So be honest and let me know what you think. Also what would you think if you saw this on someone? Who do you think would wear this to a wedding? Eg age etc

@Alwayscheerful Yes that's another beautiful dress! If you have the right skin tone though..
What colour hair and skin tone do you have?

Atalune · 29/04/2019 15:32

The last one you showed in the dusky blue is really lovely! Very chic.

I felt like my comments were a bit heavy handed earlier and I want to clarify that you DONT have a big bum, but the pleats and position of that dress wasn’t doing you any favours.

Atalune · 29/04/2019 15:36

@always I love it, the only thing maybe to consider is shoes— I wonder if it’s an outdoor wedding you would need a wedge and if a wedge would ruin that dress? Or a block heel would work.
I do love it- what’s your colouring like?

pineapplepatty · 29/04/2019 15:40

If you really love it maybe try it in a size smaller? It might be more flattering.

Bellsandwhistle · 29/04/2019 15:43

Love the tb in green. Very Megan
Markle - hope that’s a compliment!! Agree would need block heels - maybe tan?

Pineapple couldn’t get into a size smaller! Is very fitted round waist.

*Sunshining thanks for your virtual shopping!!

I don’t think it looks bridal. If you wore that to my wedding, I wouldn’t be bothered at all. My SIL wore white to mine and I didn’t bat an eyelid - she didn’t have a bunch of flowers, a ‘proper’ hair do or a face full of make-up so she very clearly wasn’t the bride.

Alwayscheerful · 29/04/2019 15:53

@Bellsandwhistle
I have block heels in tan!
Do you think a Clutch bag?

Alwayscheerful · 29/04/2019 15:56

@TheSunIsShining19 and @Atalune
I think I am winter jewel, hourglass dark hair, I wear a lot of soft greens but look dreadful in brown.

Moondancer73 · 29/04/2019 15:58

I think it's beautiful, not too bridal if the bride is having a very bridal dress if that makes sense.
Maybe coloured accessories but go for it.

notatwork · 29/04/2019 16:03

I know you are returning it OP but I was busy searching this image as it's a similar shape. perhaps look out for some 40s/50s styles if you like this one?

always yes a tan clutch

wowfudge · 29/04/2019 16:25

Don't send it back OP - it looks lovely on and you'll look nothing like the bride in her dress. I don't get the level of outrage from some on this thread. We've a cousin (Irish) who shares your sense of style and I could see her wearing that dress! As a wedding guest, not the bride.

Tavannach · 29/04/2019 16:59

I like the blue Reiss dress.

too pale?

too asymmetric?

too informal-ish?

too restrained?

Bellsandwhistle · 29/04/2019 17:58

tavannach
1 live navy big maybe not for July wedding unless o was dying about the dress
2 nice enough but not loving it plus prefer not patterned
3 would be horrendous on me amd show lumps and bumps!! Can’t wear that shape at all.
4 nice enough but patterned and not wow. Do like rixo though and I know usually patterned.

Tavannach · 29/04/2019 19:54

The first one should be the pale pink version, but the link goes to the dark dress automatically. The pale pink is lovely imo.

Bellsandwhistle · 29/04/2019 22:03

Can’t wear that colour of pink as drains me. Also I don’t think it’s dressy enough!

Carla Ruiz? I've worn her outfits to weddings as a guest. ( and I wasn't the MOB).
Modern and often come with a jacket.
This?

Like the first but not the other two but thanks.

Think I’ll avoid any wedding or occasion boutiques now!

NeverTalksToStrangers · 30/04/2019 00:45

Tavannach This is what we were talking about. None of the dresses you posted are dressy enough for an Irish wedding. Christening maybe. And a guest at a communion maybe (certainly not the mother of the child). It's a big, dressy minefield Grin.

NeverTalksToStrangers · 30/04/2019 00:48

Livvylovesgin I'm the opposite to the Op. I hated the first but loved the other two.
