I've lost count of how many threads we've had! Previous thread.

Let's keep the gossip lighthearted and, as always, stick to critiquing the clothes rather than being overly critical about the women wearing them.

@LadyCassandra I agree it's a stupid amount of coverage in the DM. But they publish this stuff because they know it will stir people up, and it does. I don't understand why Meghan warrants the coverage that she gets, either positive or negative. I find the Meghan worshippers as irritating to me as her detractors and just as bonkers.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 31/07/2019 09:25

Some of those tiaras are beauties but I bet they are fiendishly uncomfortable to wear. Without wishing to bring Meghan into the convo AGAIN, I thought the tiara she wore for her wedding was one of my favourites, very elegant and suited her perfectly.

QueenOfTheAndals · 31/07/2019 09:41

The DM publish this stuff because they love nothing more than tearing down confident or successful women. Pointing out their biases doesn't equate with 'worshipping' Meghan! She isn't the first and I doubt she'll be the last they do this to, unfortunately.

Anyway, back to clothes and jewels! I agree re her tiara - that one, Zara's and Eugenie's are in my top three! Sophie seems to have plucked the short straw as her wedding tiara was fairly unremarkable and got a bit lost in her veil. I think she's had it remodelled since.

I absolutely loved Eugenie’s tiara - in fact she’s my favourite royal bride. She just glowed.

AliasGrape · 31/07/2019 11:49

Wow that reception dress is dreamy Elspeth Is that Madeleine? Love her having a crafty fag.

Agree with GottoGo on Eugenie’s Tiara and general splendidness as a bride.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 31/07/2019 11:57

I agree re Eugenie, loved the tiara, and the dress, and the whole "family" vibe of the wedding. And so good to see SF back in the fold, and given a warm welcome (at least by the crowd!).

QueenOfTheAndals · 31/07/2019 12:11

I loved how Fergie spotted a friend in the crowd and ran off to embrace them, almost losing her hat in the process!

I really like the idea of Meghan working with M&S.

Hopefully they will listen to her, she knows her smart casual wear.

QueenOfTheAndals · 31/07/2019 12:34

Didn't she collaborate on a clothing range with a Canadian store back when she was in Suits?

It's M&S, John Lewis and Jigsaw so all British brands as far as I know.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 31/07/2019 12:42

I didn’t know about earlier collaborations, interesting to see what it looked like.

AdaColeman · 31/07/2019 12:50

I hope Meghan wears items from the collection on official visits where ever appropriate, visiting schools or charities for example, as that would boost sales considerably.

QueenOfTheAndals · 31/07/2019 12:55

I knew I wasn't imagining it! Looks like it was all very much based on what her Suits character was likely to wear.

I really like that stuff! I don't want to wear leather to work, but I do want smart, plain tops that people won't remember too well (perhaps not a compliment!!)

Spudlet · 31/07/2019 14:34

I know what you mean though and sometimes I think that’s harder to do - designing something plain and simple but well-cut I mean. I think that’s why often cheaper-end places have clothes covered in frills and buttons and bits and bobs - it helps covers deficiencies of fit or fabric. Personally I’d always rather have something that is simple but fits well.

AppleKatie · 31/07/2019 14:44

Oh god me too. Let me know if you find any ever 🤣

Lexilooo · 31/07/2019 16:06

Sorry only just caught up but back to the royal education and qualifications conversation, Princess Anne definitely did not go to university. In fact she has said in an interview, in a response to a question about what she would do if she wasn't a Princess, that the only qualification she has is her HGV license so she'd be a lorry driver.

I absolutely love the fact that despite being able to afford a driver she got her HGV license and drove herself (and her horses).

In fact if the Royals are doing reality tv how about Anne and Zara on Ice Road Truckers?

They could take HM along, she's a competent mechanic.😁

Metre Marit attending a birthday party in a funky pair of shoes. It's good to see her looking so well.

I can’t find any decent photos to link, but I took the DCs to see Horrible Histories The Movie today and Kate Nash as Boudicca is a dead ringer for Kate Middleton! Grin

ajandjjmum · 31/07/2019 19:44

Isn't Jigsaw the business that Kate worked at for a short time - friends of the Middletons? Just wondering if maybe she introduced them to Meghan.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 31/07/2019 21:18

some more Meghan Vogue photos
That Gucci dress looks hugely uncomfortable for maternity wear; but i admire her ability to squat in heels.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 31/07/2019 21:23

Some interesting pictures of the Monaco royals at the Ducruet wedding
Looks like Charlène attended the civil ceremony, but not the religious ceremony or evening do.
The younger women seem to be embra80s fashion, especially Charlotte Casiraghi and Pauline Ducruet.

QueenOfTheAndals · 31/07/2019 21:25

Yes, remember when she went to the dog charity and kept squatting down to pet them? I thought between the heels and the bump she'd topple over! Maybe it's something they learn in Duchess school, Kate has also mastered the pregnant heels squat.

Stephanie really did look better than she had in years at Louis' wedding! She's always been statuesque with her swimmer's shoulders. I like Charlotte's first two dresses and Pauline's pale grey(?) one.
