That's OK Buffy, I expected more from it too. I had first tried it in Liberty on paper and thought it was really nice, but it seems quite different on skin.

Would love the Very Valentino, will PM you. Is there anything else I can send you? I can decant Rose Flash, Patch Flash, Philosykos, Etui Noir and Samsara if you fancy any of those?

SOTD was the new Halfeti Leather that I got a sample of at Selfridges at the weekend.

I'm nearly finished my 30ml of pp by the fireplace but have a 50ml ready in my perfume drawer :)

SOTD is Folie Bleue by Maison Godet. I don't get any cardamom AT ALL, but lots of violet leaf, iris and a waft of lime. Not the kind of thing I would usually go for, as it's a bit 'proper' but to my surprise I really like it.

Remember I said I was on a perfume buying ban????

Thank you for my samples secret perfumista! I've really enjoyed exploring the histoires de parfums samples, and probably would have never tried them if it wasn't for you!

buffy, yes, it was Freeway. And also Captured by Candlelight. And also something else.

My wishlist is growing and growing. But the 9mls of 4160 are so easy to buy, especially when they're scent of the week!

My full bottle wishlist is: Sideris (MCG), La Douceur de Siam (Dusita), Eau My Soul (4160), Folie Bleue (Godet), Fleurs de Reine (Godet), ACDD / Maroc Pour Elle (AT).

What did you get from allbeauty buffy? I'm always quite tempted by the bargainacious purple Molinard scents on there.

And...Sarah must have heard my prayers because I too have 'invested' in SOTW, the divinely odd Freeway. Fabulous for the summer!

Sotd AT ACDD

SotD is Gucci EDP - thanks to Buffy . It's a gorgeous rich powdery woody oriental. The notes sounded incredible (orange blossom heliotrope, caraway, iris, thyme, incense, leather, sandalwood, musk, vanilla and cedar essence according to Fragrantica) and it doesn't disappoint. Style-wise, as an oriental, it is somewhere between Hyperbole and Chinatown, a soft and sophisticated floral/powdery heart on a rich cedar/vanilla base.

And just on cedar, this is 'good' cedar - the richest essence of pencil shavings. Not that really screechy/high pitched industrial paint stripper-type smell.

Have also been wearing Lulu Guinness having picked some up for pennies on eBay - it's a pure green floral with no base notes. Lily of the valley and sweet peas - really nicely done (prefer this to Tauer's treatment of lily of the valley in CpuA).

SOTD is Sideris. Suddenly, in the warm weather, I am getting mega incense / smoke! It's interesting, it works well in both kinds of weather but is quite different in each.

SOTD has been Cloon Keen Atelier Sybarite. Lovely, but perhaps I could have done with something a little fresher in this glorious weather.
