Has anyone been left with scarring after plasma pen/fibroblast?

I had this done last week and some of the scabs have fallen off, only to my horror that instead of smooth fresh skin, there are indentations where the plasma pen were placed!! I'm so worried as I feel like I can't go back to work any time soon looking like this. Has this happened to anyone else and if so, did you manage to reduce the scarring? Makeup makes it even more obvious so I'm at a loss, feeling distressed, help! I'm regretting this so much.

Omg. I m sick for you. I wish I hadn’t done this stupid God aweful procedure either. My niece said to have the eye lid lift surgery and said to make sure I checked into this way more. I wish so bad I would have listened to her advice. Now I look disgusting and my own kids are grossed out looking at the gross indent/ holes. 😡

Lilbabe · 24/12/2020 20:09

Hello all, its been a little over four months since I had the procedure done and it has been a roller coaster. Although my friends say they can definitely see the indentations improving, there are days where I am not so sure. I feel like some days I don’t notice it that much and some others I can see it just like in day 1, its awful. I went with a dermatologist which was not really helpful bc she hasn’t even heard about this procedure in her entire life (just as I imagined it would be). Anyway, she gave me a gel for the scarring and told me to wait at least 7 to 8 months and to use sunscreen consistently. I wish you all the best and I feel for you, this is truly awful, even though so many have told me that they cant even notice it, I feel extremely sad and mad at the same time because deep down I know that my skin is never going to be the same.
@pippilotta1001 I'm quite offended by your comment regarding if a medic is not doing it then stay away. I am a qualified and insured Aesthetician and I have a level 2, 3 and 4 Nvq which took 3 years to complete, I have a degree in an unrelated subject (History & Politics) and I'm studying for a masters (in child psychology) and I've completed 4 courses on top of my A'levels, Nvq and degree and qualified to carry out botox, Dermal Fillers, profilho and aqualyx. I am a non medic looking in to this treatment and I have spent thousands on studying for these courses, paying for insurance and paying to be put on registers to say I am accredited.
Everyone please note when I did my training in botox, fillers, profilho and aqualyx I did the training with docotors and nurses and all of them had never used a needle on a face and had absolutely no experience of using any botox, filler, Profhilo or aqualyx on the face or body prior to being on the course. Therefore my technique was sometimes better, mainly because I have done more courses than some of them specific to injectables. The only thing they were able to do that I was not (but will be after doing an MA) is prescribing and also they had a more in depth knowledge regarding physiology and anatomy and medicines. However, this has nothing to do with the plasma pen. The plasma pen is similar to using a mini laser machine like many beauty therapists do, so your argument is completely flawed. If you and I were both to use a laser machine (which is part of level 4) I would know the settings, application, contra actions and indications, skin, hair and follicle types it would and would not work on better than you, so please think before you comment in future.
This is the problem, totally unqualified people think they can bypass medical training with non medical degrees/ 'training courses' and then play around with peoples' faces.

I had this done on my eyelids and it left no dots at all, just redness and swelling. Two days after treatment my eyelids just look dry and a little irritated. No difference at all.

ANGRYMOM911 · 28/01/2021 03:55

To everyone and anyone that is thinking about the fibroblast pen or unfortunately has had the procedure: DON'T DO IT!!!! you will regret it for the rest of your life...I had this done 8 months ago, crow's feet, the whole bottom of my face, the jaw around my mouth. My face has so many holes, indents, and now more lines and wrinkles have appeared than I ever had. All where the pen touched my face. It was the most painful procedure I have ever had and my face has been scared for the rest of my life. I'm so depressed I wish I would have read the doctor's post before ever having it done. He was so right about heavy-handed not the correct way to do this procedure the crazy thing is I was told she had to be aggressive, heavy-handed to remove the lines. If anyone can tell me WHY hasn't the procedure been banned or at least stopped till at least everyone performing this procedure has been notified of the damage that would be done and there's retraining? As for me unfortunately to ever think of having it done over is nothing I would ever think about let alone trust anyone to do again. If anyone has found a solution please let me know. THIS PLASMA FIBROBLAST PEN/PROCEDURE SHOULD BE BANNED....I only wish no one else had to ever go through what I and others have gone through and have to live with the rest of our lives.

Hi.... I’m 3 months in with this treatment & my scars are so bad. I look in the mirror & just hate what I’ve done too myself. If anyone can give me some advice please please do. I’m so depressed about it. And don’t wanna look at anyone face on.

llpower · 28/04/2021 23:47

I still have indentations after 9 months. It took forever to heal. I was pink for about 2 1/2 months or more! Thank goodness for masks. I will be getting CO2 to see if my skin can smooth out.

llpower · 28/04/2021 23:51

I received 1 CO2 treatment and plan on getting 2 more because it helped the indentations a little. I need to give my skin a break for awhile, though. I hate how it sometimes looks in the light as you can really see the divots. It's been 9 months....it is a LITTLE better....but it's taking way too long. I haven't worn make up because of masks and curious and a little nervous how it will look once I start applying it.

Hi I had plasma pen on my neck 2 years ago and the scars are still really visible, I've had to fight with the salon owner to get her try to do something to rectify it, she kept saying that she's never heard of anyone else having an issue and I felt she was trying to say that it must have been something i'd done! But finally shes given me 3 courses of 'needling' which have been a waste of time, the next step is a chemical peel and if that doesn't work she said she will arrange for lazer skin resurfacing. Its been horrible and has really affected my confidence as I can see people looking at my neck and wondering what on earth I've done to myself!

ScaredScarred · 24/06/2021 09:52

Hello. Sorry to reopen this but I too have come to the Internet to find more out about the procedure I’ve had done…. Stupidly I didn’t research enough beforehand. I’m 1 week post procedure and I can see pock marks all over my eyelids. Can anyone give me a ray of hope? Maybe with some picture. I can’t believe I’ve done this.

alie33 · 01/07/2021 23:15

I now have an update and I am devastated! Having been promised by the woman who carried out the treatment that she would pay for me to have lase skin resurfacing she is now saying shes won't and I'm left with trying to find my own solution. Has anyone had laser skin resurfacing?

Has anyone been left with scarring after plasma pen/fibroblast?
princessTiasmum · 03/07/2021 22:30

I think you all need to sue for medical negligence
Go to no win no fee solicitor
I had to do this after an eye op went wrong,it took over a year to get sorted and compensated, but i won my case and the surgeon was actually struck off,as there were so many complaints against him
I can't believe no one has done this yet,as i have read so many bad reviews and complaints about this procedure

ScaredScarred · 03/07/2021 23:30

Honestly this picture makes it look way better than it is. Horrendous.

Hi everyone - as someone who recently qualified in giving this treatment I wanted to offer a little insight - (and yes you can improve your indents!)
It’s very difficult because - you can access poor quality versions of these devices online without any prior qualifications, you can also take cheap online courses which aren’t much better. There is a right and wrong technique, as well as bad devices - there are many people buying cheap mole removers (not genuine plasma) and doing these treatments without the proper training and yes - causing scarring and pitting.
For those looking into this treatment, check the qualifications and insurance of your practitioner first - make sure they did in person training with a respected instructor and not just an online course where they practice on fruit, I would also recommend checking the device they use is a genuine plasma device, such as the Plamere or the Louise Walsh device (these are not the only options - but are 2 of the most respected in the UK)

And finally - even when pitting has occurred, it can be fixed! Book yourself in for some professional derma rolling (don’t just buy a derma roller, you need to see a professional who has access to the longer needle lengths as well as the skills to use them) - around 1-3 sessions you should see an improvement!

Pitting/scarring should be a rare exception and not the rule - with a genuine device and the right training - as long as the client follows the aftercare TO THE LETTER - then having a result with pitting is avoidable in most clients.
Even so, the skin will heal how it heals and it is a risk of this treatment - and that is when you would then seek dermarolling and even better a combination of dermarolling and LED.

I hope to eventually train in dermarolling as well, so then if I have a rare client that has some pitting issues (hopefully never but as above, it is a risk) I would then be able to offer them a course of derma rolling for free to rectify the issue.

I also make my clients send me a selfie every day, to keep an eye on the healing process and make sure that they are continuing the correct aftercare.

I hope this helps some of you! Please feel free to ask me any questions xx

Disgusting that you may then need to pay for micro needling to improve on a beauty treatment you paid to improve things!
I have many treatments and thankfully have found this thread because I was. going to book.
I don't let anyone touch my face unless they are medically trained, I don't even let nurses (sorry) they have to be a doctor and specificaly trained.
Guy I trained with (non medical training) went on a couple of days course and offers this, begs belief!

PinkPanther27 · 27/08/2021 01:52

Just found this thread, unfortunately too late as I am 4 weeks post procedure with the pitted scars and red dots still.
Has anyone found anything that corrects the damage? I'm considering speaking to a surgeon if it doesn't heal in the next couple of months.

@alie33

I’ve had three sessions of laser skin resurfacing, undertaken by a Dr who specialises in laser aesthetics. Happy to answer any questions you may have - feel free to pm me.

Thinking of cancelling after reading this.

alie33 · 31/08/2021 22:26

@alianangel Hi thanks so much for getting back to me about laser resurfacing, please tell me its worked or is at least helping?

alie33 · 31/08/2021 22:47

I have finally gone to a no win no fee firm to try and get compensation in order to get the funds to pay for laser resurfacing, fingers crossed!

Good luck. You've definitely put me off. I hope you get it sorted.
@alianangel Hi thanks so much for getting back to me about laser resurfacing, please tell me its worked or is at least helping?
The results can take up to six months to develop so I’ve got a few months left to see the final results but I can see an improvement in my skin.

alie33 · 06/10/2021 14:17

New update, I've lost a no win no fee claim against the therapist, I'd thought as she hadn't performed a patch test that I'd have a good change of winning but the company ' Plasmage' say a patch test is not required! I've just written to my MP, the law is an ass! If you go to get your hair dyed its a legal requirement to perform a patch test, but it seems you can go and get your skin burnt and scarred and thats just fine!

Hi I had plasma pen done! The smell of burning skin I was told was normal so went with it! The pain after omg I had to go to bed and take pain killers…. The following day, I had never see. Anything like it my face was swollen I had no bridge of my nose it was swollen right across my sister came round and had never seen anything like it, horrendous! Messaged the girl who did it to be told it was normal and was I following after care.? Couldn’t go back to work for a week, wore my glasses to hide the marks and all I can say is what a waste of time and money!! My droopy eyelids are still droopy and I still have problems with the skin in my eyelids feeling dry like they have been badly burnt…. And it’s 4 years?!!
