Has anyone been left with scarring after plasma pen/fibroblast?

I had this done last week and some of the scabs have fallen off, only to my horror that instead of smooth fresh skin, there are indentations where the plasma pen were placed!! I'm so worried as I feel like I can't go back to work any time soon looking like this. Has this happened to anyone else and if so, did you manage to reduce the scarring? Makeup makes it even more obvious so I'm at a loss, feeling distressed, help! I'm regretting this so much.

@Maddogcow Thank you, I really hope and pray the indents will go away....

dar89 · 03/02/2020 21:59

I have exactly the same indents on my eyelids. I'm broken. Please write if you have any progress. I would like to hope that it will be better

Bahamilton3 · 12/02/2020 03:32

Hi. I just wanted to share my story too. I got this done in the US 10.5 weeks ago. I had my eyelids, under eyes and one wrinkle on my forehead done. The forehead healed fine, but the wrinkle is not completely gone. I have faint indents on my under eyes and the indents are very noticeable on my lids, especially under my brows. I spoke to my technician the other day about it and she said to start using Mederma. I’ve been using the Mederma for only 4 days and I’m already seeing an improvement. I’m not sure if it’s sold in the UK, but it’s a popular scar gel in the US. I would definitely recommend it. I hope this helps.

Hi
I had plasma pen done in sept last year. I now have dark pigmentation around my eyes worse than they were
I’m so upset Ive tried everything to correct it and nothing works
The girl that did it has said it must be because I didn’t follow after care :-(
Shh gg e says she will do again to correct it but I don’t want it again

Monique21864 · 17/02/2020 10:40

Hi

I had this procedure done on the 7th of January 2020 for the bags under my eyes . It was done by a registered GP after the procedure I was informed to just cover it up with mineral foundation and to preferably not wash my face for about 3 days. My scabs start falling off around day 5 and I was left with indentations where the plasma pen were placed. I came across this website and read that most people recommended the use of sudocrem. I immediately started using it and definitely saw a slight improvement. I went back to the GP and she did 2 sessions of "derma pen" at no cost and I must say it improved the scarring a lot. ps! After the derma pen I also just applied sudocrem. I am approaching week 8 and can only hope it will improve even more. I attached a few pictures for reference. Will I do it again? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Hope this help someone

@Monique21864 I thought of you today and was wondering how things are now? Has there been any improvement?

Maddogcow · 17/02/2020 14:00

Oh I cross-posted! I think it looks much better

Bluedog2 · 26/02/2020 22:56

Omg I’m horrified at these posts! I’m a beauty therapist with 26 years experience I’ve done laser for hair removal and thread veins for over 20 years and now have an Alexandrite Laser for hair removal and pigmentation treatment.
I’ve looked at plasma pen and it’s just lots of tiny burns! Which doesn’t make sense to me! All therm posts just confirm my instinct that it’s just that and it’s totally flawed and sadly often fine by inexperienced people and it should be banned! If you’re in the uk there is a scar reduction gel that works called Apothoderm that’s worth using as early on as you can. Just sayin....

Bluedog2 · 27/02/2020 07:11

Try getting some Apothoderm Sevareid recovery gel it worked for a client of mine on her foot scars after surgery Smile

@pippilotta1001 I'm quite offended by your comment regarding if a medic is not doing it then stay away. I am a qualified and insured Aesthetician and I have a level 2, 3 and 4 Nvq which took 3 years to complete, I have a degree in an unrelated subject (History & Politics) and I'm studying for a masters (in child psychology) and I've completed 4 courses on top of my A'levels, Nvq and degree and qualified to carry out botox, Dermal Fillers, profilho and aqualyx. I am a non medic looking in to this treatment and I have spent thousands on studying for these courses, paying for insurance and paying to be put on registers to say I am accredited.
Everyone please note when I did my training in botox, fillers, profilho and aqualyx I did the training with docotors and nurses and all of them had never used a needle on a face and had absolutely no experience of using any botox, filler, Profhilo or aqualyx on the face or body prior to being on the course. Therefore my technique was sometimes better, mainly because I have done more courses than some of them specific to injectables. The only thing they were able to do that I was not (but will be after doing an MA) is prescribing and also they had a more in depth knowledge regarding physiology and anatomy and medicines. However, this has nothing to do with the plasma pen. The plasma pen is similar to using a mini laser machine like many beauty therapists do, so your argument is completely flawed. If you and I were both to use a laser machine (which is part of level 4) I would know the settings, application, contra actions and indications, skin, hair and follicle types it would and would not work on better than you, so please think before you comment in future.

notapizzaeater · 01/03/2020 20:24

I’m 5 days into my eyelids being done, the scabs have just started to fall off. I was told no makeup so I’ve left it uncovered.

PerfidiousAlbion · 01/03/2020 21:52

The Med Spa I use launched this and then quickly withdrew it. My friend who works there told me they’d had several complaints (including staff who’d used it). Just the latest in a long line of gimmicks in poorly trained hands. If you type #plasmapen into Insta, you don't see many ‘six months later’ pictures, they’re all immediately after, or, heavily airbrushed or with the contrast turned right down. It reminds me of Ultherapy and the awful results from that.

mykr64 · 09/03/2020 01:31

Sorry but I agree with pippilotta1001. Unless you have a medical degree then you shouldn't be injecting or using lasers. The problem is that there's no restrictions on who can inject or use lasers. Sorry but a 2 to 5 day training course doesn't make you qualified. Either does a degree in psychology. Perhaps you can use your psychology degree to counsel people after they've been disfigured by someone pretending to be an expert in aesthetics!

Sammi38 · 09/03/2020 07:14

Does anyone know if the plasma pen is the same as a plasma shower? My dd may have some treatment with plasma shower due to her acne at some point. The woman we go to is a doctor and has been doing this for years, I’ve had a few treatments so I have confidence in her, it’s just always good to know what the complications may be.

Thank you.

MrsSta · 09/03/2020 21:57

@mykr64 lasers are never done by doctors FYI which is what we are talking about, not injectables. The counselling comment is just petty. Grow up.

MrsSta · 09/03/2020 22:35

I've seen a Dr do laser hair removal... To do Laser hair removal is a level 4 nvq and is a years study not quite '4/5 days' as you've said. Take some time to research what you are posting, as you are misinformed and now you look silly. @mykr64

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 09/03/2020 23:35

Oh gosh, I'm so glad I came across this thread. I only found out about this treatment via Instagram. Does anyone follow MirandaHolderLDN on there? She had this done (free of charge I believe as she's an influencer) and I was horrified to see her face after and how extensive the initial damage was. Screen shot from her stories that I sent my sister lol. I never would have thought the treatment may lead to so many scars and uneven skin. Now I'm wondering if she's been left with the same thing?

Has anyone been left with scarring after plasma pen/fibroblast?
PerfidiousAlbion · 10/03/2020 21:05

I dont know but it doesnt look good. That’s a huge treatment area.

computergirl · 10/06/2020 12:06

I perform this treatment. I am a qualified advanced beauty therapist but not a doctor. I use a light touch and a very, very fine needle. None of my clients have been left with indentations.

computergirl · 10/06/2020 12:09

Here are the results on my own skin, two treatments, two years apart, upper and lower eyelids.

I haven't posted in this thread since when I created it!

Those results look wonderful. I guess it isn't necessarily a problem with the treatment but a matter of skill?

I unfortunately still have the scarring has improved a lot but it is still visible :( I've been through several microneedling sessions and have been taking collagen supplements.

It's still so unfair that I had to go through all this...

I had Fibroblast treatment all over my face...I'm 5 weeks and have indents where every scab was....I'm modified...Have spoken with the lady who did it, and she is lending me a LED mask as she said it will quicken up the healing process...I will keep you informed !!!! Today I'm off to see a private Dermatologist to see if my face is permanently scared... Gutted is an understatement Shock

Tilly2269 · 06/07/2020 06:24

I'm into my 5th week now after my fibroblast. I had my whole face done and where every scab was has left an indent, so now my whole face is covered in pitting.
I went to see a Dermatologist and she was as mortified as me. She has told me to wear a Factor 50+ during the day and of a night use Retincare. After seeing her I went to see the lady who did the procedure and she just said give it time they will go, lent me a LED mask and gave me a mild chemical peel to use...there is no way I will put this on my face !!! Now it's a waiting game, but I believe I will now have to live with this for the rest of my life. The dermatologist has taken photos and I have to see her in another 2 months to see if there is any improvement....it's now costing me a fortune in lotions and potions, also living in Spain I have had to go private with the Dermatologist..can anyone reassure me and say they will eventually go 😭😭

Hi! I am the one who created this thread so I know exactly how you feel! I sympathise with you. It is awful.

I HIGHLY recommend taking a collagen supplement. I have been taken Neocell for the past 2 months and I have seen a HUGE improvement. Sometimes our body just needs a little help.

Taking collagen has honestly changed my life. My scars are becoming gradually less pitted and therefore less noticeable.

Of course, make sure that the supplement is suitable for you first, but honestly it has been the only thing that has actually helped significantly. I couldn't believe the progress in such a little amount of time.

The sooner you start taking them, the better, as your fibroblast was quite recent.

Hi thank you for responding to my message . As living in Spain it is sometimes quite difficult to get certain products, and ordering of Amazon you never really know if you are getting the real thing. Where did you purchase your Neocell from 👍
