Obviously today's the second day of Ascot but given Kate's outfit yesterday, I felt a My Fair lady tribute was fitting!

At least she doesn’t have a look of Eva Braun ( Victoria Wood quote)

Horsemad · 24/06/2019 06:13

Whoever mentioned Francesca Cumani as stylish is right! She and the other female presenter Charlotte ? both totally nailed it imo, as did Susannah Reid on the one day I saw her.

Spudlet · 24/06/2019 06:46

I liked picture 2 (the red and white fitted dress) on her - the hat and shoes weren't great, but that shape of dress looked nice. I also liked the green and blue number as others mentioned. And the navy one with the decoration at the collar.

This year's number was the worst. Those loose elbow length sleeves do nothing for her, and combined with a collar that made her neck look wide, the stiff looking fabric, and that hat.... it was most unfortunate. Not to mention that she was standing quite awkwardly in it too. Although that might be the press deliberately choosing the least flattering pictures!

Béatrice looks so much better in separates, as pp said the green top with blue solide skirt was the best.
Her clothes look expensive, but she has a big Hanoverian bosom and tiny waisr, then her mothers hips, so clothes are not in proportion .

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/06/2019 06:55

Beautiful dress on Charlene

I love her earrings.
She is however a Stepford Princess

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/06/2019 06:57

The adorable Monaco twins

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/06/2019 06:59

HM was at the polo. She looks zingy in that shade of pink.

Love Amal’s dress.
I bet !Meghan would love to be there!

GotToGoMyOwnWay · 24/06/2019 07:45

HM nails it again!

noodlenosefraggle · 24/06/2019 07:50

Prince Ranier looks like an older, fat Prince William!

noodlenosefraggle · 24/06/2019 07:55

I agree Pippas bridesmaid dress was a huge fuss over nothing. It was a fishtail skirt. If you have a bum, it skins it. It was just a nice cream dress, well cut. The press made a massive non story out of it (to manufacture some imagined rivalry no doubt) and everyone else piled on Emperors new clothes style.

MotherofPearl · 24/06/2019 07:57

big Hanoverian bosom Grin

Laiste · 24/06/2019 08:32

I had a fish tail wedding dress with satin laces criss crossing right down to just below the small of my back. It's true, that shape does do wonders for the rear view! WinkGrin

beanaseireann · 24/06/2019 08:57

CurlyWurlyTwirly I never noticed the earrings on Charlene as I was looking at the colour of her hair. Perhaps it's just the lighting but it appeared she had one side of her hair blonde and the other side brown.
She looked stunning in that outfit.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/06/2019 09:39

@beanaseireann I can’t now un see the bi colour hair! Grin

I think she just needs to get her roots done and the side tucked behind her ear emphasised the brown.

beanaseireann · 24/06/2019 09:54

Imagine not noticing the blingy earrings though Curly.
It was only in re reading your post and seeing them mentioned that I went back to the photo and saw them. Smile

Xiaoxiong · 24/06/2019 10:05

I don't know who is dressing Bea & Eugenie in all those high neck tops, they have gorgeous figures that are seldom flattered by their outfits. I understand they're always under scrutiny and probably don't want to draw attention but having a high neck can make your bosom look like the prow of an ocean liner. I have a similar figure (without their added advantages of great legs and waists!) and high round necks are just the absolute worst, it just looks like acres of fabric between your boobs and your neck and it's always unbalanced. They should be in v-necks or scoop necks or just something to show skin below the collarbones, doesn't need to show cleavage but just to balance them out. They need to get along to Bombshell HQ or something tailored for their shape, not sample sizes.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 24/06/2019 10:16

They are really slim and have fantastic figures. I don’t know why they always dress like a mad aunt. Off duty they wear nice clothes.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/06/2019 10:34

The Queen had someone’s scarf blow in her face.
HM just ignored it; but Gillian Anderson’s face is a picture.

I think it must be worse for the scarf owner as they are all Japanese and they are huge on decorum and protocol....

noodlenosefraggle · 24/06/2019 11:11

Maybe it's the problem with designer clothes. They are made to fit very slim women with no bust or hips, so they can be sized up to fit women who are not model thin but still with no bust or hips, like some actresses, but not for women like bea and Eugénie with slim waists and big busts and hips. That's why they look fine off duty.

SenecaFalls · 24/06/2019 12:03

The York daughters need someone like Norman Hartnell. He knew how to design for their kind of bodies. Look at how glam the Queen and Princess M looked when they were similar ages.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 24/06/2019 12:19

That’s a good explanation noodlenosefraggle, but can they get a bespoke dress? I have no idea of costs, but I’d have thought they could get a dressmaker to create something to fit their body shape.

noodlenosefraggle · 24/06/2019 12:28

Yes they need someone to make the lovely 60's style dresses that Princess Margaret wore with full skirts and V necklines. Not sure why they don't have dressmakers that do it.

Spudlet · 24/06/2019 12:41

They need to follow Sarah Chatto and dress for their body types rather than try and follow whatever fashion dictates. They have lovely figures but the clothes they choose so often seem to be working against them!

escapade1234 · 24/06/2019 12:53

You’d think being “blood princesses” they’d have their formalwear made to measure but they seem to buy off the rack (expensively) and it never looks right.
