Now that the Orange One has gone, it's almost time for a visit from the Oranje One! Yes, Queen Max will be attending next Monday's Garter ceremony. It'll be a triplicate fashion face-off between her, Letizia and Kate - who will emerge victorious?

Hah, not sure our Megs is a Love Island kind of gal! She strikes me as someone who'd be very into 'worthy' tv and self-empowerment books like The Secret. I can see her sticking post-its in them to mark passages she finds particularly profound and insisting on reading them out to Harry at bedtime when he just wants to fall asleep!

I loved yesterday's photos so much that I'm adding some more. Anne looks lovely here, and has some real Pat Butchers on. I don't think we often see her beaming like this?

The second shot is lovely for having HM with Charles and William all dressed in their feathers. Do we think George, Charlotte and Louis get to play dress up after school and nursery?

The last one is King George V and Queen Mary, for some historical interest. Mary's neckline!

I was famous at dd’s school for producing a Charles I costume at 5 minutes notice. K&W have an unfair advantage......

Queen I’m not sure it is because of her previous marriage. She is disliked because of her personality. She is considered to be a bitch. Apparently she is very sharp and fake. That is according to Spanish family members and friends. They were not at all surprised by her behaviour to her MIL and thought the whole thing was hilarious but they are as far from royalist as it’s possible to be.

@Paradyning I don't think so. The Chatto boys are older than that page looks to be, as is Viscount Linley.

If we ever found out that Maxima was a big phoney and a complete ice queen behind the scenes we'd all be devastated!!

My dad always described her as striking rather than pretty which he insisted was more of a compliment. He used to say prettiness fades but beauty lasts a lifetime.

No, she is from Venezuela, I think, so i doubt she would be an ice queen.
Googling t he Dutch Royal family has been an interesting experience, Max's brother in law renounced the royal family because his wife to be had a previous relationship with a dutch drug baron, and then died in an avalanche, leaving 3 children

@latedecember1963 I always thought young Anne was what upper crust circles called a "handsome" woman. Zara is very much like her - not conventionally pretty but striking.

@EleanorReally Yes he did, his wife was Mabel of multi-bows fame. He lost his place in the succession when he married her but I don't think they were on bad terms with the rest of the family. Mabel is Dutch, as is the other brothers wife (Laurencia?) but Wax continued the tradition of taking a foreign spouse. The Netherlands has never had a Dutch consort!

In the pictures from yesterday William still looks like a little boy playing dressing up. HM looks like she wears that get up all the time. Nice to see so many genuine smiles in the pictures.

Do you think HM has a issued a chill out and be bloody happy directive?

It's hardly work! And the PP was just saying Meghan might have enjoyed meeting Max. I bet Meghan is finding life with the Brit RF stultifying.

I think the Dutch royals are very close. Friso left two small daughters and Max and Wax spend a fair bit of time with them.

You never know, Meghan might make an appearance at Ascot since it's just down the road from her.

Can't see who the Page is but he's a very handsome young man with a lovely countenance. I was fearful for her Maj going up and down the steps with the huge cloak on her back but l needn't have worried, she took it all in her stride. Made of stern stuff thankfully 😊. I think we may be seeing Meghan today or at least some time this week . Hope so anyway 😀. Can't wait to see the ladies outfits , am positively drooling 😂

While we are waiting for the Ascot outfits, I found a photo of Diana yesterday which I don't remember seeing before, it's in the commemorative issue of Vogue after she died. I'd love to see a larger version of that last photo

There’s no sign of Bea & Eug. So it’s probably just for Garter Knights and spouses.

No reason why Meghan couldn’t do ascot this week. Perhaps Ladies day. If reports are correct; she’s got a nanny for the day, and as pp said; she’s on,y down the road.
