....ok, off the back of seeing it recommended here for plumped-up, dewy morning skin, I am volunteering myself as Guinea Pig...

I'll report back.

I slathered Vaseline all over my face before bed and this morning my lines are definitely less noticeable! Wow!

Ok, the Vaseline thing must work because I’ve just been asked if I’m using a new eye cream because my under eyes look less dark this morning!

Auldspinster · 05/06/2019 11:56

I seem to remember that Marilyn Monroe's downy facial hair came from a hormonal treatment she took (I think she had endometriosis), not the Vaseline.

Aquamarine1029 · 05/06/2019 12:05

Eek, Vaseline will give you a hairy face

That is 100% bollocks.

Sarcelle · 05/06/2019 13:07

I am jumping on the bandwagon. I do worry about face fuzz though, already have menopausal chin hair!

LoafofSellotape · 05/06/2019 13:41

It doesn't cause hair growth,it just doesn't.

Sarcelle · 05/06/2019 14:46

Eleanor - did you use your regular eye cream and then vaseline over the top? Does it drag?

TooMuch87 · 05/06/2019 15:11

So I’ve been trying this for the last six/seven days and I’ve noticed today that the lines across my forehead seem to be a lot less prominent.

And I don’t think it’s a placebo, because I hadn’t heard anything about Vaseline reducing the look of wrinkles (and wouldn’t have expected it to). I just tried it in the hope it would soften my skin and help my spots (it does seem to be helping them heal quicker).

So I’m impressed with it so far. But I’ll give it a few more weeks before giving my final verdict. Because I often get very excited by a new product and then my skin/hair just suddenly stops agreeing with it.

BusterGonad · 05/06/2019 15:30

@ChristineBaskets lmfao! Great user name too! 😂😂😂

EleanorOalike · 05/06/2019 18:39

@Sarcelle no, I used it alone and it didn’t drag at all. I’m 35 so don’t have any set in wrinkles or fine lines but I did have a couple of faint lines emerging that you could see in certain lights thanks to my side sleeping! I put a fair amount on and was worried it would be puffy in the morning but nope. After washing off in the morning it looks quite luminous like I’ve used a highlighter underneath. Very impressed.

Sarcelle · 05/06/2019 20:25

Thanks! I used mine on top of my eye gel. Might do it a couple of times a week. (Worried about milia.)

Schnitzelvonkrumb · 05/06/2019 21:05

I have really greasy skin, i don't even use moisturiser because i hate the idea of adding anything cream-ish to my skin so i can't even contemplate the idea of vaseline!!

Quintella · 05/06/2019 21:19

Avoiding moisturiser can actually be counter-productive for oily skinned people.

Morgan12 · 05/06/2019 21:22

So should I be telling my DH to stick some vaseline on his head then?

Loopytiles · 05/06/2019 21:23

Intrigued by this.

It’s a fire hazard though, builds up on bedlinen, even with regular laundering. So if doing this don’t smoke in bed or have candles!

Iamtooknackeredtorun · 05/06/2019 21:26

I use it to remove eye make up and then out some around my eyes on my lips. I’ve done it for decades.

OldAndWornOut · 05/06/2019 21:41

Well, I've got some pretty deep lines on my face, so they're going to have some Vaseline on them (as soon as I buy some)

zippyswife · 05/06/2019 22:24

So I don’t use moisturiser before bed- I just use almond oil. Can I put the Vaseline on top of that? And as someone with sensitive/rosacea prone skin is this something I can do without an adverse reaction?

lotusbell · 05/06/2019 22:25

I'm trying it tonight too, I've put a very thin layer on and my face feels 'tacky' Smile

Sarcelle · 05/06/2019 22:33

Perhaps the trick is to put the layer on a couple of hours before bed. I put it on under eyes at 7am after cleansing, moisturising. Sang in within a couple of hours.

zippyswife · 05/06/2019 22:51

I’ve dragged everything out of my cupboards and no bloody Vaseline! I have unearthed rose/cocoa butter/aloe Vera tubs of it that I never knew I had but no normal Vaseline

catinboots99 · 05/06/2019 23:23

Another one here just checking in with a face full of Vaseline, lying in bed, praying for time to rewind overnight.

Well if MN recommends it.... Grin I've survived the sizzle threads, the sudocrem as a primer threads , the prep H on dark circles threads. Hell I even did the MN haircut (that was a dark time)

What have I got to lose??

catinboots99 · 05/06/2019 23:28

Oh just remembered so more!

Footner - life changing you all said. Likewise eyebrow razors and those hideous springy things that were supposed to remove your moustache.

maddy68 · 05/06/2019 23:42

My step mum used vasaline to go to bed every night. Her skin was incredible until the day she died. Honestly if you can stand the grease go for it
