....ok, off the back of seeing it recommended here for plumped-up, dewy morning skin, I am volunteering myself as Guinea Pig...

I'll report back.

I'm trying this tonight. How much do I put on? Blobs, rub it in, or what??

EatenByDinosaurs · 08/07/2019 20:59

readit I tend to put quite a lot on and rub it all over my face and neck, everywhere you'd put your face and eye creams.
I'm a fan of the troweling approach Grin, most people just do a thin layer I think.

readitandwept · 08/07/2019 22:11

Well, I certainly feel incredibly slick.

EatenByDinosaurs · 09/07/2019 00:41

Yes, sadly the slug like part is the downside Grin

Sarcelle · 09/07/2019 00:48

I just use under eyes, just a tiny bit after eye cream. If I use too much it seems counterproductive in that it makes my eyes puffy the next morning. And it is uncomfortable. So less is more in my case.

Nothing to report. But will continue to live the slug life tonight.

notaflyingmonkey · 09/07/2019 19:05

I joined the slug life club last night.

Didn't know what the word occlusive meant until I looked it up today, and then realised I needed to have put the vaseline on top of the moisturiser.

I didn't realise being a slug was so hard.

readitandwept · 09/07/2019 22:50

Oops. I didn't put moisturiser on last night. Just slapped on the Vaseline.

EatenByDinosaurs · 09/07/2019 23:13

Oh sorry, it was mentioned earlier in the thread, but yes, you do your usually nightly skincare routine, and then put Vaseline over the top as the last step, after your moisturiser.

So it sort of seals your skincare in and makes it work better. Occlusive was a revelation to me too, wish I'd know about it years ago!

Yes, well this is the elite slug club, so few more hoops to jump through as opposed to those riff raff slugs Wink Grin

Only just read this thread but I must give it a go tomorrow night need to go buy some first

Birdie6 · 09/07/2019 23:21

I've been doing it once a week for years. I'm 60 and don't have any wrinkles so something is working !

SummersB · 11/08/2019 05:17

Just wondering if anyone has been keeping this up and how that have been getting on?
Funnily enough I bought Eva Fraser’s Facial Exercises book a few days ago and she advocates putting nothing but Vaseline on your cleansed face. I was really doubtful but after reading this thread I thought I’d give it a go and so far it has made my face feel really soft and moisturised. I’m not sure about wrinkle reduction but I am currently working a run of night shifts so looking generally a bit shit anyway. Though to be fair, I don’t look too awful considering I’ve barely slept - I have certainly looked worse!
I’m a bit worried about worsening my eye-bags but I have used it really sparingly underneath my eyes and so far it doesn’t seem to have had a negative impact in that area. So far so good!

TooMuch87 · 16/08/2019 01:04

I wouldn’t be without it now. I’ve been using it every single night for the last two or three months (what I do is cleanse, then use Superdrug Vitamin E serum, then a very generous amount of Vaseline on top). My skin is so much clearer than it was, and feels really nice and soft every morning. When I do get spots, they seem to heal up more quickly. At first I was convinced it was making my forehead lines look less noticeable, but now I’m not so sure. Perhaps there’s a minor improvement. Definitely a 10/10 from me overall though.
