I'm growing it in from shaving it,I have no bleach left in it now.
It looks different colours depending on the light.

PaulHollywood if you are looking for a cheap way to brighten your silver then I have found that Head & Shoulders is good. I only use white, clear, blue or purple shampoos.

I'm going to look into the shampoo Coco suggested.

DID YOU HAVE TO CHAnge your clothing/make-up once yours had grown in?

I've decided to embrace mine due to a severe hair dye allergy. I have very dark hair but the streaks coming through are pure silver and I am really starting to love them. Make my eyes look very blue too.

Creightons do an excellent silver shampoo, conditioner and weekly hair masque for around a pound each in Home Bargains. I use them twice a week or so to keep silver bright.

Ahhhh you all look amazing, I’m desperate to go grey now 😄 started following grombre on Instagram too. I have a few greys, so it’s starting!

@PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair I had grand plans to overhaul my wardrobe when I lost some weight (same time as growing out my pixie) but I’m heavier the same weight still and am wearing my old black T-shirt’s, one dark pink floaty vest top and one light pink T-shirt.

Make up wise I’ve mixed it up a bit, added in blusher, tried out different eyeshadows, but prefer the taupe and greens from when my hair was brown.

mum says the family pattern on her side - which I seem to have so far - is to go grey in patches. So the pictures shown aren't reality - it would be a lot of random stripes if she didn't dye it apparently.

if she could just be silver at 80, she says she would, but apparently what's under the dye is all a patchwork.

Well your mum has probably never let it grow, so she doesn't really know what it would look like. Lots of people don't go grey/white all over until they are quite old - that's what gives the highlights effect, hair grows down and not in patches.

Would love to see anyones silver outcomes or grow outs if they feel ok with it. I am at that stage where it is seeming to take forever to grow yet when I dyed it it seemed to grow like a weed!

I take it back- rate of hair growth is impressive since I started this process- but what has really surprised me is the return of the thickness of hair I had when I was young. After every dye I would shed a load.

and this is the hairstyle I have settled on for the grow out- which should be there by the new year.

Can anyone recommend a raspberry pink matte lipstick? I definitely need to brighten up on that front.

Strictly speaking I didn’t shave mine to get rid of regrowth; it was to support my DD. But this was mine at the start of 2016.

I'm going the 'grombre' route..... it looks pretty weird at the moment but next cut most of the blonde dye will be gone.

I've had my OH attack mine today, with his shaving kit - started with a no 8 then 4 and then 2...all over. Still got shades of red but I'll redo it each weekend until it is grey all over and then grow it out.

I'm having chemo at the moment and my hair is falling out. I'm almost at the shaving stage to make it a little less traumatic and I'm hoping that when it grows back, it grows back grey. Some love shades of grey on here.

No longer dye mine either but I didn't shave it, I just had some highlights put in to blend in the grey but don't even bother with that now. Much happier!

Mine is certainly salt and pepper @RosaWaiting, here's mine three years after shaving. It's certainly the best thing Ive ever done hair-wise, even though it's not as beautifully silver as some of the women on here.

I live in hope!
