Obviously today's the second day of Ascot but given Kate's outfit yesterday, I felt a My Fair lady tribute was fitting!

CurlyWurlyTwirly
That's a great summary of the Ascot outfits.
Thank you
I loved all the Queens outfits, Autumns two outfits, Kate's blue outfit, Max was lovely as always, Gabriella Windsor's pink - loved her shoes. Beatrice's blue was nice. Princess Anne's navy and cream was great.
I didn't like Eugenie's two. The first one was ghastly.
As for Fergie.... did she get dressed in the dark ?
Yellow ( too small for her) with green and purpleHmm
If I was going to something with my Mum and she was dressed like that I'd steer her gently in the right sartorial direction.

UrsulaPandress · 23/06/2019 09:52

Yay. I had a Royal dream.

The corgis featured heavily.

ElspethFlashman · 23/06/2019 10:01

The first thing I saw with the Autumn jumpsuit pics was the Botox. Cos we were talking about it on the last thread. Seems everyone is at it.

What does Autumn Philips do? Is she a SAHM or does she have some business interest?

BertrandRussell · 23/06/2019 10:13

My favourite thing is HerMaj’s wonky blue hat. Worst- a draw between Catherine’s My Fair Lady outfit and Eugenie’s blue. But I don’t think any of them nailed it this week. Even Camilla-who’s usually spot on.

DevonUkelele · 23/06/2019 10:27

My favourite thing is HerMaj’s wonky blue hat.

That hat was awesome @Bertrand. For mine, Sophie's blue jumpsuit was the worst, closely followed by Princess Eugenie's weird ass double-nipple Calvin Klein on day 1.

Honourable fine mentions to Eug's hat on the next day, Mike Tindall looking sharp in his tails and three-day growth and ...erm, nope. Disappointed by them all this year. Offering a sad 4 or 5 out of 10 overall - must try harder GrinWink

Curly Thanks for the link, great round up of the Ascot outfits. I loved all of HM’s and I’m one of the people who adored Kate’s pale blue. I also quite liked Zara’s floral maxi, but beyond that nothing really stands out (not for the right reasons anyway).

beanaseireann · 23/06/2019 11:03

ElspethFlashman
How do you spot Botox ?
I just thought Autumn was looking paricularly well at Ascot. Blush
If that's what it does I'd almost get a bit done myself.

TSSDNCOP · 23/06/2019 11:13

I liked Sophie’s Day 2 outfit, Kate’s blue, Zara’s floral and Autumns pink. HM looked fab every day, but i especially liked the grey with yellow detail.

If the Cambridge’s tour is October the little C’s will likely be on half term.

ElspethFlashman · 23/06/2019 11:13

Oh don't get me wrong, she looks great! But look at the whole eye area. Very tight, very pulled.

Botox is often rarely detectable when the face is at rest, but shows when the person is animated.

I loved seeing Lady Helen Taylor on Thursday, we don't see her very often. No sighting of Serena Linley though, she usually looks very chic.

My new girl crush as far a dressing up goes is Francesca Cumani who presented the Ascot TV coverage and looked incredible every day. Her parents are trainers and were in the carriage procession on Thursday so she has credentials!

I'm almost a lone voice but I loved Kate's wafty dress on her. Looks like powder blue was very much this year's colour.

Sophie should stay away from that wide almost off the shoulder neckline, she's too "well covered" and it makes her look very matronly.

The York women are all what I would call "handsome looking", they have a very womanly frame, sturdy legs and slim ankles. Surely there's a designer out there who understands that shape and could dress them better?

Having said that, I applaud them for not playing safe and wearing the identikit royal uniform. They are the spark of eccentricity that gives the RF colour.

SenecaFalls · 23/06/2019 12:27

I'm almost a lone voice but I loved Kate's wafty dress on her.

I liked it, too, except for the pussy bow. But I have to say that it looked a lot like the dress my mother wore to my wedding in the early 1980s, which I doubt is the vibe Kate was going for.

AppleKatie · 23/06/2019 13:05

I liked Kate’s dress too, it’s different from what she often wears which is refreshing.

frugalkitty · 23/06/2019 14:12

I agree with Seneca in that I loved Kate's blue dress apart from the bow which was overkill to me.

beanaseireann · 23/06/2019 14:34

There's a few of us so who liked Kate's dress Smile

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 23/06/2019 14:36

I do think Kate suits that slim 1930/1940s style.
I also think she'd rock some of Queen Alexandra's Edwardian gowns.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 23/06/2019 14:43

I rewatched the Foundation interview yesterday & the only thing I could see was a hint of possible difficulties between William & Harry.
Another thing I noticed was that Harry sounded posher than all of them. William just sounded like some bloke from the Home Counties & I swear I could hear a bit of East Anglia/Essex in his voice. Most likely from his time working in the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
It's a shame he can't still do that job as he loved it.

BertrandRussell · 23/06/2019 15:12

Yes- I remember thinking when I first watched it that the big brother little little brother banter was quite sweet. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. They must both be such incredibly damaged people I suppose it would be a miracle if they had managed to make a healthy sibling relationship. Sad

AnneEyhtMeyer · 23/06/2019 15:59

I really hope they take the children on tour - the two week October half term break is perfect for long haul, we always make use of it.

@Daisypie that's the first thing that popped into my head too.

I think we're going to see more pussy bows. The 80s seem to be coming back with a vengeance. I've seen two threads this week discussing Filofaxes.

Laiste · 23/06/2019 16:12

I like Kate's powder blue too :)

I'll admit it would not have looked as good on 90% of the general population, but that's part of why i loved it. My opinion on Kate is that she's good looking, tall and very slim, not old not young, a small bust and fabulous hair and with those credentials how ever you look it looks like you meant it, IYKWIM? Weather or not anyone else personally likes the look is their opinion, but on her i imagine the clothes always look pretty much how they were intended by the designer.

She has very few proper wardrobe mistakes these days - like a genuine bad fabric, fit or cut, revealing her bits ect. - she's always perfectly polished.

Why DO some of the rest of them have the above problems with their £££ outfits so often? If i had their cash I'd hire a team of people with strict instructions to be honest and say ''i can see your nipples and you look like a box of colour blind frogs in that''. If necessary obvs Grin

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 23/06/2019 16:26

Perhaps Pippa texts Kate & says 'Sis, what the bloody hell are you wearing?' the odd time she gets it wrong.

Whereas I see Carol being more discreet 'Yes darling that was a nice dress but you look gorgeous in that silvery blue one with the whatever & that will look really good at the wherever so you should wear that as you look lovely in it, doesn't she Mike. And Catherine darling I'm dropping some bits off at the hospice shop do you have anything you no longer need?'

Michael says 'did you say something dear?'

Mrsmadevans · 23/06/2019 16:27

I watched the interview with and without the sound on. I do that sometimes because l am deaf in one ear and l rely upon observing body language to get me through some noisy, busy, social situations. I thought Harry was nervous of what Meghan was going to say , clutching his fingers with his other hand until he could see she was fine but l am willing to admit l may be wrong about it. Just my interpretation. Kate was her usual charming self . Meghan was lovely , talked a little too much and made a bit of a faux pas over not being able to tell the interviewer what she had observed/learned in the previous three months but then she was prob nervous too. Both the ladies thanked the interviewer on leaving which l thought was a nice touch. What did strike me is how different Harry & William are. Harry is much less formal than William which of course he would be. Whatever is going on , l think it's between Harry & William nothing to do with the others. Oh yes, l couldn't see any eye rolling from anyone Grin

Stravapalava · 23/06/2019 16:32

I liked Kate's dress as well!

So my favourites by person were:

HMQ - day 3 and day 5 are tied for me. She looks lovely in that pale lime green.

Camilla - Day 1

Eugenie - day 3

Sophie - day 2

Anne - day 3

Zara - neither were flattering or nice, except the colour on her second dress

Autumn - day 3

I actually quite like Beatrice's blue dress, although it didn't suit her shape. I'd wear it though.

And I liked Kate's wafty dress as well.

SenecaFalls · 23/06/2019 16:46

Perhaps Pippa texts Kate & says 'Sis, what the bloody hell are you wearing?' the odd time she gets it wrong.

Not so sure about that, considering that one of Kate's worst looks was that dress she wore to Pippa's wedding. I assume that Pippa had a hand in choosing it because Kate was supposed to be a sort of Matron of Honor.

But I agree that Kate almost always looks good, maybe not on the cutting edge of fashion, but pleasing and appropriate, and sometimes downright fantastic.

LaceySqueakerSaysShutYaMouth · 23/06/2019 16:58

I thought (all though not my type of thing) that the dress she wore at Pippa's wedding really suited her.
But like a pp said it's interesting how certain outfits can be so polarising.
