Are we allowed to talk swimwear?
My swimsuit has arrived and is a keeper. It’s just a black swimsuit but made so much better by the embroidery (didn’t like any of the tropical prints I saw) so if you’re on the lookout for cup sized swimwear I recommend it.
Not modelling (don’t wish to hurt your eyes Grin) but here’s a link to it. I got with 25% off still running.
Also the matching beach dress but although quite cheap I don’t like the dress at all so returning.
Next I have a plain black bargainous Fantasie bikini coming from Amazon...we shall see even if it fits whether I’ll actually have the courage to wear on hols...I’m really stupid as when I get to the beach and see all the shapes/sizes/ages on show I always end up regretting not buying one.
But this black one will do nicely as my “safe” one www.figleaves.com/uk/figleaves-pacha-underwired-halter-embroidered-shaping-swimsuit/FIG-012584.html?dwvar_FIG-012584_color=752960&cgid=swimwear-swimsuits#start=40

The bikini (still to come) Hmm but attached pic shows, plain and fairly modest. Only danger is it looks a bit like underwear! Grin

Just want to say I agree with ella re denim jackets. I dug mine out this year for the first time in about 6 years and it looks great over a plain dress. I bought mine from TK Maxx for my fortieth birthday (was in Uni at the time) and I only paid about £10. It's cropped which works for me as I'm a fun sized (how my daughter describes us as she's even smaller than me) and I don't think I've ever had such a bargain

ilovecherries · 29/05/2019 18:08

Words I never thought I would hear in relation to me: ‘you always look so stylish’ 😂🤣😂. Said by woman at post office as I returned a parcel.

Ellapaella · 29/05/2019 18:31

I love those bikinis @SoyYo
I have never been a one for bikinis but have in fact just two days ago ordered my first ever bikini. It's similar to your black one pictured there. Mine has a high waist to hopefully cover c section scars and apron.

Hello everyone. Kind of fallen off the thread as I have been busy at work. @ella, the blue dress is stunning on you. The top shop one is too big for you. It might be better if you size down? It's pretty big on the shoulders and at the bust. I agree with everyone that says you look great in everything you have posted and it is definitely not you but the dress.
@cherries, I had the Monaco trousers. I think they look best cropped like you have them. On the model in past seasons they were like that. I sold mine. I loved them at the start but they ended up getting strange lines on them so I sold them on.
@melen. The sandals are very pretty.
So in hush talk, I returned the jumpsuit. Just wasn't prepared to take the chance of shrinkage. I kept the pretty veria skirt though. Its been so wet here so haven't worn at them moment.
I think I will probably look at the dresses and trousers before the code ends. Not sure if I will order anything as nothing jumps out at me. Also tempted by the toast jumpsuits. I may just order one to try. Kept the black santana. I really like it but again the weather has been rubbish so haven't worn.
@soyo, love the kimono. I have the same one in olive. I have worn it already!! I put it over a tee and skinny jeans. The swimsuits look good. I bought a boden one [ a tankini] for the first time ever. I absolutely love it. Its beautiful rainbow stripes. Its the most flattering swimsuit I have ever had.

dontcallmelen · 29/05/2019 19:10

Lovely swimsuits Soy
Yy Boden swimwear, I have a few & they are really good also have a Lands End one that was a real bargain from Debenhams sale last year.
Dgd currently sounds like a very grumpy Phil Mitchell (again Soy😂) she has a rotten cold & cough n sore throat, got lots of cuddles though & apparently I’m her princess😍

Laska2Meryls · 29/05/2019 20:02

I do wear a bikini , but this year , I am not sure if I'll be able to see the bottoms when I look down as I am spectacularly failing again at the diet.. I dont know why i cant seem to stick to it right now as usually i can be so disciplined..

Ah well, I shall be a huge fat porky pig whale on the beach this year it seems.. Sad. I always buy Panache or Freya or Fantasie , but always from discount places like Belle lingerie and often 'last years' styles ( BL are a really good btw ).

My Jigsaw stuff should be here tomorrow.

Came home to an empty house, it felt quite strange, even DH was out ..

neveradullmoment99 · 29/05/2019 20:29

So re ordered the Moritz as they were in stock in a 12 because I have worn and worn the next ones that were both black and blue. Then just a t-shirt because I love the colour in the green/blue shade.

neveradullmoment99 · 29/05/2019 20:30

I am not doing that great either @Laska. I do my fast days but end up over eating on the other days :(

ilovecherries · 29/05/2019 20:38

I’m waiting for this to arrive, plus a plain black one. I just buy cheap bikini shorts in black and navy from m&co.

ilovecherries · 29/05/2019 20:40

They have lots of nice curvy Kate ones, but somehow they just don’t work for me, so just buy whatever Panache offers they have.

EachandEveryone · 29/05/2019 20:44

Ive spend a fortune on that Jo Malone promotion so no clothes for me for awhile.

Cousins twins born yesterday.

Best friend is in labour first baby.

I think i know what shopping needs to be done 😃 if you have seen anything gorgeous please let me know.

dontcallmelen · 29/05/2019 20:59

Aww congratulations on cousins new twins & hope all goes well with best friend Each John Lewis & Boden usually have lovely baby stuff.

justilou1 · 29/05/2019 21:14

Funny story... went to a party with a bajillion 12 & 13 year old girls. One of the other mums there had recently moved here from the UK, and commented that I didn’t “dress like an Aussie.” (Thank you, God!” She was lamenting the loss of choice from the UK - of course and told me that she lurks on this page! *waves (she knows)

Laska2Meryls · 29/05/2019 21:29

I tried these M&S wide jeans on today in ecru. they are really nice and if you get the short they are very like the Moritz and Chaminox in width and length.. ( they are definitely wider than they look on the model) I only didn't buy the ones in the shop because they were dirty and the only pair they had ( also I want to see if I like the Jigsaw ones coming tomorrow better), But as they are low stock in my size I have just ordered them anyway .The pink look nice too..
I have also ordered this top in the yellow and the khaki again I tried the yellow on today but I wanted to get the free postage so have bought online instead

Laska2Meryls · 29/05/2019 21:30

actually they may have been these ones in ecru Iv eordered both JIC .. anyway they were nice!

neveradullmoment99 · 29/05/2019 21:45

They are really nice @laska. Wish they had them in the lovely pale wash.

miffy2 · 29/05/2019 21:57

I followed up my phone call to Hush with an email, and they responded today.
They said they would send out another Betarice in blueberry (I replied saying not to bother as it is massive on me and I don't like the colour)
They also said they would give me a £20 voucher to make up for the fact that the navy monaco are now sold out (I could go for a 14 but fear they would be too baggy and I like how the 12 fits) and that they would refund my postage (how? as I had free delivery).

Anyway the £20 gesture is good and I will spend it, while also keeping a beady eye out for a size 12 :)

My second Hush order arrived and it was much better. A sloppy joe in the most gorgeous blue, much nicer IRL than on the site. This is my 3rd in this style and I love it. I also nabbed a wide jersey stripe in my usual Medium...this is definitely thinner and smaller fitting than the plain ones but it will be perfect with my cropped black Gap trousers. Thinking Audrey Hepburn vibes... :D

I also ordered these in both shades and will pick them up on Friday. They seem to come in stock in very small quantities and I was lucky to spot them in 12 at different times, so 2 separate orders. Fingers crossed.

Ella that Monsoon dress is stunning. I think the Topshop one does you no favours as it is too big on top.

I find Stories dresses are not usually cut for the well-endowed. But I love the style of their clothes and have some sweaters and skirts that I love. And their jewellery always gets me compliments and doesn't break the bank.

Laska good tip on the m&S jeans, I will definitely check them out. I picked up one of their relaxed fit Ts today in white and it is lovely, has a good cap sleeve. I will definitely buy more colours. It says it is longline but I found it a pretty normal length on me (mind you I find their Ts can be quite short on me)

miffy2 · 29/05/2019 21:59

Ella I hope my comment about the TS dress did not come across as too abrupt! I meant to follow it by saying it should be stunning on you and would be if it was more fitted, as the drop waist is lovely. Could you try a smaller size?

Ellapaella · 29/05/2019 22:06

@miffy2 not at all - I feel the same! Unfortunately a size 10 in TopShop will not fit me and this is a 12 so it's gone back. I think the problem is partly because I am so flat chested and have quite narrow shoulder. Glad you got £20 back from Hush - the Least they could do really. What will you order instead?

OP posts:
miffy2 · 29/05/2019 22:11

@Ella I am not sure, I may keep it (when they send it to me!) for when I need a treat. There is nothing screaming BUY ME right now.

SoyYo · 29/05/2019 23:03

Thanks for the swimwear 👌girls, the black with the lovely embroidery elevates it from being frumpy to rather lovely and the g cups fit and boobs feel secure. Also I prefer high leg bottoms as my hips/thighs are not bad and that ticked those boxes too. It’s my first Figleaves swimsuit and I’m impressed by the quality (also has light tummy control which is highly appreciated).
Yes the black bikini was very cheap @cherries, they also had the bra at Belle Lingerie but only size S bottoms and didn’t want to risk them being tight so ordered from another Amazon retailer same price as Belle Lingerie but bottoms in M. I thought about higher bottoms but I think I prefer a matching set and the ruched bottoms look pretty modest (just below belly button) so fingers crossed!
On Boden I totally love their swimwear and when I was even fatter than now I could order their size 16 and be okay but since losing weight 3 years ago the problem is the boob size still fits but the rest of the swimsuits and tankinis are HUGE on the body Angry. If you can fit their swimwear TTS top and bottom then yes I’d recommend too.

Well more lovely links from @laska! Love the first M&S trousers, the pale pink is lovely.

@miffy the modal joggers you linked are perfect Amies dupes no? I’m glad you got the £20 good will voucher out of Hush too and look forward to hearing on what you think of your next haul.

@len poor Phil Mitchell! Grin adorable raspy baby.

@justi can’t believe your new UK friend reads this thread Grin 👋 hellooo there! (Actually good reminder as sometimes I totally forget I’m on a public MN forum Blush and feel I’m chatting to old mates as I don’t read other S&B threads that often...)

Tomorrow will bring more positive fashion news I hope!
Good night

SoyYo · 29/05/2019 23:20

Forgot to add
@never glad you kept the skirts let’s hope the weather improves soon so they can get the outing they deserve, thanks for kimono tip too! I’m taking mine on hols with the Gudrun.

@Each new babies!! How lovely! Last time I bought any baby clothes was for my cousins daughter last year when she had a baby in Spain. I got her an adorable Boden all in one white baby suit with bear ears! (It was winter). Really good quality and her baby girl wore it lots in the milder Spanish winter. What Fun!

SoyYo · 29/05/2019 23:21

@Ella we’re on the same wavelength re bikinis Wink

twosoups1972 · 29/05/2019 23:58

@melen really pretty sandals. Hope dgd is feeling a bit better

@cherries what a lovely compliment!

Some nice trousers being posted here. I'm still after the perfect white jeans, don't want them too wide but not skinny either.
