My child is the future King of the United Kingdom. Don’t you think he should have been a page boy?

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/05/2019 19:27

Or Ella herself "My mother has already been married twice but is trying to take over my wedding"

@CurlyWurlyTwirly - I agree that the colours are a bit insipid on her - I think I was just so relieved to see some clean lines and non-patterned fabric after all the frou-frou horrors from today that I got carried away! Grin

MrsJakeLovell · 18/05/2019 19:28

Princess Anne apparently first wore that outfit in 2009!

Amelia Windsor looks like she borrowed her dress from Grayson Perry!

I loved the Brides dress - my favourite of the three weddings at Winsdor this year!

Meghan: "To use my newborn as an excuse to stay away from DH's racist cousin's daughter's wedding"

I wonder if Princess Anne has kept her figure or has a very good dressmaker altering her clothes?

OP posts:
MrsJakeLovell · 18/05/2019 19:34

I suspect she's kept her figure anyway - but also has someone to properly store, repair, clean and alter her clothes as needed!

beanaseireann · 18/05/2019 19:38

Sarah Chatto loves her cardis Smile
CurlyWurlyTwirly I like your post of 33 mins ago re Eugenie's absence from the wedding.

Or perhaps she posted the message on Instagram through gritted teeth cos she hadn't got an invite from "Dear Ella and Tom" yet her Mum, Dad, sister, Granny and Grandad had. Smile

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 18/05/2019 19:41

Meghan: To refuse on principle to go to a child free wedding even though DM has offered to look after DS1?

desertgirl · 18/05/2019 19:51

I am pretty sure the curtesy thing is a misunderstanding by the tabloids of precedence. The “blood princesses” take precedence but they don’t have to go round curtsying to each other according to precedence..... am pretty sure that within the family it’s only to HMQ - something to do with difference in status (majesty vs. royal highness vs. serene highness or just ‘highness’ vs pleb...)

Inniu · 18/05/2019 20:00

If William isn’t with Kate but George is who does she curtesy too?

floraloctopus · 18/05/2019 20:04

Grin or Hyacinth Bucket.
floraloctopus · 18/05/2019 20:06

In theory Kate should curtsy to George but doesn't because it'd just be too daft.

Mookie81 · 18/05/2019 20:13

Beatrice is one of the best dressed and the best she's ever looked in my humble opinion. Grin

BigGlasses · 18/05/2019 20:31

The men didn’t look that well turned out either I didn’t think. The groom has a really mishmash of colours, beige waistcoat, blue shirt with white collar (I hate those) and a red tie. Did he get dressed in the dark Confused. And Prince harry was wearing a dark blue waistcoat which I didn’t think went with his grey trousers, and black coat.

Bride looked radiant. Prince Michael looked smart too

queenofarles · 18/05/2019 20:41

In theory Kate should curtsy to George but doesn't because it'd just be too daft. imagine her curtsying when she wakes him up for school , “morning your majesty” Grin

The men didn’t look that well turned out either.
Some looked like they just rolled out of bed and put a suit on.
Andrew looks a mess

escapade1234 · 18/05/2019 20:45

Nobody would have expected Meghan to go, two weeks after giving birth. It’s odd that Kate didn’t go though, given how many other high profile royals did. Surely she doesn’t abstain from weddings because she fears drawing attention from the bride? That can’t be right. I think the bride is always the star on her wedding day.

I’m another one who didn’t like the brides dress. Fabric too busy and bumpy. Agile neither one thing nor the other. Maybe it just didn’t photograph well.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 18/05/2019 20:52

Love this pic of knackered flower girls!

Side view of the designer. She looks like a trompe l’oeil Of a herbaceous border!

SenecaFalls · 18/05/2019 21:00

As desertgirl said, they don't curtsey and bow to people of the same rank. HRHs are the same rank, whether by blood or marriage. The order of precedence has nothing to do with curtseying or bowing; it's about who arrives when, what order people process in, etc.

itswinetime · 18/05/2019 21:05

I have just been catching up on the photos of today and wondered who was wearing the blue dress....the designer...is she wearing something she designed because that is awful.

I liked the cut of the brides dress not sure on the fabric some pictures it looks a bit to busy but that might be different in person.

I liked Beatrice's outfit apart from the white hat that was an odd colour choice a headband like everyone else or navy would have been better.

The queen looked lovely I thought, I do like her in the stronger colours Prince Philip looked well to.

Daisypie · 18/05/2019 21:15

Gabriella made a beautiful bride. The Queen looked lovely. Beatrice inappropriate.

escapade1234 · 18/05/2019 21:16

Interesting about curtseying and line of precedence etc. So, if she’d gone alone, would Kate have sat further away from the Queen inside the church than she usually does? I mean, without Charles, Camilla and William, would Harry have been next most senior? Would Kate havr arrived before the other royals?

yellowalstroemeria · 18/05/2019 21:20

Zenouska is a lovely name

Oh I'm well taken with Flora Ogilvy. She sounds like a 1920s Scottish heroine heiress who lives romantically in a tumbledown castle.

hotcrossbun4321 · 18/05/2019 21:21

@beanaseireann and others - I agree re. Freddie W looking a bit scary.

I have to say I was a little surprised at the size of the wedding given how far down the succession she is. I find it very hard to keep up with who's who when it comes to the Oligvies/Kents x2 and Gloucesters!

Don't want to out myself but a friend met E recently and didn't comment on her being noticeably pg.

I wasn't wowed by the dress - fabric a little too busy for something lacking structure. Lovely colour on the queen.
