Has anyone been left with scarring after plasma pen/fibroblast?

I had this done last week and some of the scabs have fallen off, only to my horror that instead of smooth fresh skin, there are indentations where the plasma pen were placed!! I'm so worried as I feel like I can't go back to work any time soon looking like this. Has this happened to anyone else and if so, did you manage to reduce the scarring? Makeup makes it even more obvious so I'm at a loss, feeling distressed, help! I'm regretting this so much.

I’m nearly 2 years since the procedure and still have the scars.

MarmiteloverfromKent · 14/03/2023 11:57

Hi Scarred2022, did you try and get any money back or receive an apology from the salon?

Scarred2022 · 14/03/2023 12:24

She refused to acknowledge the scarring even though I had pictures and had a skin scan that highlighted it. She refused to discuss a way to settle. I tried to go down the legal route but apparently the industry isn’t vetted as much as it should be and no solicitor could help me.

MarmiteloverfromKent · 14/03/2023 18:04

I know a company who have asked me for pics up until 12 weeks and will then assess it. If you would like their details let me know and I'll send you directly.

You don't even know how I understand you. 😪 4 weeks after my bottom eyelids plasma and look like someone punched me causing black eye. Red circles and pitting. I am devastated . I looked better before. I wish I saw this forum before

She said also that it took her years doing NVQs. Diploma 1,2,3,4 are 12 months job. You need to know human physiology including every muscle and anatomy in detail to do things safe. Nvq at any level will not go to such a extent ... She knows nothing but being very full of herself

Hey guys, so its been like almost 3 months since my first fibro procedure in one small area (near mouth), and more than 2 months in the under eye area near outside corners. For the beginning we did just test-sample on small areas bcs I warned that my skin is sensitive and not very powerful in terms of healing and recovery. I'm very glad we did only tests bcs after all this time marks still visible and healing very very slowly, even the doctor is surprised why its like this. Perhaps my case is not very standard bcs I have certain preexisting condition, I think that the positive effect all-in-all took its place (I don't have wrinkling there anymore) but the fact it takes too much time to heal... marks fading super slowly; maybe after another 3 months I can expect total recovery. So I guess this procedure is not suitable for sensitive skin. After some time I will try IPL laser I think it's better option for me

Puppylucky · 04/05/2023 08:42

Hi @NatNnn I'm so sorry to hear about your bad experience but I'd just like to say you have very beautiful eyes and that's what I noticed first!

Modda · 04/05/2023 10:27

Honestly this needs banning

Scarred2022 · 04/05/2023 12:03

Please x

MarmiteloverfromKent · 04/05/2023 12:04

@NatNnn so sorry to hear you've been through this. You have such beautiful eyes though - remember that, amidst the rest of it all.
@Schanna yes 100% this isn't right for sensitive skin. I have also found this out the hard way. I had this done in January and still to this day, four months on, I have redness. I do hope you heal soon.

My update is that, four months on, as I say I still have redness and now the eyelid area has aged. I have wrinkles on the inner part of the lids, and more sagging than I ever had before.

Of course, the salon refuse to accept this - saying how I should be pleased with the results. I don't have any - bar eyes that have aged 10 years and eyelids that can't be in water for too long. I have spent hundreds of pounds on sorting my poor skin out, which also likely has hyper-pigmentation now, so SPF daily as well.

This should be banned like you say @Modda .
So anyway, I am taking this further, as I am so angry about it!

Maighnuad · 12/05/2023 18:58

PJB7 · 24/05/2023 22:00

Hi there,
How are your eyelids now!??? Mine look the same as yours 😭
Red, sore and shiny!!!!!! Soooo upset. Have you found anything that has helped???? Xxx

RandomnMe · 24/05/2023 22:32

I would try healgel. Contains arnica. Helped with a three year old scar which virtually disappeared!

MarmiteloverfromKent · 25/05/2023 14:20

Your lids will heal, but mine have taken four months to go from burned to regular skin colour, waking in the mornings without looking pink and angry.
I would say moisturise with an emolliant cream. I found Dermalogica barrier repair protective, even Egyptian Magic Cream. Avene balm though is the BEST.
I would never ever recommend having this done but like most of us on here, we went through it in good faith!
Very very few resources online about this.

I find it extremely difficult to understand why any beautician would agree to giving you this procedure, you really did not need it. I am almost 50, I have enjoyed the sunshine, and my facial skin is showing the signs of this now. I went to a 'professional' who boosts of having 20 years NHS nursing experience, and was who first told me about Plasmage, suggesting it for my eyes. Five months later, I took her up on the idea, however what a mistake. First off, she had issues getting the right temperature, changing the temperature several times, then changing the tip twice more saying my skin was sticking to it, she even said she couldn't see where she has been, meaning she went over areas she had already done, probably because she didn't pull the light over me, because her machine was in the way. And now almost ten weeks later, my eyes are pitted. It is likely going to take a year at least for them to fade, I cannot believe she was so unprofessional. I have used her for Profhilo, something she can do very well, and something I wish I had just stuck to. Look worse now than before, and having to apply scar make-up every day, is just depressing.

Anjea · 21/01/2024 10:33

I can't believe this is legal. I keep see

Anjea · 21/01/2024 10:33

I keep seeing beauticians holding a one day course certificate up and saying they can now offer this procedure.

It's crazy

Franta · 30/01/2024 09:03

Any update on your healing. I’m 2.5 weeks and I have deep red scar for every dot she created. I just need to know if this gets better!

ScaredScarred · 30/01/2024 12:11

Sorry darling - no good news from me. I am 3 years in and still can see every little dot. No longer red have gone white but I can see all of them

A333 · 30/01/2024 15:12

I am 18 months on..my pitting is barely noticeable..i see it around my eyes in certain light but no one else would. I used a scar gel, bio oil but i think best for me was rosehip oil. I have shivers at how I felt at your stage. I was in a dark place because of it. Try not to panic..redness will go but its not as fast a healing as we were lead to believe. Still the biggest regret of my life but it does get better. Really protect yourself from any sun
