I've lost count of how many threads we've had! Previous thread.

Let's keep the gossip lighthearted and, as always, stick to critiquing the clothes rather than being overly critical about the women wearing them.

Luminous is the word for Madeleine. And, with the possible exception of Catherine Zeta Jones, I've never seen a woman look as radiant and resplendent during pregnancy as she did!

As far as I can see that's just one part of the DM home page, and not the top spot. All tabloid drivel, as is the DM's stock in trade, but definitely not confined to M. Whoever tweeted that screenshot is just shit stirring, and it seems to have worked.

ElspethFlashman · 30/07/2019 22:02

I've seen those shoes on Medeline before, she loves them.

She also loves a bit of tulle. Can anyone remember her reception dress, that was a princessy dress her mother had owned for years? A tulle and sequin Disney fantasy.

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/07/2019 22:05

That's from this morning @Myimaginarycathasfleas, it's probably changed since.

So people are not allowed to change and evolve? Perhaps he has had his eyes opened. I suspect that his encounter with the racism directed toward his wife may have had that effect.

No, they absolutely are! I didn’t mean to imply that they aren’t. And of course I realise that he will have changed his attitude and understanding since meeting Meghan.

I posted the original quote and other posters were replying with criticisms of Harry’s privileged position and past racist behaviour which I could understand - but I’m glad he’s grown and has more awareness now.

The digital version of the Vogue September issue is available to download now btw. I’ve just done so.

@Myimaginarycathasfleas but the DM has all of those articles and they are currently on the front page of their website. They may not all be clumped together (that screenshot looks like the Femail section) but it is a ridiculous amount of articles degenerating Megan’s work.
I’ve not seen much of the Vogue stuff yet but I just caught a short story on Instagram with Sinead Burke and that was actually enough to impress me.
I honestly don’t get the backlash. Did everyone really think Megan would get married and turn into a Kate-clone?
I also remember when W&K got married, there were endless threads on here about what an awful role model Kate was for not having a “proper” job before she was married, completely dismissing the fact that she was endlessly followed by paparazzi which would make it impossible.
Royal women can’t win.

BBC piece on Smartworks, including a couple of interviews with its service users.

Lucky Prince George spent his birthday in Mustique. £56k for 2 weeks at that villa!

Triglesoffy · 31/07/2019 06:54

You can buy an engagement dress for that...

BigGreenOlives · 31/07/2019 07:04

It’s low season now, over Christmas & New Year it’s $46K per week. No one goes to the Caribbean in the summer Grin. If he’s a friend of theirs they might have got it cheap. There’s a extra 21% tax to pay as well.

However if you are going to be King one day why shouldn’t you stay somewhere lovely on holiday? If I was Kate I’d have made having a lovely holiday each year one of the conditions I’d have made on accepting his proposal.

BigGreenOlives · 31/07/2019 07:04

@Triglesoffy GrinGrin

QueenOfTheAndals · 31/07/2019 07:08

I'm not particularly bothered, I'm just waiting for the tabloids to attack them for spending that much instead of going to Butlins in Bognor Grin

No reason. (Coughs)

BigGreenOlives · 31/07/2019 07:47

Was McQueens ever in the Ladbroke Grove area Rhubarb? Back in the early 2000s?

Rhubarbisevil · 31/07/2019 07:56

Don’t think so. They’ve always been based in the Shoreditch area.

Rhubarbisevil · 31/07/2019 08:02

www.funnyhowflowersdothat.co.uk/evening-kally-ellis-mcqueens. An interesting read! I don’t work for McQueen’s by the way, but you can have a touch of royalty for £45.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 31/07/2019 08:09

don't think Fergie's wedding tiara has been seen since she married? Perhaps Beatrice will wear it if she gets hitched!

Fergie's tiara "York tiara" was a gift and she took obesity her when she divorced.
She's worn it to Elton John's white the and tiara Aids benefit and that's about it.
All other royal brides have had a tiara loaned by the RF.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 31/07/2019 08:09

Obesity¿? It!

QueenOfTheAndals · 31/07/2019 08:14

All other royal brides have had a tiara loaned by the RF.

Except Diana of course, as the Spencers are posh enough to have their own family tiara!
