Afternoon everyone,

Protected Species has some pretty loyal fans here on Mumsnet (if you don't believe us, check out this thread from last year), and now they're giving one lucky Mumsnetter the chance to win one of their practical but chic coats.

To enter, we asked Mumsnetters to let us know which jacket on the Protected Species site they'd choose if they were to win and why.

Thanks to everyone who entered - this competition is now closed.

If you missed out this time, never fear - Protected Species are giving Mumsnetters an exclusive discount of 40% off the Waterproof Mac, Waterproof Parka, or Waterproof Commuter. Just enter the code MUMSNET40 at checkout to redeem your discount. Enjoy Grin

(Code not valid for use on the Rain Bomber, Waterproof City Walker or Waterproof Winter Parka. Code expires 18 August 2019.)

Protected Species haven’t paid for this thread, but they are supplying the prize.

Mumsnet carries some affiliate marketing links, so if you buy something through our posts, we may get a small share of the sale (more details here).

I love the Waterproof City Walker in atmosphere white. My current jacket is black, but as I'm getting older I seem to be losing the ability to pull off dark colours! Grin It would be nice to have a lovely light - coloured jacket.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 02/07/2019 21:48

The waterproof commuter size 12-14 in black would be fantastic!

OldJoseph · 02/07/2019 21:51

Waterproof commuter, size 6-8 in dark olive green please.

Would love a stylish waterproof coat like this, especially love the high neck and elegant shape.

angell74 · 02/07/2019 21:54

The True Black waterproof parka would be a stylish way to rock it out on wet and windy playground duties.

The hood makes it perfect because you always need two hands free - life is too short to battle with umbrellas.

buckley1983 · 02/07/2019 21:59

Touch choice here, but I'd have to go for the Waterproof Parka in Storm Dark Grey - gorgeous!!

www.protected-species.com/our-products/waterproof-parka/

It looks so well made & oozes quality! It would be a great way to hide my rather lacklustre wardrobe :)

RiddleyW · 02/07/2019 22:01

I’d love a waterproof commuter in navy, 16-18.

I’ve got masses of use out of the mac I bought from PS last year and I’m definitely eyeing up another!

elrider · 02/07/2019 22:03

Definitely the Waterproof Mac in Sandstone Fawn if I had to choose only one. It's a timeless classic but more practical (waterproof) and somehow more 'floaty looking' than your average mac. The colour is also creamier than the usual beige you see about, which I know would give my ultra pale complexion a bit of a lift!

Shireslass · 02/07/2019 22:04

The Mac in grey 14-16.
Grown up, but practical. I would love this coat. I could actually wear it too, a beautiful and flattering cut.

MistyReturns · 02/07/2019 22:04

I'd have to go city walker. I do love a biker jacket, but not always the best choice walking in woods & rain Grin (Although my leather biker is on 13 years of doing just that!!! If protected species can match that I'll be very impressed). Torn between the white as it looks so good or the olive green for practicality....

fedup2017 · 02/07/2019 22:06

Red waterproof commuter in 10-12 please

Beach11 · 02/07/2019 22:09

I would like to win the Parker in dark olive green size 10. The coat looks perfect for family life: practical, waterproof and stylish. Perfect for family days out 🤞🏻😃

Jaijai38 · 02/07/2019 22:12

The winter waterproof looks like I would survive rugby practice in style!

biffyboom · 02/07/2019 22:14

The Waterproof Mac, in True Black.
Fabulous side profile with the large hood. Love the belt to define the waistline too.

Elvander · 02/07/2019 22:17

I would love the waterproof parka in cobblestone grey (6-8). I live in a particularly rainy part of the country and so would get plenty of wear out of it! Plus it would be great to look stylish in wet weather for a change :)

clopper · 02/07/2019 22:17

Waterproof commuter (16-18) in navy looks flattering and great for playground duty and cycling.

EskewedBeef · 02/07/2019 22:20

Waterproof commuter in cobblestone grey. It's so simple and looks like it would fit in with my wardrobe Smile

LateKate · 02/07/2019 22:24

These coats are amazing, I absolutely love the colours but the one I really need in my life is www.protected-species.com/our-products/waterproof-winter-parka/ despite it not being as colourful as some of the others it would be perfect- warm and waterproof! It would be great for the school run and work to keep me warm and yet smart enough that I could wear it anywhere.

Jenjii · 02/07/2019 22:25

The waterproof commuter in burnt horizon red. I love the simplicity of the design. Looks like it would go with everything from jeans to workwear.

Stuckforthefourthtime · 02/07/2019 22:25

Waterproof Mac in Sandstone Fawn in 10-12 would be amazing for work and home!

Hopeuk · 02/07/2019 22:26

Waterproof Parka in Cityscape Blue (16-18). Lovely.

ryanreynolds · 02/07/2019 22:34

I love the waterproof Mac in deep burgundy. Can't go wrong with a well cut Mac and this one is waterproof too! Will be perfect for my work wardrobe...and for smarter nights out in the autumn!

Ellapaella · 02/07/2019 22:36

I would love the waterproof parka in dark olive green. Stylish enough to wear absolutely everywhere.

Teaandkittens · 02/07/2019 22:46

The Rain Bomber in night sky navy. So hard to find decent waterproofs that aren't full coats- I'm short so long coats swamp me!

Cataline · 02/07/2019 23:00

These coats really are things of beauty aren't they?

I spent far longer than I meant to just perusing the different styles and comparing the colours!

I'm particularly loving the Waterproof Mac in Sandstone Fawn although this is closely followed by the Waterproof City Walker in Atmosphere White (I'm a sucker for a beautifully cut light-coloured coat!)

ReturnofSaturn · 02/07/2019 23:02

I would love the waterproof city walker in white!
Very practical, as well as managing to look chic! Love it!
