Hello everyone.. new thread.. god knows what number we're on to now?

I have been AWOL for ages, looks like I've missed lots. I've ordered the stripe trainers I've been lusting after for a while and the new turn up hem trousers plus some stuff from Boden.

NotAnActualSheep · 21/05/2019 19:06

nink & soups - will you PLEASE stop talking about bags. There are some lovely ones there and I really can't afford those! I'm still swithering over the Gigi crossbody... I like the whistles taco bag! I thought, "oh, it looks like a taco" - then I saw that it was supposed to!

laska - you look brilliant. I really love the bag crossbody. It looks pretty comfortable to wear and goes well with your outfit. Definitely a good buy.

writers (not sure if anyone else has replied?) - I think the jacket sizing is a bit random this year. Some are enormous (wrens), but apparently the military jacket comes up pretty small. Not sure where the denim jacket fits in that spectrum...I think never has it, so can maybe advise? Jumpsuits seem generally relatively true to hush sizing (or the ones I have tried) - though I think the harem pants are on the larger side of that. I'd probably go for your harem size if they are really baggy, but if you've sized down in the harems to get a neater fit I would maybe go up one size?? Who knows?! Which jumpsuit are you interested in?

gin -Cor - the cruise sounds exciting! We went to Slovenia several years ago and it is beautiful - and i've heard good things about croatia. Though i have to say, from the photos you put up yesterday, no way do you look nearly 50- Your skin is so clear! I have to say - I did have the "can I wash it" thought about the embroidered dress too! The info on the website says you can, though they have been known to get that wrong, so I'll see what the label in the dress says. It says its been dispatched, so hopefully I'll get it tomorrow, or maybe Thurs.

miffy - bother about missing the monacos and wide top - though hopefully there will be returns. The Nini dress is cute (a bit like the marissa?), and I agree the folded trousers look super-useful.

soups - your buys sound great too - hopefully the Miriam works for you! And good on Customer services! (Was the hampstead top on brand alley does anyone remember? In which case there may be a few knocking around?). Really well done on your run - and baking. Fingers crossed for DD1's exam - that sounds rather difficult.

NotAnActualSheep · 21/05/2019 19:11

Oh - I hadn't seen your latest photos laska - the black skirt with the V neck looks brilliant! (Maybe try the v neck with the stripe santana or another black skirt to see if it works as well, if you aren't sure you'll keep- or have you done that?) The yellow jumper is really good on you - and at least you know you will use it this time! The shirt looks good, but i think you said you had lots of checked shirts anyway, and if you aren't sure on the colours it doesn't sound as if it is plugging a wardrobe gap.

Hi codfish! The trainers are brill - I've worn mine loads...

Writersblock2 · 21/05/2019 19:14

@NotAnActualSheep - nobody had yet, thanks so much for replying. Might just take the risk in the denim jacket though I’m seconded guessing now I see they say “boxy”. The military jacket is gorgeous. Oh decisions! I’m terms of jumpsuits I was drawn to Bambi but I like the new Eleni one too. The harem pants I have right now I bought big but I’ve lost weight since so now they’re ridiculous. Time for a new pair I think. Might just wait for payday and go for it. :)

twosoups1972 · 21/05/2019 19:40

Sorry about the bag talk @sheep Smile I really recommend the Aurora Gigi, it's a great quality bag for the money. Having bought a couple of Mulberries in the past before they got so hideously expensive (or bought in the sale), I don't think I'd spend a complete fortune on a bag again. There are other really nice brands that are cheaper, Coach for example do lovely bags.

PorpoisefullyObtuse · 21/05/2019 19:57

Hi all! Still not had a chance to try on my purchases.

I bought the Corsica a few months ago and went to try it on last night having washed it. Damn thing has shrunk to fit my 10 year old! Slight exaggeration but so annoyed. Need to contact Hush and can’t actually be bothered by any more hassle this week. So annoyed as it was a truly lovely dress.

dontcallmelen · 21/05/2019 20:09

Laska love the serin jumper colour looks fab on you, also the stripe top/bag combo is lowly as well.
Gin ooh cruise sounds amazing, just catching up a bit as been out all day.
I have retried the Miriam I’m not sure, the seam across the front sort of goes across the boobs rather than under iykwim, I have room in it but maybe need to size up it is very comfy though & the cotton is nice quality anyway a not very good pic included.

Ninkaninus · 21/05/2019 20:12

Sorry! Blush bags are my one true love so I can very easily get carried away...

I agree, the Gigi looks really good quality, pretty much perfect design, and great value for money, if I didn’t already have a couple of bags on my radar I definitely would get one. Everyone should have at least one small crossbody/shoulder bag that is smart enough to go with a more dressy outfit but also perfect for lifting a casual outfit.

Also, since you usually use a ‘battered old rucksack’ (I think it was you that said it.? Or was it someone else? I have a terrible memory!), I think you should think about getting a lovely new rucksack/backpack. Maybe a nice leather one??

Sorry, I just can’t help it, I want everyone to have at least one beautiful bag, preferably more than one!

twosoups1972 · 21/05/2019 20:32

melen it looks nice on but see what you mean about the seam. I’m looking forward to trying mine when it arrives.

dontcallmelen · 21/05/2019 20:36

Soups baking sounds really good, I do hope dd will be ok 🤞🏻
Trying desperately to keep away from bag links, sacred I will start lusting after them, I do have a coach bag though & some pretty clutch bags.

NotAnActualSheep · 21/05/2019 20:57

writers - those jumpsuits are both lovely! I do love a wide leg, so may be tempted by the new one later on if its still around. And yes - definitely go for some new harems Grin - they are so comfy and useful. I don't wear mine "smartly" though i know some people do (ella looks amazing in hers) but they are great for home working and pilates, and even pyjamas (I get the sleeper train overnight to London sometimes, and they are ideal for rocking up to the station at 11pm, sleeping in, and then getting out the other end to use the shower at Euston without having to change Blush. And I have even been complimented on them in that event - though I'm assuming that was ironic!).

soups and nink - Yes, I do need to up my bag game. Well remembered nink! I do carry all my belongings in a rucksack - though i did get a new one just before Christmas so its not too battered at the moment and I do love it for everyday... one of these, in acorn - or "brown" as urban outfitters seems to call it . It needs to be big enough to carry all sorts of guff or I wouldn't use it (I hate having a separate bag for DS's coats/ water bottles/ book/ rubiks cube etc) - so I don't think a nice compact leather one would work. But my "other" bag for when it is just me, is a tan crossbody which I got with vouchers from leaving my job-before-last in about 2014, so is getting on a bit and is showing it... i think it was this one . So yy, I do deserve a new one...but equally, I do have other bags that I do like and should "promote" (a hush foldover one with a lovely star lining, and a fossil hobo one in a nice blush/neutral for example). But the size of the crossbody is just ideal for me (can fit a glasses case/ canvas bag etc as well as purse/ phone/ keys/ lipstick etc - but doesn't feel too big). But i probably will end up getting the Gigi... (though the refer a friend didn't actually ever send me an email soups ...not sure why - would you be able to try that again, please...?)

porpoise - what a pain about the dress shrinking. Thats not good... Definitely try contacting hush when you feel up to it.

len - that looks lovely on you. It does look so comfortable. It doesn't look like you need to size up - and neither does the V look indecent! But you know how it feels on you better, and yes, I can see what you mean about the seam too!

Ellapaella · 21/05/2019 21:00

@Writersblock2 I'm tagging @neveradullmoment99 for you to ask about sizing on the denim jacket (although I see Not has also replied, I know Never definitely has that one).
@Laska2Meryls I love all your pics - particularly like the yellow jumper actually with the black crop trousers but everything looks nice, bag is great too.
I am officially on a no spend June now - we've just paid a large amount of cash to kitchen fitter and so I really need to scale back a bit on spends as I also have a girls weekend away lined up in a few weeks. I don't need anything, I just wanted the Monsoon jumpsuit. Might just squeeze that it before my virtuous stint begins. So many lovely summer things....sigh 😩

Sorry more kitchen pictures... all finished bar the hanging light to be fitted tomorrow over the island and island chairs to buy. So pleased with it. Thinking of a nice piece of artwork for the wall.. we have some great local artists so choosing something is my next project. Can't seem to get a picture of the full kitchen on my phone so taking two separate ones to show you all. Sorry for kitchen talk!

Oh I like both of those, fjällräven is really good quality, and the good thing about the tan crossbody is it’s the kind of bag that looks great with a bit of wear. Still think you should get the Gigi. What colour are you thinking of getting it in?

Laska I feel silly but I can actually remember if I’ve thanked you for your modelling of the bag! Very helpful, and you look great wearing it!

Flowers to everyone feeling under the weather or in trying situations, and fingers crossed for all exam takers!

Huffthepuff · 21/05/2019 21:14

Not I love those kanken rucksacks. Have admired them but never bought one. Would be interested in the black one for holiday when I'll need to carry all of mine and DS's bits for the plane.

Try FRIEND to get 15% off the Gigi. Just as an experiment you understand... there's no obligation to complete the purchase 😉

Len the Miriam looks cracking on you, perfect length. Def try sizing up so you can compare while the discounts are still running. My size 8 was delivered today but can't get my hands on it until tomorrow. Then I can make a decision on which to return. It's such a throw on, comfortable dress it would be a shame not to be 100% sure you've got the best fit possible

Ellapaella · 21/05/2019 21:24

Oh sorry Len totally missed your pic - apologies, not been on much today and the threads been busy. I think the dress looks lovely on you, not sure about sizing up though it looks plenty big enough - my only worry would be whether the wind would be blowing it up and revealing too much as it looks quite floaty. The Santana skirt does that to me - slightest bit of breeze and it's away!

OP posts:
Ninkaninus · 21/05/2019 21:27

Sorry, haven’t looked at outfits (actually having problems with my eyes at the moment so can’t spend loads iof time reading through full thread which is why I’m not engaging much with what people have said throughout - only reading the last few comments each time). But I’m sure you’re all very stylish and put together as per usual!

Ninkaninus · 21/05/2019 21:28

Ella your kitchen is lovely. One should never apologise for kitchen talk!

dontcallmelen · 21/05/2019 21:31

Ella kitchen looks really lovely 😍 & definitely a nice colourful local piece of artwork would look brilliant, talk kitchens all day with me if you like😂 what colour did you use on the walls?
Thanks everyone.
I have ordered a couple of the cami bra thingys, so going to hang on till I get those, then try on again & decide to keep/size up or return.

Ellapaella · 21/05/2019 21:35

@dontcallmelen Farrow and Ball no 201 - omg amazing paint! I'm a convert. If we win the lottery I'll paint the whole house with it. @Ninkaninus - thanks 😊I'm so pleased with it, DH didn't get much of a say and went along with my choice of everything but happily he's really pleased with it all too.

@NotAnActualSheep

Once there was a Sheep who was Not yet complete cos she had just one bag on her mind
Her kanken was for trampling and her Temperley was exemplary but the Gigi was a bag so divine
A crossbody with a tassel s’always fun, never a hassle. Use code ‘friend’ and you’ll love what you find

Huffthepuff · 21/05/2019 21:49

Huffthepuff · 21/05/2019 21:52

Haha dodgy signal so I wrote it twice and it posted both versions! You can decide which you prefer 😂

twosoups1972 · 21/05/2019 21:54

@sheep not sure why they didn’t email you, I will try it again.

@ella kitchen looks great. I love house stuff, seeing the change is great.

twosoups1972 · 21/05/2019 22:01

@sheep just tried it again but it said I’d already given your email address...? Have you checked yr junk mail?
