Oh dear buffy... Grin

Ok, so which Andy Tauer fragrances would people say are particularly good for hot weather? I've got loads of samples and I want to give some of them another go in this heat. Hit me up with your recommendations!

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 05/07/2019 19:54

Yes, cant - 30 ml editions of Philosykos, Eau des Sens, L'ombre, Do Son and Tam Dao, all EDT and in pretty coloured bottles.

They're £50 so still not exactly a mega-bargain, but very tempting for Perfumistas Wink

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 05/07/2019 20:00

mother - I think LADDM, used sparingly, would probably be pretty luscious in the warm weather.

I'd also love to give Reverie au Jardin a try but, alas, my sample is empty and it's now discontinued...so that's probably not terribly helpful!

teta · 05/07/2019 20:10

L eau possibly @MotherOfDragonite. Or maybe Carillon pour un Ange but on the other hand it might be too high pitched in the heat.
Right, one sports day down another to go.
Sotd is Fleur du matin.

Iambuffy · 05/07/2019 20:27

ACCD or LADDM

Bodyonme · 05/07/2019 20:37

I think L'eau too. And phi une rose de kandehar.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 05/07/2019 21:44

SOTD Kiehl’s Musk.

buffy no, but DP has THREE separate jollies for sport this summer - Leeds, London, and Helsinki - so I am due an excellent present. That might be it. Hope the migraine has cleared.

Mine are hormonal too (migraines).

Oh, great. Its lovely but I dunno, not very papery?

MotherOfDragonite · 06/07/2019 07:45

Thanks guys! I will try L'Eau today, and probably Phi Une Rose de Kandahar tomorrow. Exciting. I have a bottle of LADDM but have found it a bit much in this weather for some reason. Maybe I ought to try again though.

Iambuffy · 06/07/2019 09:24

Morning smelly folks :)

Yoir parcel arrived calm thank you :)

4160 New York 55 is the only one I've sniffed up to now...oh! How nice! I imagine this is fab in hot weather?
Really light and frothy...not my usual thing at all but yes, I like it :)
I shall try the others later and report...

It's raining here today so a day of cleaning, washing and studying I think...

CountFosco · 06/07/2019 11:23

WFH yesterday so SotD was Nuit de Bakelite. I love this perfume so much but DH tolerates it (as opposed to hugging me when I was wearing Clinique Happy and telling me I smelt gorgeous although thst may just be memories of our youth) and DD1 hates it. Still want to buy a bottle (read a review that compared it to all my favourites so it's clearly destiny).

Today I'm being more sociable in Bois Naufrage.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 06/07/2019 11:29

Sun is still shining here so I'm wearing shorts (gasp! won't somebody think of the children!) and Diptyque Eau des Sens. Hmmm. It's a very soapy citrus and not really my thing, but I guess ds might make use of it. I think I just need to accept that most citruses really don't do much for me, although I do like a nice sweet, dirty orange blossom. I really enjoyed Ombre dans L'eau yesterday though.

We're off to Lisbon in a fortnight and I'm trying to decide what to take, perfume-wise. I ordered two beautiful silk-cotton frocks from Cos, neither of which fit so they'll be going back which tbh is probably good news for my bank balance. I had visions of me wafting the streets of Lisbon in my beautiful new dresses but I guess I'll be dragging the old faithfuls from the back of the wardrobe instead...

CountFosco · 06/07/2019 11:32

Oh, I love COS. Have you looked at Arket, I think their stuff can be a bit more wearable.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 06/07/2019 11:32

Oh, Bois Naufrage sounds like an excellent idea, Count; I might swap to that in a bit.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 06/07/2019 11:37

Yes, Arket is great, I have a couple of bits and bobs that I really like. Usually Cos works well for me, but these dresses are very fitted on top (with beautiful ballooning skirts, so pretty) and I just couldn't get the bloody zips up! Well, I could on one but then couldn't actually breathe or move... Grin

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 06/07/2019 11:40

body, did you do the Bad Thing? I hope so!

MrsMoggs · 06/07/2019 11:49

Have done a moderately bad thing.

MotherOfDragonite · 06/07/2019 11:53

Bad things for the win. Team Perfumista 4eva!

Bodyonme · 06/07/2019 12:05

No I was good and just ordered the pick and mix from feel unique instead!

Bodyonme · 06/07/2019 12:05

What did you do mrs moggs?

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 06/07/2019 12:14

Have done a moderately bad thing

Well you can't just leave us hanging like that...

MrsMoggs · 06/07/2019 12:39

Sorry Maud, got distracted by kids; a PP order has arrived. I bought some of their homages to TF Neroli Portofino for a friend who is a fan (I've had a cheeky sniff and like the forte one best). Plus also 30 mls of whatever they call their tribute to Mandarino di Amalfi for me.

I think the latter is my best ever PP - big whoosh of soapy clean mandarin and fresh herbs. Lasts remarkably well and is nicely balanced throughout (which I'm not sure the PPs always are). I do love mandarin and basil together. Would be happy to smell of this on every hot day, all summer long.

Your description of the tobacco-yness of this batch of Rome 1963 is very enticing, but I need to buy a new washing machine!

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 06/07/2019 13:08

Sounds lovely, MrsM - I do wish I got on better with citruses.

Happy to send you a bit of my new bottle of Rome 1963 if you want to try the batch? I'm sure it is more tobacco-y than my original.

Iambuffy · 06/07/2019 13:21

Their pp by the fireplace is oos atm 😖😖😖
Luckily I have a back up 50mls
