Previous thread

Now that the Orange One has gone, it's almost time for a visit from the Oranje One! Yes, Queen Max will be attending next Monday's Garter ceremony. It'll be a triplicate fashion face-off between her, Letizia and Kate - who will emerge victorious?

He is, put him in a scarf tied under his chin and he'd be the double of HM!

I really envy people who can make that scarf thing look chic. Whenever I try it I just look like a peasant.

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/06/2019 16:15

I'm not sure chic is the word to describe HM and PA when they don a scarf @Myimaginarycathasfleas! That's perhaps more Jackie O or Audrey Hepburn.

I think the balcony thing was maybe a momentary lapse from Meghan. She was at the Trooping the Colour last year, so should know the procedure.

She's probably got the newborn baby fog & forgot the national anthem hadn't been played at that moment in the proceedings.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 15/06/2019 16:23

haha Queen, I was thinking more of Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn than HM. And when I read PA in your post I though you meant Prince Andrew! 😱😂

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/06/2019 16:32

Unless he's got a secret life as Princess Andrina then no!!

ElspethFlashman · 15/06/2019 16:56

I don't think anyone is saying it was anything other than a momentary lapse. A brain fart, if you will.

What people are saying was that Harry was a bit too stern in his correction. She's not his naughty child, she's his wife. And older than him!

QE got away with "get up William" cos she is in her 90s and the matriarch of the family and hello, the Queen, and can be forgiven for talking to a fully grown adult like a naughty child. Harry doesnt get that pass.

I have definitely not drank the Meaghan Kool Aid and feel she has made several errors of judgement along her Royal way, but I think the fuck up here was Harry's. This wouldn't have been half as newsworthy had Harry not instantly satisfied all the vile DM commentators who delighted in him putting her in her place and mastering his uppity woman.

Wetdogloveshubert · 15/06/2019 17:10

On the Edward front, the RF insta feed has photos of all the family. Edward partly looks so old now because he seems keen to keep his wispy hair on top, and won't let go of the dohble breasted suits on certain engagements. Given how similar William looks to him, it looks relatively straightforward to drag his look into 2019. C'mon, Ed!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 15/06/2019 17:24

He only had an instant to communicate the message and she needed correcting. And none of us heard his tone of voice so it may not have been as stern as it looked. She's a tough cookie and a quick learner, I'm sure she's over it now.

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/06/2019 17:26

Yep, Eddie just needs to do a William on the hair front and ditch the old fogey suits. He's pleasant-looking enough, and seems in decent shape. Maybe Sophie should invite the Queer Eye guys around to give him a makeover!

Re the balcony thing, for all we know Harry and Meghan might've been up all night with Archie and in foul moods by the time afternoon rolled around. God knows DP and I had a few arguments when DC was tiny and we'd not had enough sleep. I don't think a few seconds snapshot can be taken as evidence of impending divorce!

Maybe he was appalled afterwards and apologised profusely. If she next appears in public wearing another new ring maybe that's his apology! You heard it here first Daily Mail... Wink

I think people are making way too much of the balcony debacle, Harry had a split second to remind her “eyes front” he was hardly going to put his hand gently on her shoulder and whisper softly in her ear, he acted like any normal person would, he hardly elbowed her in the ribs did he.

SenecaFalls · 15/06/2019 17:56

I agree with Betty Boo. I have watched that video several times. To my mind, people who are exercised about it are making a mountain out of molehill.

thatone · 15/06/2019 18:14

I don't know what to make of the video..MM does look a bit hurt though...I'm guessing that the next time they are in public together he might be overly solicitous...

AliasGrape · 15/06/2019 18:53

I didn’t notice anything at all on the balcony. I a man very unobservant! Tried to google but can’t be mithered watching the whole thing again.

What’s next fashion wise? I’ve managed about 12 hours sleep total in the last week, our boiler is on the blink so hot water is sporadic and am currently sat here in no makeup, my oldest most shapeless sweats and a vest top I’ve had since uni (I’m 39), I need some vicarious glamour to live through.

AliasGrape · 15/06/2019 18:54

*I am very unobservant! Not I a man. Sigh.

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/06/2019 18:57

More photos of Swedish gownage from last night. Some great shots of the tiaras.

MotherofPearl · 15/06/2019 18:58

Only just watched the balcony video now. I wonder if Archie was in the room beyond - with a nanny or staff member - and started crying? PH spoke to someone in the room, perhaps saying something like 'we won't be much longer' and Meghan turned to see what was happening.

Anyway, we can't know what happened and it doesn't seem to be a big deal really.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 15/06/2019 19:09

What's the betting we get an Archie pic for Father's Day? Maybe his hands. Then an ear...

queenofarles · 15/06/2019 19:24

Maybe his hands. Then an ear are ears a thing now? Wink they should stop with the tease and show one nice photo instead,

Mrsmadevans · 15/06/2019 19:26

Yep ! l hope not though, it would be a bit twee and smacks of attention seeking imho. Better to wait for the Christening that won't be long.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 15/06/2019 19:55

I do feel for M in this respect. She can't avoid any of the formal occasions where parents would normally be present. She can't opt out of a Christening, for instance. And every time there will be this Thomas Markle shaped elephant in the room. She really does have to become assimilated into the Royal Family because, whether by misfortune or design, she seems to have none of her own.

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/06/2019 20:18

Has Thomas popped out of the woodwork again?

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 15/06/2019 20:19

I wonder if Doria will be back for the christening?

OP posts:
ElspethFlashman · 15/06/2019 20:20

Apparently Archie really wasn't there, whether he was in Windsor or just in KP. There are (fuzzy) photos of Meghan showing Kate a photo on her phone, presumably the baby.
