:

‘After her dressing, each client receives a one-to-one interview preparation and coaching session with an experienced HR professional or senior manager. The interview session focuses on increasing the awareness of her own strengths, answering questions effectively and understanding what is expected of her at interview.’

‘Tis the season of royal wedding anniversaries. Here’s the bride with the best gowns !
Béatrice Borromeo

escapade1234 · 01/08/2019 19:42

Is it bad for me to say that I think Letizia looks very hard work, unfriendly, maybe a diva and completely unapproachable? Coupled with the extraordinary thinness, I don’t know, I just get a bad vibe from here

The videos of her blocking Queen Sofia from taking photos with her grandchildren are astonishing.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 01/08/2019 19:53

The videos of her blocking Queen Sofia from taking photos with her grandchildren are astonishing.

Very, very odd. And pointedly wiping Sofia's kiss off one of her daughters. We really need one of them to post the back story on AIBU!

Horsemad · 01/08/2019 20:12

Not sure why Beatrice B needed so many dresses but that first one on the Insta link is utterly gorgeous.

GotToGoMyOwnWay · 01/08/2019 20:47

Leti & Sofia is all a bit odd. Maybe Sofia is the MIL from hell or maybe it’s Leti who is a difficult DIL. The truth is more likely somewhere in the middle
