Talking of samples...I was wondering if anyone would be up for a Secret Sample Swap? A bit like Secret Santa but hopefully warmer...

I have lots lurking that I rarely/never wear and would also be happy to bung a small decant or two in of faves.

Of course you could end up with a load of stuff you already have, or really dislike, but you never know...one Perfumista's Pink Minger is another's Glorious Gourmand; one's Oudy Horror is another's Skanky Bliss...

Talking of oud...yesterday's SOTD was HdP Outrecuidant. Delicious spicy ginger and cardamom up top, drying down to a dark heart of rose and patchouli, and finishing several hours later with a rather filthy oud/sandalwood/patchouli base which would be off-putting to some I reckon but I rather loved it. Unfortunately I was in the theatre for the majority of those final few hours and I can only hope the woman sitting next to me appreciated it [eeek]

SOTD was Patch Flash, appropriate for the post holiday crappy weather. Was just thinking I wasn't going to buy anything this month, then spotted a decant of Lancome Oud Ambroisie on a FB group. I've been after this for months, it's obviously fate.

I'm up for a little swap Maud, have just ordered a few 2ml atomisers on eBay so I can share the love from some of my full bottles on here.

SOTD was Centrepiece (by accident, because I couldn't find Douceur de Siam, but in the end I kept appreciating it throughout the day). Went on a veeerrrrry long day trip around Kent with the children, compleat with National Trust castle visit. I am basically dead of exhaustion now (but Centrepiece lives on).

I am seriously contemplating Captured by Candlelight. Where's the 'bad' emoji when you need it?

Sotd was PP Le Labo Bergamot (22? Can't remember!). Nice fresh citrus cologne smell, good for a day where the weather can't make up it's mind!

I have been wearing Chanel No 19 a lot. Then I dug out a 90% full bottle of Chanel No 19 Poudre. I bought it a couple of years ago on EBay and found it so ephemeral that I thought it must be fake, especially as it was very cheap, although the bottle was definitely genuine. Anyway, I’ve tried it again. On me it has a definite iris top note with a short-lived Chanel No 19 dry-down, perhaps a bit more floral. On reading reviews, most say it doesn’t last, so I’m thinking it may be genuine. I have layered it with MMM Untitled and have really enjoyed it. It tempers the out-and-out greenness of Untitled.

Morning All. have been sniffing around some of my least loved this morning, with a view to a spot of eBaying, but I always a struggle to let things go...

O Oui 1999 is almost all vodka, with the driest apple/herbaceous notes in the background. Cousin of DKNY Women (which has much more upfront sparkle).

(Vintage) First opens with a huge blast of aldehydes, then smells formally clean (like expensive perfumed soap), before warming into a big floral animalic heart. Hadn't realised this dates as far back as 1976, or that JCE was the nose. LT gives it 4 stars and describes it as 'rich and humourless, an ideal perfume for intimidation'.

(Maybe I should hang onto this for difficult meetings?!?.

calm I have had umpteen bottles of 19 Poudre - my DP tends to buy it for me (boring story but we had had a huge fight, split up, then met to talk when it had just launched and I was wearing a sample). I don’t find it fleeting at all, but I do often wear it with 19 proper.

I didn't wear any perfume today and I felt weirdly naked. I also feel I can't commit to one signature scent. Does this mean I am now officially a paid up member of the perfumistas?!

I'm still dithering about Captured by Candlelight because it doesn't sound summery, but it does sound like I'd love it. Does anyone have it? Thoughts?

If anyone wants to swap, I have a 30ml bottle of Amberama that I can't wear because it makes me want to eat my own wrist. I think I'm not a gourmand-wearer.

Oh I'll swap the amberama for my very Valentino I'd thsts your sort of thing??
