I had tear trough fillers and lip fillers done recently. Cost me £580 in all!!’ I’m not convinced it was actually worth it. I think if I had it again I would have the triangle filler we discussed which is tear troughs plus top of cheeks.

Lip fillers are just a lost cause on me. I have no lip definition at all and all the fillers seem to do is make applying lip liner difficult. I was looking at the lip threading that seems to be becoming popular. Where they kind of make a thread of filler so your lip line looks defined. I couldn’t make up my mind about it though so I’ll probably just resolve myself to like my thin lips.

@AmIAWeed you can absolutely eat what you want! Your friend is being a bit dramatic. You just have to avoid extreme facial movements or extreme lip massages for the first day as you have a small chance of moving the filler around. I have never been told to avoid eating certain food for a week!

sheshootssheimplores · 19/05/2019 18:09

In fact I’ve grabbed a recent photo and an old one and there pretty much is zero difference. I had i full syringe split between both lips about two months ago. I think it’s probably already disappeared 🙄

GimmeBread · 19/05/2019 18:09

I've had Juvederm twice now and while the long terms affects are amazing the immediate effects, not so much. I had an allergic reaction I think which lasted a couple of days then it died down. Im happy but I'll get more in the bottom lip the next time. 0.5ml in each lip.

Disneymum1993 · 19/05/2019 18:10

I have 1ml every 3-6months and it stings slightly but nothinf major.i love them x

GimmeBread · 19/05/2019 18:13

And no, no problems with eating, applying products or makeup etc. Just an ice pack and antihistamines for a couple of days. Next time I'll get it done on Friday to give me a couple of days for swelling to go down.

Papellino · 19/05/2019 18:15

sheshootssheimplores, you don't have what I'd describe as thin lips! I'm assuming the lighter picture on the left is the before?

MidsomerBurgers · 19/05/2019 18:31

@GimmeBread

Why are you having more of a substance that you think you are allergic to injected into your face?

I've seen people with anaphylaxis and it's fucking scary how fast it happens! Why take the risk? The reaction often happens after subsequent ingestions.

What is the back up plan from your practitioner if you have a bad reaction?

sheshootssheimplores · 19/05/2019 18:34

Yes the left was before, the right after.

I do go outside my natural lip line slightly with a lip liner. They really are quite thin with no make up on.

I reposted as I left thumbnails of my kids in the photos I posted initially 😬

Papellino · 19/05/2019 18:39

There's little difference really but I do prefer the before picture. Perfectly proportioned.

GimmeBread · 19/05/2019 18:39

@MidsomerBurgers probably because I have allergic reactions to everything! But seriously I thought it was a one off the first time but when had a similar reaction the second time, Ive decided to go with a different product the next time.

Seriously I react to everything and if I tried to avoid it I wouldn't do anything.

sheshootssheimplores · 19/05/2019 18:43

To be honest i think if I did it again I’d just have my upper lip done.

I do wonder if this trend for big lips my flip totally on its head. For some reason the other day I was watching some cosmetic surgery videos on the Kardashians and Kylie looked so much better before. There was this wonderful youthfulness about her face before the crazy lip fillers. Maybe the thin lip will come back in as a trend.

loveskaka · 21/05/2019 19:22

What's does all your lips feel like with the filler in? Hard/lumpy?

Mummyoftwo91 · 21/05/2019 19:56

Feels like my normal lips, I had Juvederm, not sure what other filler brands feel like

Duster12 · 21/05/2019 23:53

Lip fillers look so daft 😂

Scion457 · 22/05/2019 06:46

They’re so bloody distracting too! I’m watching ‘The Affair’ Maura Teirney is an absolute fantastic actress, she’s just brilliant in it. I can not take my eyes off her lips, they detract from everything she looks like she’s pouting all the time!!

Scion457 · 22/05/2019 06:51

She’s so beautiful, much prefer the before (picture on the right if it’s not obvious).

I've had lip fillers a few times it does hurt but it's bareable just ask to have numbing cream on for half hour. The reas8i stopped is because it was so unpredictable sometimes it would be great others I'd have black bruising around my mouth for a week and for something that last a couple of months not worth it to me. I also have a daughter now and think it would be horrible for her to see me all swollen for a week every few months. To those who really can't live with their small top lip there is a lip lift procedure that can be really effective and natural looking.

MoltonSilver · 22/05/2019 08:55

The photos on this thread have confirmed my opinion that lip fillers always look like lip fillers, which is fine if that's the look you like but they never look natural.

BusterGonad · 22/05/2019 09:08

And it isn't good for your children to think that they need to do stuff to themselves to look beautiful, I think it's important to teach children that how you look is good enough, just like growing up with your mum and sister thinking they are fat, and always on diets has made me feel that I'm never thin enough. It's a thing I've battled with all my life. It's horrible.

Harebel · 22/05/2019 18:22

It's amazing how we're all calling them 'thin lips' when they're actually not really but perhaps if you're comparing them to the "filler" look they are.

I think people have more character & attractiveness about them with their individual lip shapes but I do get it. We're spoon fed to look like a certain way whatever is fashionable and it's a natural human trait to want to fit in and follow the crowd.

BusterGonad · 23/05/2019 02:02

All this Botox, fillers and lip fillers is such a boring look. Why would you?

Delatron · 23/05/2019 12:24

I think all three together and overdoing it are the key to it looking wrong.

Though I personally don’t think lip filler ever
looks good.

sheshootssheimplores · 23/05/2019 12:30

Maybeitsjustmeor I’d be interested for sure. Is it just called a ‘lip lift’ or is there a specific name?

To the people who are enjoying coming on here being scathing to those who have had non surgical procedures, hopefully you are feel satisfyingly smug now and can toddle off 🙄
