What is up with the buttons on MM's coat?

They're so strange, aren't they?

It’s only about 8 hours. She literally has to show up and sit on the plane.

Maybe Camilla has a bit of fear of flying. Maybe she has circulatory issues that make long-haul flying difficult.

I have a fear of flying. Even in first class I'm miserable. I would be miserable on a private plane with every luxury imaginable. Because I would still in a metal tube 30,000 feet above the surface of the earth.

I am not sure it's permitted to stick anything on a uniform apart from medals, buttons, and other official insignia. Thus the cap band is the place to pin the shamrock.

Thedarklady the Irish flag colours would be completely inappropriate for the Irish Guards ceremony. They are not Irish in the sense of 'from Ireland' and Ireland is a separate state so the colours of the Irish flag would have no place in this celebration. The green harkens back to old Irish symbolism (pre independence) so that is fine.

Sorry, I thought it was a Saint Patrick's Day celebration. I see that the Irish Guards are from Northern Ireland and GB. They are represented by St. Patrick's blue shade/s and saffron tartan.

Zara doesn't really look like herself there and also looks like she got dressed in the dark! Taken individually, the hat, coat and shoes are fine, but putting them all together has resulted in a bit of a mish mash of an outfit. I like the colour of Meghan's coat. The buttons are slightly odd, but at this stage she's probably just going for comfort and whatever fits!

They all look quite sombre in the DM photos.

I think it’s a difficult line for DofCam, isn’t there a high level of expectation from Officers’ Wives? She’s attending as the Colonel’s wife so needs to be respectful of the pride the men feel in their regiment. New coat, beautiful hair etc completely appropriate.

I presume the RF were very low key at Lene’s christening as it was a religious family occasion & they were missing the DofE.

Camilla flew on ahead to Barbados apparently.

Apparently she needs time to acclimatise.
When they went to Oz, she flew ahead to Singapore for a few days.
I suspect she struggles with the heat/ humidity. She left a tour of Africa a bit early too.

The Daily FMail makes not one mention of Zara holding her stomach aka Meghan style. Will we get screaming headlines of “Is Baby No.3 on the way?” tomorrow?

Meghan's outfit does not go. The hat doesn't match with the coat and the coat is a monstrosity!!

I like Zara's outfit, her shoes are particularly nice. Her hair always looks perfect too and it's the perfect shade of creamy blonde. I bet she pays a fortune at the hairdresser!

Where was the christening? In Gloucestershire?

I love Zara's shoes and hat. I would sit on the sofa just admiring the shoes and never go out in the rain in them!

Queen Margarethe looks fab in that summer dress! I think she'd be a fascinating dinner party guest as she's been so widely educated and has so many interests outside of being a monarch.

I think Zara is just trying to stop her coat blowing open in the wind.

Zara is quite top heavy so needs to balance that out or accentuate it. V neck is her friend.

Meghan is so camera aware you can see she's always clocking where the cameras are.

CPM is the same, she's always looking at the camera. Her detractors of course claimed it meant she was fake and/or a gold-digger who's trapped CPF 🙄

I wonder why the Queen & Philip haven't been at the last 2 family christenings (unless they haven't been well, which is understandable).
Our Great Grandmother even in her in 90s, came to her great grandchildren's christenings.

The Queen was there. DoE - maybe he just went to the party?

Might just be the weather making them look sombre - it looks miserable in the enlarged photos, sleety and cold.

Hopefully that's all it is, and the DoE was waiting in the warm for the party to get started.
