Christ does D&G have blackmail material on everyone? Kate has been wearing them twice or three times this year alone.

BlingLoving · 03/06/2019 13:19

I hate to say it but Melania looks great. She is beautiful and does really well with the formal stuff.

Haworthia · 03/06/2019 13:20

I hope the Queen has engaged in some subtle brooch warfare again. Fingers crossed for an expert opinion on Twitter later!

Gooseysgirl · 03/06/2019 13:21

I think all three ladies look fabulous! Not a huge fan of the weird button placement/collars on HM's coats recently - but heigh-ho..

HepburnKNotA · 03/06/2019 13:47

Agree re Melania's outfit for meeting HMQ. It's a nice enough outfit and she has a stunning figure tbf (the less said about her vile husband, the better) but it's too tight round the middle, gives her a round tummy that I expect she doesn't 'really' have iyswim. A size up, still tailored to fit everywhere else eg on what I imagine are relatively slim hips, would flatter her much better. I agree her figure is extremely sexy, I just think the tight skirt is all wrong when you're going for tailored and chic.

I am waiting with baited breath to see what gaffe the repugnant orange one comes out with during this visit. I'm sure he won't disappoint!

Also looking forward to tonight's frocks. Thanks for the new thread @QueenOfTheAndals

ElspethFlashman · 03/06/2019 14:04

It's this emerald drop which I'm going to look up but it loos disappointingly safe.

Bah. Its a boring one. She's playing it safe this time., knowing all eyes will be on it.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 03/06/2019 14:10

As pp said; I immediately thought of My Fair Lady when I saw Melania

Melania's dress is nice in theory, but it's too tight to be elegant.

Maybe HM is sending a message to Ireland. The Trumps are stopping off there on the way home.
This whole visit is some kind of Brexit pole dance. Which bits of the UK will the US cherry pck.
Ok. That’s enough politics

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 03/06/2019 14:19

Ivanka is wearing Alessandra Rich

I liked Melania's departure dress till I read what the print was
The arrival outfit was horrible
The one for BP looks ok but it's nothing amazing definitely a my fair lady vibe!

But I'm putting this back on the table for tonight the 2019 version of the Union Jack dress

I like the cream/white and navy that melania has on today, and I like the fact it makes her look like she has a bit of a tummy not as much as mine admittedly I think it's the kind of dress that Meghan would wear.

Missyelliottsaysso · 03/06/2019 14:41

I’m no fan of the Trumps but love Melania's white outfit. She looked elegant, in my opinion and with the hat slanted it looked like something Diana would have worn (and look amazing in).

lyralalala · 03/06/2019 14:43

I think the Queen is wearing the round Cambridge Emerald brooch

lyralalala · 03/06/2019 14:44

Cut off half my post. politically not political choosing green.

The Duchess of Gloucester is in navy - she always looks very friendly yet polished to me.

ElspethFlashman · 03/06/2019 14:51

Allesandra Rich never fails to underwhelm.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 03/06/2019 14:53

Camilla looks good today. Less pyjama party than usual.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 03/06/2019 15:22

Sorry, I don't care for Melania's outfit. It looks too tight and shows how round shouldered she is. White in the UK looks naff almost anywhere except weddings. I often like her clothes in a sort of red carpet way but it's a 'Miss' from me today. It's not very 'classy'.

lyralalala · 03/06/2019 15:26

I think it’s actually quite rude that there’s someone showing Trump around, someone showing Andrew and even one person each showing Ivanka and her husband around yet Melania is just being left to hang awkwardly around her husband and his guide chatting. They really should have had someone pointing things out to her as she actually looks interested

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 03/06/2019 15:30

I agree Melania is looking a bit neglected. She's following Trump's movements intently. I don't think she is at all confident without him taking the lead so perhaps she's glad not to have to engage with anyone. He's probably told her not to say ANYTHING to ANYONE!

Wetdogloveshubert · 03/06/2019 15:34

Interestingly, the book by Sali Hughes points out that the Queen is very rarely seen in green clothing, except for 'countryside' wear, so it's a fairly political statement on its own. The Queen is being decidedly apolitical! Can we take that as a sign that she's not playing anyone's games?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 03/06/2019 15:37

Trump and Mrs Trump look like accidental visitors to a National Trust property who have attracted the attention of a volunteer and are now being treated to a tour and detailed explanation of things they aren't remotely interested in.
