I've lost count of how many threads we've had! Previous thread.

Let's keep the gossip lighthearted and, as always, stick to critiquing the clothes rather than being overly critical about the women wearing them.

I'm not sure HM is poorly educated. She's not formally qualified it's true, but by all accounts she takes a keen interest in her red boxes and likes to know what's going on.

Notmyrealname855 · 26/07/2019 21:44

That’s a lush green dress!! If I had a waist I’d be buying it too :)

Margrethe looks fab there - what a great figure, and a lovely colour on her. Very elegant.

This is what I thinks funny about H&W.... H used to poke fun at W’s baldness and always thought W took it in good humour...now poor H is balding as much! Unlucky them! (I actually like bald men but theirs is very patchy, they’re unusually unlucky)

Shame about Leti not being popular in Spain (if true). She doesn’t get in depth reporting here so you’d never know. I like how she does some high street outfits but suppose that’s no indication of her necessary being down to earth

Notmyrealname855 · 26/07/2019 21:45

Did Anne go to uni? I will google...

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 26/07/2019 21:47

I think what I mean is that although HM and PM would have had quite a formal and possibly limited education under Crawfie, that would just have been the start of it. HM might not have depth of education, as in a specialism, but I think the breadth of her knowledge is probably quite impressive.

QueenOfTheAndals · 26/07/2019 22:08

Yes that's what I meant, she has gained experience through her years as monarch but she didn't have very much in the way of a formal education. I think Beatrice was the first princess to go to university?

Daisypie · 26/07/2019 22:21

I think even if the Queen had been a boy she may not have gone to uni. Probably would have been straight into the army, given that there was a war on.

hopeishere · 26/07/2019 22:21

Leti seems to do a lot of engagements! Love the green dress.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 26/07/2019 22:33

The Windsors aren't what you'd call towering intellects, given all their advantages. They are a pretty sporty lot though.

GotToGoMyOwnWay · 26/07/2019 22:37

They aren’t towering intellectuals I agree but my youngest dc is not hugely academic (dyslexia) but most of my friends & family (&her teachers!) say she’s one of the brightest people they know, it’s not all necessarily down to results.

Maje do some gorgeous dresses the Duchess of Cambridge would look beautiful in one.

DevonUkelele · 26/07/2019 22:40

The green dress is on sale - as long as you are a size 2. FWIW, I think it looks even better on Leti than on the model

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 26/07/2019 22:44

I agree with you, @GotToGoMyOwnWay

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/07/2019 08:39

I was referring more to the education they were given than their actual abilities. Apparently Princess Margaret used to bemoan the lack of it, especially as she was deliberately given even less than HM.

Chas is in a green dress too. I think her make up makes her plastic surgery less obvious too. She looks lovely in this outfit.

I love a capes dress and Charlene is so statuesque she can carry it off beautifully.

That is one fabulous dress!
Why is Charlene rarely see with any of her in-laws.
She never seems to attend the Rose Ball.

Vintage pics at Balmoral

The Queen is normally joined by a number of her family at Balmoral. The first are usually Prince Andrew with Sarah and their girls Eugenie & Beatrice. Prince Philip usually stays at Sandringham until Fergie has left (!) & then he flies up to Scotland.

The Cambridges, Tindalls, Phillips all go up, normally around the end of August to tie in with school holidays.

Do we tend to see the HM going to church in Scotland like she does in Norfolk.

I would love to see a photo of the Queen with her extended family especially the greatgrand children at Balmoral.
Lots of the other euro royals do summer family pics.

if you’re reading this RF advisors; can we have a photo please?

I presume the wessexes spend a lot of time at Balmoral too.
Charles has at least a couple of castles / homes in Scotland, but I’ve no idea where they are in relation to Balmoral.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 27/07/2019 09:42

Princess Eugenie looking adorable!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 27/07/2019 09:44

Flashback Beatrice Borremeo in 2 of her 5 wedding dresses; these by Valentino.

Whoever said she looked l8ke a young Queen Paola of Belgium was spot on.
I wonder if they are actually related?...bother being Italian aristocrats.....

Pages of photos of Beatrice Borromeo

She has an interesting background.
She and her brother Carlo are the children of her father Don Carlo Ferdinando Borromeo and his 20 year younger Mistress; Countess Donna Paola Marzotto.

So Don Carlo had 2 daughters with his wife, then had a son with his mistress. Went back to his wife and had a 3rd daughter then back to his mistress and had a 4th daughter/ youngest child: Beatrice. But all the children get on!

queenofarles · 27/07/2019 10:29

One of Beatrice’s sisters is married to the heir of Fiat if I’m not mistaken.
Hands downs Beatrice is the best dressed royal and prettiest .

Also loved Charlene look , beautiful shade of green

frugalkitty · 27/07/2019 10:39

I didn't like the green on Charlene, I thought it overwhelmed her. Not to sound too bitchy but she could do with laying off whatever she's doing to her face, she's going to spoil her lovely looks if she's not careful.

Notmyrealname855 · 27/07/2019 10:46

frugalkitty afraid I felt the same... plus she’s statuesque so already has that going for her. She should be so easy to dress.

I think she never sees her in laws as imagine they’re nightmares... I mean she was a hardworking professional swimmer and from a normal loving family. They are spoilt beyond belief, with no responsibilities, no real efforts made - they rock up to a charity event (always a ball...how much do these raise? Could they not just just their own cash?). They bounce from one marriage to the next in Chanel, and everyone applauds them for just existing.

Can you tell I don’t like the Monaco royals... :)

They don’t seem to have bonded with Charlene at all. Can’t wait for her son to be king and tell them all to stuff it.

Anyway on a nicer note, I found an amazing IG page that discusses ROYAL TIARAS! and other royal jewels :) I’d assumed the jeweller was in Mayfair or something, but she’s in North Carolina! Anyway here she is: www.instagram.com/katiecallahanandco/?hl=en Every week she goes into loads of details on the history of a tiara, it’s amazing!
