Previous thread

Now that the Orange One has gone, it's almost time for a visit from the Oranje One! Yes, Queen Max will be attending next Monday's Garter ceremony. It'll be a triplicate fashion face-off between her, Letizia and Kate - who will emerge victorious?

He is, put him in a scarf tied under his chin and he'd be the double of HM!

I don't know why, but this proper made me laugh Grin

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 15/06/2019 21:01

That quick photo of Harry on the balcony doing a cross look is just a snap of a fleeting image in time. He probably wasn't even aware of his expression. My DH is like that, his natural resting face is Grant Mitchell on acid & to outsiders he can look very intimidating even though he's as soft as butter.
Harry was probably just saying to Meg 'quick Anthem'.

hopeishere · 15/06/2019 21:07

Where are the photos of Kate and Meghan? That's so cute!

ElspethFlashman · 15/06/2019 21:15

I just came across them online and didn't save them and now can't find them! Sorry! They're in the carriage waiting to leave. You can't see either face as Camillas hat is huge, lol.

MotherofPearl · 15/06/2019 22:22

CPM in a great red dress. I find her hat a bit odd with it though.

Rose Hanbury is back in the Mail. The piece spends a lot of time talking about her husband spending most of his time in Paris with his friend and business partner, and it reads very much like an article trying to allude to things it isn’t allowed to say, if you ask me.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 15/06/2019 22:24

Has Thomas popped out of the woodwork again?

Not that I'm aware, but it must go through her mind every time there's a family occasion that he might choose to comment publicly as he has in the past.

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/06/2019 22:34

Well he was a "confirmed bachelor" for many years @Haworthia...

I thought CPM had gone blonde then realised it was her hat!
Great dress though.

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/06/2019 22:52

The Sun story certainly drops hints about Rose's husband and the friend with whom he bought a house in Paris. Apparently they lived together there for years and entertained "arty characters" such as Johnny Depp, Liz Taylor and Richard Burton. Presumably not all at the same time as Depp is hardly of the generation of Liz n' Dick!

So affair rumors are not true.
I feel sad for Rose what did she actually do?

Also am I the only one seeing a hint of a baby bump ? Speaking of Rose here.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 15/06/2019 22:59

Perhaps the gossips have got it all wrong about Rose. Maybe she did upset Kate but it was about completely something else.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 15/06/2019 23:07

There's only one reason to keep the Cholmondleys in the press and that's to keep up the public interest angle, which means the affair is most likely to be true. The papers do this all the time, printing random stories about people where there is a bigger juicier story they are waiting to go with. See the Beckhams.

Horsemad · 15/06/2019 23:10

Rose didn't look pregnant to me in the pictures of the State Banquet the other week.

Rhubarbisevil · 15/06/2019 23:17

If Mr Rose is not a girl person then that gives more credence to Rose wanting a bit of attention.

Haworthia · 15/06/2019 23:20

Baby bump? She looks like a normal woman with a normal woman’s abdomen.

Weirdly underdressed though. The lack of jewellery and bag really made her look unkempt, if you ask me.

queenofarles · 15/06/2019 23:24

I really liked her look .

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/06/2019 23:31

That's true @AnneEyhtMeyer, I remember the Mail printing a strange story about Hugh Bonneville, saying he was known as "the Ryan Giggs of TV" (as if he was ever actually called that!), around the time of that super injunction gossip several years ago. Turned out Lord Grantham had allegedly been a very naughty boy!

SlipperOrchid · 15/06/2019 23:35

I really liked Rose's look too. It was very chic.

I agree Anne, the papers are alluding to the affair without actually saying it outright. I doubt its William's first time tbh although if his wife was pregnant and sick, its even worse.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 15/06/2019 23:40

I thought Rose looked like she couldn't be bothered that night.

And for William surely seeing all the crap his parents got up to would make him think thrice about playing away from home?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 16/06/2019 00:00

@QueenOfTheAndals yes that's another example, the press do this all the time. Whenever there is an injunction all you need to do to discover the participants is look out for multiple non-stories. Popbitch did a really good guide to interpreting news stories a while back. They all use the same tactics.

SummerPlace · 16/06/2019 02:16

@ElspethFlashman: the very idea of his daughter being Queen when he had a son right there who had an actual penis

I am no monarchist (however, I am juvenile enough do find Royal peccadilloes and misdemeanours amusing), but I remember reading at the time that Carl Gustav thought it wasn't just that Carl Philip had been heir apparent and then wasn't heir apparent, and that it should not have affected children that were already born. I have no opinion on the right or wrong of this viewpoint, just that this is what was said at the time and is sort of logical.

PinkieTuscadero · 16/06/2019 04:09

And for William surely seeing all the crap his parents got up to would make him think thrice about playing away from home?

People often repeat the behaviour of their parents.

PinkieTuscadero · 16/06/2019 04:18

That Sun article is a classic example of the British press saying very little but implying shitloads.

Whydoesitalwaysdothis · 16/06/2019 05:23

I don't think Harry was out of order. Obviously they were all supposed to be facing forwards and showing respect to the Queen. She had forgotten and turned round to talk to Harry just before the NA. He knows the protocol and was quickly telling her to be aware. He's been drilled in this stuff all his life. He is very mindful of what he's supposed to be doing and when , and wanted to do the right thing. If M was miffed, it isn't his fault. She should know by now what the protocol is after all.
