Hi everyone - as someone who recently qualified in giving this treatment I wanted to offer a little insight - (and yes you can improve your indents!)
It’s very difficult because - you can access poor quality versions of these devices online without any prior qualifications, you can also take cheap online courses which aren’t much better. There is a right and wrong technique, as well as bad devices - there are many people buying cheap mole removers (not genuine plasma) and doing these treatments without the proper training and yes - causing scarring and pitting.
For those looking into this treatment, check the qualifications and insurance of your practitioner first - make sure they did in person training with a respected instructor and not just an online course where they practice on fruit, I would also recommend checking the device they use is a genuine plasma device, such as the Plamere or the Louise Walsh device (these are not the only options - but are 2 of the most respected in the UK)
And finally - even when pitting has occurred, it can be fixed! Book yourself in for some professional derma rolling (don’t just buy a derma roller, you need to see a professional who has access to the longer needle lengths as well as the skills to use them) - around 1-3 sessions you should see an improvement!
Pitting/scarring should be a rare exception and not the rule - with a genuine device and the right training - as long as the client follows the aftercare TO THE LETTER - then having a result with pitting is avoidable in most clients.
Even so, the skin will heal how it heals and it is a risk of this treatment - and that is when you would then seek dermarolling and even better a combination of dermarolling and LED.
I hope to eventually train in dermarolling as well, so then if I have a rare client that has some pitting issues (hopefully never but as above, it is a risk) I would then be able to offer them a course of derma rolling for free to rectify the issue.
I also make my clients send me a selfie every day, to keep an eye on the healing process and make sure that they are continuing the correct aftercare.
I hope this helps some of you! Please feel free to ask me any questions xx
