I've lost count of how many threads we've had! Previous thread.

Let's keep the gossip lighthearted and, as always, stick to critiquing the clothes rather than being overly critical about the women wearing them.

The Meghan bashing is incredible in certain parts of the media. It's like bear baiting. It seems to have ramped up even more in the last few days.

BlingLoving · 30/07/2019 11:32

What's more important is not how she dresses when visiting Smartworks but rather how she interacts with the people using the service.

Also well said Queen. Couldn't agree more. And from all accounts, she is wonderful with the people she meets.

Daisypie · 30/07/2019 11:35

I really don't like the way Meghan writes.

Horsemad · 30/07/2019 12:02

Geordie Frogmore

😂😂😂😂😂

BlingLoving · 30/07/2019 12:41

@Daisypie It's not my style either. But that's just a personal thing. I spend a lot of my time editing other people's work. Some of it I love. Some of it I hate. But style is as much a personal preference as anything else. And she does use language well, even if it's a bit flowery for me.

I remember on here years and years ago, in some rather precious context about newborns and mothers, someone kept going on about, "I carried the baby under my heart for 9 months so..." I rolled my eyes. And then someone else came along and ripped into her for the ridiculousness and it was a woman after my own heart. [see what I did there? Grin ]

SenecaFalls · 30/07/2019 12:51

This idea that in order to fit in she must convert to being 100% the same as every other English White Royal Bride for the last 300 years is just mind blowing to me.

Well said.

ElspethFlashman · 30/07/2019 13:17

I very much doubt she bought that blanket.

The ones you buy yourself are those white waffle weave ones for your hospital bag. Anything remotely colourful or nice or embroidered is a present from someone else!

I appreciate that she can't do a thing right these days..... But I am suffering immensely from Meghan fatigue. I'm getting a bit bloody sick of her tbh. And that's no reflection on her as a person, she's probably very sincere and very nice. But by god I need a break from the worthiness. I thought maternity leave would provide a break, but no!

ItsJustTheOneSwanActually · 30/07/2019 14:03

God the DM really do have the knives out for her, don't they? They are starting to make themselves look ridiculous. It's all so desperate.

Paradyning · 30/07/2019 14:11

Its definitely ramped up. There must have been a round table editors meeting to agree it. Which is mental.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 30/07/2019 15:25

Harry talking about having 2 children; maximum

What if the next pregnancy is twins.....?! Confused

ElspethFlashman · 30/07/2019 15:35

Then there'll be a thread on here "Wanted DC2 but preggers with twins! Help!"

Responses : "Can you even afford twins OP?"
OP:"We have savings fortunately"

Royal Gogglebox. I reeeeeeeaally would do quite a lot to see that. I want Prince Philip watching Love Island with Princess Anne.

I think “I’m a Royal Get Me Out of Here” would just be them quite happily gritting their teeth and eating grubs to get the stars. Zara and PH wouldn’t turn a hair.

Meghan’s blanket was only £30 odd - no wonder she doesn’t want to be seen in public - Archie couldn’t have been less shown off really and there’s an article about her evilness just based on a tiny organic baby blanket. She can’t win. She won’t win for at least three years. She should make great friends with Fergie who really knows how it feels more than any other person in royal life and enjoy her mat leave and not volunteer herself for anything but ribbon cutting and smiling in British designers.

The Tindalls 8th wedding anniversary today
Love the 2nd from last photo; obviously snapped on someone’s phone: «Zara with her granny»

Stravapalava · 30/07/2019 16:12

I don't like Zara's ring, I didn't like her dress or tiara or earrings on her wedding day either. But I loved her flowers and I really like her as a person, so I'll forgive her (I'm sure she's just breathed a massive sigh of relief! Grin )

Leti - top yes, skirt hell yes, shoes wtf??? I usually like Leti's style, it's quite similar to mine.

AppleKatie · 30/07/2019 16:23

I didn’t like the dress but the rest is lovey imo. The ‘Zara and Granny’ photo is lovely.

StCharlotte · 30/07/2019 16:50

Did anyone see Zara and Mike Tindall on Top Gear the other week? They are sooooooooooo in love! It was adorable.

I quite like Leti's shoes and the only reason I haven't bought the ones in this link is that I think that they'd be too flat for me and need a bit more heel. I suspect they're Marmite shoes and I may be in a minority of one though!

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/07/2019 17:15

Some rather handsome water polo players there - Leti gets all the best gigs! I like her top and skirt but will pass on the shoes. I'm not averse to a Perspex shoe - I was in the minority who liked Meghan's cow print ones - but mules really don't do it for me.

I was lukewarm on Zara's dress but I love the Meander tiara, it's so simple and elegant.

Speaking of tiaras, here's a look back at royal wedding tiaras. There are some I've not seen before as minor royals like the Kents and Gloucesters are included.

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/07/2019 17:25

I don't think Fergie's wedding tiara has been seen since she married? Perhaps Beatrice will wear it if she gets hitched!

OP posts:
ajandjjmum · 30/07/2019 18:07

I rarely see Zara and think 'she looks gorgeous', but I nearly always think 'she looks lovely and full of life', which is probably far more important!

AdaColeman · 30/07/2019 18:09

Didn't Fergie wear the York tiara to a ball thrown by Elton some years ago?

I liked Zara's tiara, very pretty, and nice family history too. I think Anne wears it occasionally.

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/07/2019 18:16

Zara looks like fun. I could imagine having a drink and a laugh with her and Mike!

Harry’s interview with Dr Jane Goodall is on the Vogue website.

He speaks about unconscious racism:

’It’s the same as an unconscious bias – something which so many people don’t understand, why they feel the way that they do. Despite the fact that if you go up to someone and say, “What you’ve just said, or the way that you’ve behaved, is racist” – they’ll turn around and say, “I’m not a racist.” “I’m not saying that you’re a racist, I’m just saying that your unconscious bias is proving that, because of the way that you’ve been brought up, the environment you’ve been brought up in, suggests that you have this point of view – unconscious point of view – where naturally you will look at someone in a different way.” And that is the point at which people start to have to understand.’

And says that he and Meghan are having ‘two children, maximum’. (As Curly already posted about)

AppleKatie · 30/07/2019 18:41

Is it just me that thinks the unconscious bias Harry must have picked up in his position is massive. Good on him for trying to fight against.
