Sweet video

FiveTwoFaster · 18/07/2019 08:27

There’s a really lovely clip on the Clarence House Instagram of Prince Charles giving her a little one armed squeeze and smiling at her. I bet she’s got some enormous piece of jewellery for her birthday.

beanaseireann · 18/07/2019 08:32

Curly
Because this is in Style and Beauty and we were discussing what make up Meghan, Kate, the Queen etc use, my initial thought on reading your post re the Sussex foundation was that, bowing to pressure from the inquisitive Mumsnetters public, they have introduced a Royal make up foundation. Blush

QueenoftheAndals
I think we need a new thread soon.

ElspethFlashman · 18/07/2019 08:35

She looks like she has that sort of thick hair that only needs washing once a week.

My fantasy.

Spudlet · 18/07/2019 08:44

Queen Bean Someone who has had more sleep than me must be able to make a title based around foundation, surely?!

Royal Foundations and royal foundation...? It needs work Blush

BlingLoving · 18/07/2019 09:05

Camilla does hair for older ladies very well. I always think she nails that - she doesn't try to hide that she's older, but at the same time she's not all crimpy and boring (the queen, bless her, did not do hair so well at the same as as Camilla).

pinkladyapples · 18/07/2019 09:09

Love Max and Wax casually shopping in NYC and hitting Sephora Grin

Paradyning · 18/07/2019 09:09

I think they are golf shoes. You can see the spikes.

Paradyning · 18/07/2019 09:11

I read something on the blinds that H&M got £ 3M to their foundation from Disney to attend the Lion King premier. Harry was originally allegedly supposed to be going to some Royal Marine memorial instead but then couldn't attend.

As per - treat with a soupçon of salt.

pinkladyapples · 18/07/2019 09:11

Also agree with PPs that Nivea Soft in the white tub/tube is the best cheap moisturiser out there, for me anyway. Been using it for years and tried a few more expensive brands (not as expensive as La Mer) but higher end brands, nothing compares in my opinion and it can be used for body, face and hands for a couple of £, what is not to love :)

beanaseireann · 18/07/2019 09:24

pinkladyapples I agree.
Nivea Soft ( white tube) is great to bring away on holidays as it's so versatile- hand cream, face cream, body cream, foot cream- slather on and put feet in cotton socks overnight.
Plus tubes are so handy ( compared to tubs ).

ElspethFlashman · 18/07/2019 09:36

Another one who enjoys Nivea Soft. Though I've come across a surprising amount of celebs who swear by Astral. I dislike it though - stickier than Nivea.

Though I'm even more budget and use Aldi stuff mostly. There's a new moisturiser that's spf30. It's excellent, but I doubt any Royals use it! 😂

Camilla goes to a local beauty salon in London and has done for years so I imagine she uses a lot of stuff they recommend.

MotherofPearl · 18/07/2019 09:47

Thanks to you lot I've just added a tube of Nivea Soft to my Ocado basket. Grin

Laniakea · 18/07/2019 09:51

I use Astral ... I don’t love the smell but my skin is actually nice (not red/sore & spotty which is its reaction to most things!) ... astral everywhere by night & vit C & heliocare (gel/mineral) in the day. I have tried literally everything - including ££££ Chanel my mum is obsessed - before settling on the Astral.

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/07/2019 09:56

I don't mind spending more on skincare if it's got good ingredients like retinol or vitamin C or peptides as I think they really can make a difference. But if you're not after any of that then Nivea is fine. Doesn't Queen Joan (Collins) say she's used the Nivea in a blue pot since she was a teen? Apparently that's how she looks so young. Nothing to do with the cosmetic surgeon's knife Wink

But of course no end of posh creams or fancy ingredients will help if you don't use sunscreen during the day!!

pinkladyapples · 18/07/2019 09:59

I have never tried Astral but someone once told me it was thick like Nivea Creme? So never bothered trying it as not a fan of the thick creme. No idea if that is true!

Spudlet · 18/07/2019 10:05

An Aldi moisturiser that’s spf30? Intriguing! I use Simple, but it’s only spf15.

motheroftinydragons · 18/07/2019 10:07

I don't like Astral, simply because it's too heavy for me. It's similar to original Nivea in the blue tub, too much for my face. My Gran has always used it though, that and Ponds!

I also think you can't beat a bit of old fashioned bar soap on your face if you suffer from oily skin. I did quite like the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser, it was nice to do BUT my skin felt little different to when I used my trusty bar of Pears.

Yay to all the Nivea Soft love! It's ace. Although since I've hit my mid-thirties and have two small children who wake at the crack of bloody dawn I do need to invest in a decent eye cream I think. My DDs are ageing me! Grin

ElspethFlashman · 18/07/2019 10:09

Yeah Astral is thick. Nivea Soft is the soft version of regular Nivea and much nicer and more spreadable.

The Aldi spf30 is called Rejvulate. I have the night cream too. Both lovely. But I only do that on overcast days. On sunny days like today I go seperate with the sunscreen and use a basic non-spf lotion underneath. I don't trust spf30 moisturisers on hot days.

ElspethFlashman · 18/07/2019 10:10

Wait, it's Rejuvelate. Ridiculous name!

motheroftinydragons · 18/07/2019 10:53

I love love love Estée Lauder face sunscreen. It feels like like moisturiser not sunscreen on the skin and it smells divine!

Some off duty photos of the Swedish RF at a concert. Love how casual they all are. Is it cold there at the moment of an evening? The ladies are sporting some nice scarves!

You can really see Harry in Charles in that pic of him and Camilla on the bench.
