I feel a bit sorry for Melania today, she looks very 'trailing spouse.' I expect she'll look absolutely beautiful at the banquet in something with a bit of a Cape or a train.

floraloctopus · 03/06/2019 15:42

He's probably told her not to say ANYTHING to ANYONE!

Which is totally ridiculous as she's the one more likely to say something sensible.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 03/06/2019 15:45

Aquamarine blue green the Queen looks lovely per usual.
The Cambridge drop brooch was left to HM by her Grandmother Queen Mary (who was given the brooch by her mother Princess Mary Adelaide of Cambridge later Duchess of Teck)
Now Queen Mary on her father's side is descended from Hungarian royalty/nobility from Transylvania which at the time had been conquered by the Hungarians.
Through Queen Mary our HM is related to Vlad the Impaler the blood thirsty ruler of Wallachia..........the man who Bram Stoker based his Count Dracula novel on

Well the Queen is in a fairly neutral as in meaning colour but the brooch.
Well it's probably a broach HM likes but knowing the family history is HM saying I may look like an old lady but watch as out one of my ancestors was Dracula!

Apparently in any one of half a dozen languages too!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 03/06/2019 15:49

Kudos to Melania for negotiating church flagstones in those heels. Her calves must be aching.

QueenOfTheAndals · 03/06/2019 15:50

Nice theory @TracyBeakerSoYeah!

Trump's tea with Charles should be interesting, given he's a climate change denier and Charles is anything but!

Queen now would I like to be a fly on the wall at that meeting!

itswinetime · 03/06/2019 16:05

Harry did attend the event today at the palace so that's job done for him I would think.

Withdrew my last message/photo because I'd left my real name on the IG photo - duh! Sorry folks. Thanks @MNHQ!

Photo of Charles, aghast at whatever stupid thing Tango Trump has said this time....

Did Harry meet Trump? William has to tonight and after what he said about Kate I can't imagine either of them are relishing it. If I was Kate I'd be claiming food poisoning or bad period pains to get out of it!

QueenOfTheAndals · 03/06/2019 16:13

That is, I can't imagine William or Kate are relishing it. Trump himself is too thick-skinned to care.

itswinetime · 03/06/2019 16:13

I haven't seen a photo of Harry and trump. Trump has been with the queen or Charles in all the photos I have seen but surely protocol would be they are introduced at some point?

itswinetime · 03/06/2019 16:18

Nope I'm wrong the press are calling it a fleeting visit and pointing out he barely entered the room and saying he only spoke to ivanka.

He is confirmed as not attending the banquet tonight so I'm not sure when else he will be seen probably won't be.

beanaseireann · 03/06/2019 16:18

If I was Melania I would warn Donald not to say anything to anyone and that includes tweeting! Smile

AliasGrape · 03/06/2019 16:21

Charles’ face in that picture!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 03/06/2019 16:27

Melania's got a Mary Poppins hat on. Is that literal dressing?

lyralalala · 03/06/2019 16:31

He’s just so rude. That staffer was lining them up for the photo and told him to stand next to Camilla, then Charles next to him and Trump swapped him and Charles round. They always tend to mingle them for photos.

itswinetime · 03/06/2019 16:31

yes from this post it indeed seems it's Donald that should be keeping his mouth shut

Too late, @beanaseireann, he's already started on the Mayor of London!

IHeartArya · 03/06/2019 16:33

It gives me the rage that because of Brexit we are beholden to a Twit

UrsulaPandress · 03/06/2019 16:42

He is here because of the 75th Anniversary of the D Day landings. Nothing to do with Brexit.

I'm not defending him in any shape or form but it's a bit mean to not say "And here is the lovely gift you gave us last time you were here".

ElspethFlashman · 03/06/2019 16:50

It wasn't a bit mean if he actually had the bloody thing in his hand last year! You'd expect it to ring a vague bell! Especially if asked if he "remembered" it. Good god, how much leading does the imbecile need??

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 03/06/2019 16:51

I think Harry did the diplomatic thing and spoke to Ivanka and Jared
Charles and Camilla look like they have made the, selves scarce by being extremely interested in another exhibit

ElspethFlashman · 03/06/2019 16:52

Harry's face is a picture in the other photos. He's literally skulking about in the back of the room, scowling up a storm.

Don't blame him, tbh. At least he turned up.

lyralalala · 03/06/2019 16:53

His team rather dropped the ball by not reminding him what he gave the Queen.

With the Queen’s manners it was guaranteed to be on show!
