If it had been 5 years ago I'd say may e it was mean but it was a year ago and it was an exhibition of items that represents the relationship between the USA and the U.K. most people would have done some prep and checked with an aide or someone about what was brought last year it was obviously going to be on display!

Just found this. Excellent picture of HM at the Derby!

"Come on Dover, move your bloomin' arse!!!"

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 03/06/2019 17:29

Harry literally popped into the room and met Ivanka. ( You can see the back of his bald head at the back of the room)
Job done; he didn’t have to meet Trump

I think Harry will have met him. I assume there was introductions done between arrival at the palace and the showing of the artifacts done.

I don't see the Queen not having introduced the Trump's to Harry, Andrew (although they've met before) and the Gloucester's.

Tv coverage said the Kent's and the Gloucester's were there but I only saw the Gloucesters

Gingerivy · 03/06/2019 17:39

At least Ivanka wasn't wearing that fascinator/hat that is being compared on Twitter to a maxi pad on her head.

itswinetime · 03/06/2019 17:47

I don't know if Harry meet trump
Or not but I think any meeting h would always have been in private otherwise all the guff and spin is overshadowed by the meeting and that would be the photo everywhere. Which I don't think either side wants.

ElspethFlashman · 03/06/2019 17:48

You guys, it is soooo unflattering from the side. She looks like......like..... ME!!!

That's not good! 😖

And that's why she can't straighten her back.

Gingerivy · 03/06/2019 18:06

Ivanka's hat that has been discussed on Twitter as maxi pad.. with wings.

I'd like to see tat hat, Gingerivy Grin.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 03/06/2019 18:13

They are treated to a State visit and it looks as though Ivanka couldn't even be bothered to have her roots done. Trash, the lot of them.

Gingerivy · 03/06/2019 18:14

Just posted it. I have to admit it's not a great look, IMO.

SunshineCake · 03/06/2019 18:15

Ah cross post.

I don't think it was that bad Confused.

Gingerivy · 03/06/2019 18:20

The side view looks slightly better, but the front view is not great.

CaptainBrickbeard · 03/06/2019 18:29

I’m usually a lurker. I’m not a fan of Melania. But I feel roused to post in defence of that outfit - why is a very slightly rounded tummy considered so abhorrent and her dress deemed unflattering because she hasn’t got an ironing-board flat midriff? I think her figure is amazing and the side on shot looks great. A concave stomach isn’t the only attractive way to look!

RhubarbIsEvil · 03/06/2019 18:32

That picture of Harry Grin. His eyes are blazing out like daggers. You can tell that when he meets each Trump he’s thinking “you’re nasty, no YOU’RE nasty Angry

ElspethFlashman · 03/06/2019 18:35

Well sure, if you think SHE thinks that. But I really don't think she does.

But hey, if she wanted to show her tum as some sort of feminist statement, then more power to her!

We all know what a feminist she is! 👍👍👍

CaptainBrickbeard · 03/06/2019 18:36

I don’t think it’s feminist; I just think the dress looks nice.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 03/06/2019 18:42

It's more about the shape of that dress. It's designed for a flat tum. It doesn't matter that Melania hadn't got one, but I don't think her tummy bulge is an attribute she would be trying to show off. The flowing Big Ben dress was much more flattering as it showed off her waist and slim ankles.

CaptainBrickbeard · 03/06/2019 18:44

Yikes, I wear pencil skirts and tight dresses all the time with a considerably rounder tummy than Melania. I don’t think I belong in Style & Beauty but I love these royal threads!

DearDeirdre · 03/06/2019 18:48

I'm also going to wade in in defence of Melania ( wrt fashion not husbands or politics obvs) I think she looks gorgeous in the navy and white D&g

hopeishere · 03/06/2019 18:49

Ivanka's dress wouldn't look better with a pencil skirt. I like the hat.

Melania maybe bloats on a plane - I know I do.

Looking forward to the gowns tonight!!

SwimmingintheDeepBLUESea · 03/06/2019 18:50

captain it's not that her tummy is round that people have an issue with. She has an incredible figure but that dress is a smidge too small in the tummy creating an illusion of a much rounder tummy than she actually has. A dress a size bigger in that area would have made her stomach look much flatter.
