Previous thread

And as promised, here's a guide to the acronyms we use on these threads:

HM - the Queen
DoE - Prince Philip
PM - Princess Margaret
QM - the Queen Mum
W&K - William and Kate
H&M - Harry and Meghan
C&C - Charles and Camilla
B&E - Beatrice and Eugenie
Max & Wax - Maxima and Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands
CPV - Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden
HCP - (Hot) Carl-Philip of Sweden
CPM - Crown Princess Mary of Denmark
Mar & Fre - CPM when she’s with her husband, Frederik of Denmark
SWFM - (Single White Female) Marie of Denmark, on account of resembling several other royal women!
HH&MM - (Hottie) Haakon and Mette-Marit of Norway
SFF - (Silver Fox) Felipe of Spain

I think that’s all of them??

I don't think Eugenie is pregnant. She's not even 30 yet so she has plenty of time ahead of her!

Both Flora and Zenouska are on Instagram and seem to live very lovely lives! Flora's father is rather easy on the eye too!

It must be nice being Ella or Flora or the Gloucester sisters. Plenty of money and all the perks of royalty - weddings, a place on the balcony at the Trooping, HM's Christmas lunch at Sandringham, Ascot - but relative anonymity and no tedious royal duties.

Bride looked beautiful, her bouquet was gorgeous. I was stunned at how alike the groom and Pippa's DH are... she obviously has a 'type' 😉

I didn't like many outfits, thought HM looked great; she really suits the bright colours, good to see DoE looking well. Carole Middleton looked lovely too, I thought.

yellowalstroemeria · 18/05/2019 21:47

Clicked on Flora Ogilvy's instagram to be nosey and she has a picture of the bride and groom cutting the cake

I'm not as keen on her dress as I was initially, the teeny tiny ruffles in rows put me off.

hotcrossbun4321 · 18/05/2019 21:50

Gosh, she does look like Ivanka in Flora's Insta photo!

UrsulaPandress · 18/05/2019 21:51

Yes it must be great being a minor royal.

Thedarklady · 18/05/2019 21:57

She looks better than the robotic Complicity Barbie Ivanka.

Gabriela looked beautiful, her dress was amazing and the tiara was esquisite.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 18/05/2019 22:12

To pp who asked if Kate will sit further away without William; the answer appears to be yes. At the Anzac Day service; royals in order of seniority were Harry, ( Prince, royal duke, grandson of reigning monarch) duke of Gloucester, royal prince and grandson of former monarch ( George V) then Kate.

UrsulaPandress · 18/05/2019 22:13

It must be exhausting.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 18/05/2019 22:13

Must irk the minor royals a bit being poor relations but having to look at he part, without the funding.

MotherofPearl · 18/05/2019 22:13

To be honest, I think she looks a bit like Zara - those teeth seem pure Windsor to me.

AudacityOfHope · 18/05/2019 22:16

It's a bit weird to be surprised at the higher royals attending because the bride is far down the order of succession.

They are family besides everything else. Confused

Daisypie · 18/05/2019 22:25

I always have the impression the Queen is deeply fond of her cousins and their families.

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/05/2019 22:27

I hardly think they're poor relations @CurlyWurlyTwirly, none of them are short of a penny! Must be great to be able to go to royal dos but also live your life on your own terms and be free from the criticism Kate or Meghan constantly get.

They might be family but I don’t think a lot of people invite third cousins to thei wedding

escapade1234 · 18/05/2019 22:29

Yes, it’s lovely that the Queen was there - and didn’t Prince Philip look marvellous?

UrsulaPandress · 18/05/2019 22:29

I would if she were’t Queen.

escapade1234 · 18/05/2019 22:32

The third cousins argument was made after H&M’s wedding when a lot of the minor royals weren’t invited. I still found it very odd given a lot of them live at Kensington Palace and so are much closer, at least geographically, than most are with their third cousins. And they all go off and have Christmas lunch together - I certainly don’t do that with my extended family.

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/05/2019 22:34

I think the royal cousins are more closer knit than most as HM had to rely on them to take on a lot of duties when she became queen - the DoK and Princess Alexandra, and later the Gloucesters, had to all step up and do their bit as working royals. In fact I think the old duke of Gloucester had to drop what he was doing and be on standby as regent in case anything happened to HM and the DoE before Charles came of age.

I’m looking forward to the Trooping the Colour. interesting to see the balcony lineup changing over the last few decades

The Duchess of Kent was so beautiful and stylish back in the day.
Interesting that Zara has never appeared as an adult.

Also back to today’s wedding; did anyone spot Princess Alexandra. ? Her children and grandchildren were there...

I'm sure Zara has been in the balcony? I think she just tends to blend in the back away from the more 'popular royals' that the cameras focus on

That's her in the white with a pink hat next to anne isn't it? Or Is it just a family resemblance and it's someone else?

Kensington palace has put some rather lovely pictures of Kate's garden on twitter. Some lovely smiley faces, with relaxed clothing. Kate's obviously been a busy bee!

Clankboing · 18/05/2019 22:44

I'm wondering whether there was a theme to the wedding? Such as vintage or retro?

Haworthia · 18/05/2019 22:45

Anne was back to work after the wedding this afternoon!
