Previous thread

Now that the Orange One has gone, it's almost time for a visit from the Oranje One! Yes, Queen Max will be attending next Monday's Garter ceremony. It'll be a triplicate fashion face-off between her, Letizia and Kate - who will emerge victorious?

Laineygossip took screengrabs if the original Sun article before it was edited.

So a married man is not allowed to have dinner with a female friend who is a close friend of his wife? Bloody ridiculous.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 16/06/2019 06:21

@Whydoesitalwaysdothis the key phrase is *entertaining William".

Whydoesitalwaysdothis · 16/06/2019 07:14

I don't think the Sun were there though, were they?

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/06/2019 07:18

The angle they're going with this time is that Rose's brother got drunk and spilled the beans on a night out. I guess it makes a change from "a source"!

Edward in a really well cut suit

Am I the only one thinking it’s reading as a one night stand? I’m certainly not getting the impression of a long term affair? Wrong still but for me personally a long term affair would be so much harder to forgive & forget.

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/06/2019 07:57

That's a big improvement @CurlyWurlyTwirly, maybe Sophie has showed him our threads!

Edward looks quite chic there. Now we just have to get him to ditch the Postman Pat shoes. Black does not go with everything, Eddie! Switch it up to brown! Go crazy!

What I suspect with the Rose thing is it was just like we see on the Relationships board "My friend is texting DH a lot and I know she's having a hard time in her marriage but she's having DH around to hers for tea when I'm not there and I know he won't do anything but it's getting a bit much and now I'm hearing her brother is gossiping about their cosiness - AIBU?"

The answers would be solidly "she's not your friend, distance yourself and tell your DH to cop the fuck on"

So I'm not suprised there was a frostiness.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 16/06/2019 08:41

It's the circumstances. If it had been prearranged with Kate's knowledge, that would've been fine. If she found out when she got back, that's different. Sounds like it might have been the latter.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 16/06/2019 08:42

@ElspethFlashman

That sounds very plausible. Kate is nobody's and if she caught wind; I’m sure she would nip it in the bud. Rose’s husband has obviously gone back to his -ahem - confirmed bachelor ways, and Rose was unhappy.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 16/06/2019 08:42

Nobody’s fool*

mikado1 · 16/06/2019 08:51

The Sun describe Kate as unruffled but I'd say she's more doing a sterling job of seeming unruffled but I imagine she's rattled by such things, who wouldn't be? I think her situation, and Meghan's is insufferable Rea, just imagine your every move and facial expression being picked apart. Fwiw I don't think Harry did anything wrong. If my DH for example, was talking during say a family wedding ceremony, I would definitely spit out tell him to zip it. Horrible to see it so analysed abd the toxic delight on the DM comments is quite frightening. People who would actually cheer at a divorce.

Paradyning · 16/06/2019 08:52

Wow Edward! Such a difference!

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/06/2019 08:55

Laughing at "Postman Pat" shoes! But yes, ditch those and get a haircut and then Ed's sorted!

Who's Edward meeting there? Is that Andrew Lloyd Webber's brother? (Not a joke, ALW's brother actually is a musician and looks like that!)

OP posts:
Myimaginarycathasfleas · 16/06/2019 09:09

That does look like Julian Lloyd Webber.

beanaseireann · 16/06/2019 09:11

ElspethFlashman a few threads back I wrote more or less the same thing.
The damsel in distress / sympathy thing.

^^this. With all the bells, whistles and knobs in the known universe.

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/06/2019 09:18

Is it just me who finds Rose's husband a bit of a dish? That's an old photo but even now there's something about him. But if he's a 'confirmed bachelor' then I'm not sure why she'd marry him. She was young, attractive and wealthy - she could've bagged someone her age, surely?

OP posts:
BeverlyGoldberg · 16/06/2019 09:22

Weren't they sort of cornered into marriage by her pregnancy? They were married the day after they announced their engagement and four (?) months later she gave birth to twins.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 16/06/2019 09:23

I thought 'confirmed bachelor' was Victorian code for gay?

queenofarles · 16/06/2019 09:35

Not just you Queen , he is kinda good looking.

I’d be livid if my DH was spending his evenings with a female friend on several occasions.

queenofarles · 16/06/2019 09:38

Maybe he swings both ways?
