Has anyone been left with scarring after plasma pen/fibroblast?

I had this done last week and some of the scabs have fallen off, only to my horror that instead of smooth fresh skin, there are indentations where the plasma pen were placed!! I'm so worried as I feel like I can't go back to work any time soon looking like this. Has this happened to anyone else and if so, did you manage to reduce the scarring? Makeup makes it even more obvious so I'm at a loss, feeling distressed, help! I'm regretting this so much.

I had to trust chemist. Mine was very sore and angry..i stopped using everything except dermalogica.. i eventually went back to my own creams. Dermalogica is expensive and i just didnt like it but it brought me back to basics with no soaps or perfumes.

mammylinda · 11/03/2024 14:27

Hi
I had this done almost 3 weeks ago and I have indents under my eyes , my skin is way worse after having this done and to make it worse I am getting married in June ,
nobody warned me that this could happen and I keep getting told to wait 12 wks
what is supposed to happen dents in my skin at wk 12 ! Has anyone had this get better and holes to fill in by themselves ? I’m so upset

A333 · 11/03/2024 18:16

My indents got better eventually. Use rosehip oil and bio oil. I think rosehip helped best. I got inflamed skin from tryin too many things..I panicked too. I had mine done Aug 2022. Sorry to say the 12 weeks I wasnt looking or feeling better. Makeup did disguise it a bit though. Looking back most people wouldnt have noticed the indents. I also cut a fringe into my hair..sorry to hear you are struggling. Ive been there and am now out the other side thank god. This shouldnt be legal.

MarmiteloverfromKent · 11/03/2024 18:21

Hi @mammylinda you are not alone. When I had this done, nowhere online did I find anything to suggest this treatment was like this, and I wish I had found this forum before I had my treatment.
Have a browse through the previous posts if you haven't already as some ladies mention they've had some improvement with various other salon treatments to help the skin rejuvenate.
I'm left with saggy eyelids the skin also has some indentations. For the time being, you could try blurring primer that might help fill the skin a little. And SPF all the time. I'll let the other ladies on here give some.more feedback.

Helenm198527 · 11/03/2024 21:15

@mammylinda Sorry to say but my indents have never got better . It’s 4 years on and I’ve had several treatments of microneedling and my skin is still ruined . I too wish I’d seen it thread before going to get it and I never would have gone ahead with it

JM80 · 28/03/2024 23:08

Hi has anyone had any luck with the scarring and indentations?

Maighnuad · 30/03/2024 14:06

No I’m fine

JinnJin · 31/03/2024 14:50

I’ve seen influencers advertising a new version of plasma treatment that apparently doesn’t do this, but the minute I hear the word plasma I can’t help but think ‘nope.’

Ninacherri · 18/04/2024 19:30

Can somone please tell me fibroblast doesnt leave you with scars. I had this under eyes 2 weeks ago and it looks so worrying. I dont have pitting but i have shiney red angry skin. Im worried its scarred

MarmiteloverfromKent · 19/04/2024 08:09

Hi @Ninacherri you might be fortunate and not scar. I was bright red and sore for months. It will heal. It's a brutal procedure that few beauticians disclose the perils of. My advice is to Dermalogica Barrier Repair or Avene balm, several times daily. It took my skin months to calm down, I won't sugar coat it. And the only SPF I could use was Heliocare. I hope this helps. Re scarring, my skin was damaged by the huge scabs that I was left with, making my lids sag. You might be ok if you haven't noticed any pitting/ golf ball look after your scabs fell off. We feel your pain on this forum x

Ninacherri · 19/04/2024 08:24

Thanks so much for your reply. How long ago did you have it done. Did you have under eyes done? Whats the skin like now. I dont have pitting just red skin with a shiny silky texture. The salon that did it have amazing reviews and results and I did a lot of research. Im just worried the redness will never go away and the texture will always be different. I would never have done it had i have known it would be like this. I also have no patience so the thoughts of being like this for months, or worse, permanently is terrifying.

Anjea · 19/04/2024 09:13

This procedure should be banned, so many people are left with permanently damaged skin. I have no idea how it's allowed.

MarmiteloverfromKent · 19/04/2024 13:30

Hi @Ninacherri I totally understand your concerns. The redness will pass. It will take time. I had mine done (eyelids) in January last year, and I think it was red up until May time. I had to have interviews during this time, too! Even needed to switch from red wine to white wine as that exacerbated the redness, but the damage to my eyelids had nothing to do with that, as it was already done. However, that you don't have pitting is really, really positive. And please ensure you use an SPF each day, to protect that new, vulnerable skin. I went back to the salon up until April and was fobbed off each time. They aren't interested, but it should, as the lady between our messages said, be banned.
Please don't worry too much, it sounds like you might get away without any permanent damage. Barrier Repair is amazing x

I live in the US. I had the plasma pen performed at my medspa with a PlasmaMD pen by a nurse and she had someone assisting her. I had this procedure two weeks ago around my eyes. It was like a mask going half my forward head to below/side of my eyes.

The day after, when I woke up in the morning, I was very swollen, I was in shock and looked horrible but within 3 days, resolved. They did say this would happen and was a good sign of responding to the treatment. They told me 2 weeks would be healing time. My scabs were off by day 9. I did notice very subtle indentations but they filled in as my pink/redness are fading. The Factor 5 serum they provided is mandatory twice daily. I will say, I was so nervous feeling I would never heal. Just for reference, I'm a Fitzpatrick III. I am happy with the results. I feel very bad for people who are having trouble.

I see on Youtube, people buying these pens (devices) through Amazon for personal use or buying them to perform on people. This device is no joke. There are devices which are not even affective to see change due to the quality (controlled burn versus uncontrolled burn) I have read. Honestly, this is a device which can cause damage if not in the right hands and unless these are certified and people are sufficiently trained with the correct device should not be on anyone's face.

MarmiteloverfromKent · 22/02/2025 16:59

Hi all,
I wanted to check in, as I'm now two years on from having my lids done (previous post with pictures refer) and felt like sharing an update.

Still my lids are super reactive to the sun, and any product that isn't stripped back..worse still, the overall sagging & new wrinkles now where the scabs were knitted together, clearly shows how damaged and fragile my skin is. The redness is in exactly the same place as the cornflake scabs she left me unapologetically with, due to the intensity used. Oh and I've also developed raised areas, making me look much older and tired than ever.

I feel so full of regret, and am still so angry.

Writing this here helps a lot. If anyone else has any updates it would be interesting to hear from you.

TDogsInHats · 27/02/2025 21:16

@MarmiteloverfromKent I'm sorry to see your update. I "won" my proposed treatment in a competition but declined to go ahead after investigating further.
I think you're providing a valuable service by sharing your experience, but it's dreadful what's happened to you Flowers

Crikey! I’ve just found this thread by researching fibroblast- I think I’ve changed my mind…

Don’t do it. I had it done almost 3 years ago and although the scarring has faded, I’m left with bad hyperpigmentation that looks like I always have a black eye.

A333 · 08/05/2025 23:09

@GrimDamnFanjo
Dont risk it..i did it 2+yrs ago. Im fine now no scarring but I went thru hell thinking I would be permanently scarred. I had pitting for over a year and everything I tried to sort it caused a rash due to oversensitive new skin. Honestly, leave well alone, if anything it made my appreciate my wrinkles
