I don’t usually have much to contribute, but some time ago I did see a court report on Tessy’s divorce regarding the financials. Mostly about who actually owned the family home in London. Obviously there’s a similar distinction in Luxembourg as there is here – what properties the Queen/members of the RF own as individuals and what’s owned by the state but the RF live there – but it appears that Tessy and husband were the legal owners of their previous house in the States, but not the one in London that they then moved to.

Diana did get a good financial settlement when she and Charles divorced, but maybe there was just more money in the British royal coffers than in the Luxembourg one.

Just a random thought, when they changed the succession thing so that Princess Charlotte was next in line after George. Why did it not work retrospectively so that Anne took her rightful place after Harry, instead the next one continuing to be Andrew, who is the Queen’s 3rd child and younger than Charles by 12 years.

Thé RF are not in anyway shape or form good for the environment. That they’re campaigning to save it is utter hypocrisy.

Seems a bit mad to have their admin set up at BP when they're based at Frogmore.

I presume the Queen has her staff at BP too.
Just seen the BP refurbishment is going to take 10 years.
So the Queen is highly unlikely to live there again....

Harking on about Kate’s McQueen dress from the other night.
I just found the original version from the resort 2016 collection.
It looked very casual initially. Both of Kate’s versions have been an improvement on the original

I disagree I think having the royal households based at Buckingham Palace makes sense in a way if Charles is planning to stay put at Clarence House. Buckingham palace may as well be used for something and housing the staff seems as good as any.

As for commuting do they need to? In the age of Skype and emails ect how much face to face do you need and Windsor's and BP aren't that far away 45mins not a unresonable commute definitely not helicopter worthy that's very manageable by car. How many people do that daily for work I do and I know others that do longer. I would definitely prefer to have some space between work and home.

Frogmore is Meghan and Harry's Anmer Hall it's a private family home. I get wanting to keep work away from that. And while Windsor May be logical as a base then there staff would be removed from the other households. Who knows eventually maybe all the households will run out of BP.

Harry and Meghan will only have one home; Frogmore.
They did have the rented place in the Cotswolds, but have quit that lease now.
I suspect Harry will eventually inherit HighGrove. Prince Charles has so many houses!
Despite the trying to paper over the cracks, I suspect there is a permanent parting of the ways between William and Harry.

I wonder what will happen to their foundation. Whether it will split into 2 separate foundations ?

I totally agree curly re highgrove. I think it will go to Harry. William will have balmoral and sandringham (eventually).

I think Buckingham palace will cease to be a home and will hold all staff for the royal family. State dinners and throne room appearances but essentially it will be a working palace rather than anyone's home. Charles has said he won't use it and I can't see William and Kate doing so either. It will become a public sector work building.

Charles like his luxury and comfort and BP is apparently a bit lacking in that department!

BP will probably open to the public as per Hampton Court and Kensington Palaces.
