Apologies for the cheesy thread title.

Come and join the MN Perfumistas for gorgeously-scented chat (or Germolene and burnt frankfurters...)

Mother - it's boozy with a hint of sweet fruit and a faintly aromatic woody note, but in fact it's not deep, dark or dense. (I'm always looking for darker things to layer with it to make it more like Xmas pud).

It's very gourmand if that's your thing

Judy, I think I need to take my bottle of Chanel 19 Poudre along to John Lewis and test it alongside the real thing!

SOTD was Brocard Russian Princess. This is a Bertrand Duchaufour perfume. It has a beautiful sweet/sour fruit note alongside tea and woodsy florals.

I've got a nearly full bottle of diesel plus plus feminin if anyone wants to swap for anything else! It's a strange combination of milk, white musk and latex and it's not really my cup of tea.

SOTD is Autoportrait by Olfactive Studio. I am really enjoying this - what a cracker of a blind buy! Lovely dusty woody incensey benzoin; like sniffing old hymn books in church.

Captured by Candlelight is pretty gourmand mother so may perhaps not be your cup of tea...but I love it. It reminds me of my parents' house at Christmas - wood panelling, dusty velvet curtains, candlewax and brandy. And yes, I think you're definitely a perfumista

buffy, I've just seen your comment about swapping for the Valentino. I'm afraid I can't do ladylike very well at all, so I'm going to pass (weeps gently in an unlady-like fashion). I think I know the sort of scent and I just can't carry it off!

Oh I used to love Very Valentino Buffy, I was stalking eBay for some a while back. Will have a think if I have anything for swaps.

SOTD is AC Trefle Pur, but it only lasts an hour. I have the dregs of a Xerjoff Naxos decant on my desk so will use that up today.

Sotd Avon timeless

SOTD is Fleurs de Reine by Maison Godet (again!). It has really grown on me.

Ha I'm no lady Buffy but sometimes perfume makes me feel one! Actually see what you think of the La Panthere- hoping it'll be with you today or tomorrow- as I wouldn't mind swapping that. Think there's about 15ml left of the 30ml bottle...

SOTD is vintage eau d Private Collection. The previous two days it was Cristalle EDP. I'm all about the Oakmoss at the moment. DH has been ill all week after coming back from China and reckons he's got swine flu. This means all responsibility is on me as always. Hence I can't diet any more. Pizza is in the oven and gin & tonic in the fridge.
@Mother you're tempting me to order some Godet samples.
Very Valentino is terribly ladylike. I think I had a bottle at one stage.

You can't beat oakmoss in perfume. Gorgeous!

teta, the ones I've tried (Fleurs de Reine, Divinite very similar to FdR Folie Bleue, and Petite Fleure Bleue) are really rather nice. My initial reaction to all of them has been a bit unimpressed initially, then increasingly delighted with them as they settle on me. They're quite classic, high quality, and very easy to wear but not stuffy at all.

I'm actually very tempted to order some more samples myself. I definitely intend to get a small full bottle but I haven't totally decided what.

SOTD Clinique Wrappings. Have a completely rotten cold, and think I might need to ring in sick tomorrow - I don’t work on a Wednesday but if I did I couldn’t have gone in today.
