Hadley Freeman's take on the Trump Family Holiday

I am always amazed how HM and PC can keep such straight faces in the most ridiculous situations.j couldn't even listen to trump without an expression of shock or incredulity. That's hard-core training.
I'll never forget an occasion when I was at a dinner, everyone was seated and service was due to start. There was one chair empty directly opposite Charles( round tables). A woman swept in dramatically wearing a floor length black see through full ball skirt and.....A black wonderbra. Nothing else except some large diamonds.her boobs were rather inflated as were aspects of her face. He sat and he had to look at this woman all night, never seemed to even notice the boobs or total randomness and was totally polite to her. I remember thinking wow that takes some kind of serious training, or maybe fear😂

Harry visiting the Chelsea pensioners today

Is Colin there?

NoTheresa · 06/06/2019 11:25

derxa

Marina Hyde's writing is all 'look at me I'm so clever'. The BTL comments usually consist of having orgasms over her. Not my cup of tea.

Hmmm. I agree. Mind you, most Guardian columnists have that sort of effect on me.
It’s a bit Emperor’s new clothes.

RhubarbIsEvil · 06/06/2019 11:30

giraffe are you my friend, Emma? Shock

As a palette cleanser, here's a photo of CPV's kids Estelle and Oscar celebrating Sweden's national day. I think they may actually surpass the Cambridge kids in cuteness!

Stick some glasses on Oscar and gel his hair back and he's Daniel's mini-me.

There is some major cuteness going on in the Swedish RF offspring.

IHeartArya · 06/06/2019 12:55

They are so cute

pinkladyapples · 06/06/2019 12:57

Very cute children.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 06/06/2019 13:06

It’s not over it’s the Trumps.
More commemoration in France.
Melania has gone the Full gestapo.
Another hat from Theresa May. She’s definitely retiring tomorrow.

I think the climate change talk from Prince Charles May have fallen on deaf ears. Trump took Air Force one from Portsmouth to Ireland to check on his gold course and was back in Normandy this morning. ( I guess he wasn’t going to take the overnight cross channel ferry to Le Havre)

Camilla is looking stunning in Bayeux this morning.
Charles is wearing that gaping suit again.
Hopefully that’s the last we’ll see of Theresa May curtseying.
I think she’s either got a spinal problem or appealing posture. Instead of lowering herself gracefully with a straight back (see Kate) she looks like Gollum.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 06/06/2019 13:12

*appalling. There is nothing appealing about Theresa May’s posture

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 06/06/2019 13:14

More cute Swedish photos. They are mini CP Victoria and Daniel.
Also dressed in the Swedish National colours. ( I initially thought Ikea!)

Harry looking very dashing in Chelsea. The Royal men look good in uniform.

There was a really nice pic of the Queen on the bbc news website yesterday. In coral pink, talking to some veterans, looking as if she was really enjoying herself.

She must get a bit impatient at all the other vips speechifying about D-Day when they weren't even born, and she remembers it. And possibly knew quite a lot about what was going on.

William looks quite a lot like the Queen's uncle, Prince George, the previous Duke of Kent. The resemblance is especially strong in a pic of Prince George in RAF uniform.

AdaColeman · 06/06/2019 13:20

Camilla looked super today, and I thought TM looked more appropriately dressed at Ver-sur-Mer than in yesterday's green suit.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 06/06/2019 13:20

That photo of TM needs a caption.

"Oof! Give us a hand, Charles, there's a love..."

AnnaComnena · 06/06/2019 13:21

Camilla is looking stunning in Bayeux this morning.

Always elegant and appropriate, while not afraid to look her age and let her wrinkles show.

ElspethFlashman · 06/06/2019 13:31

This is a close up of the top of Camillas dress at the US Embassy. I really like it, I'm a total sucker for a bit of chiffon overlay, I have to admit. It's so light and pretty.

The Swedish royal kiddos are soooo cute.

Camilla looks beautiful.... like her filo pastry collar.

NoTheresa · 06/06/2019 13:35

The Royal men look good in uniform.
Probably because of the cover afforded by caps.

BertrandRussell · 06/06/2019 13:39

I don’t think there is any obligation to curtesy anyway- I so wish she wouldn’t.

ElspethFlashman · 06/06/2019 13:39

BTW, this is the necklace and earrings Camilla is wearing. They first appeared in 2005 and are said to be a gift from Charles from a tiara he bought at auction and dismantled to make into a jewellery set. She wears them pretty much more than anything else cos they go with everything formal.
