@Fuzzy - No wonder Mr Fuzzy’s poor immune system is a bit miffed re the MMR shot! Hope he’s better ASAP!
@cherries, poo news re the car!!!

justilou1 · 24/03/2019 19:53

@cherries... Whoops, didn’t mean to send. I have a friend in NL who is training to be a weight loss consultant over there, but her focus is on natiatric surgery and lifestyle changes. You should see her now. She’s amazing!!!

FuzzyPuffling · 24/03/2019 19:54

My Fuzzy's goen back to bed leaving me with both cats. We've been playing!

cherries I think the point is that you are NOT a nutritionist...you're an "ordinary"(Not really but for the sake of argument) person who has been there, done that, and I think that is worth a million qualified nutritionists who have no idea about the psychological problems or superhuman effort needed to lose weight. You're always so positive here I think you'd be great.

It’s the actual, final day of the sale-that-never-ends today if anyone wants to grab a last minute bargain. Bets that it’ll all turn up on Brand Alley in the next couple of weeks?

ilovecherries · 25/03/2019 11:08

On train to Birmingham for a meeting. Wearing Bryce culottes (which may be the comfiest item in my wardrobe!), yellow Vickie jumper and navy biker jacket from Tu last year. Feeling happy and spring like.

twosoups1972 · 25/03/2019 14:44

Hi everyone, sorry to offload but I've just had some bad news about my dd. As some of you know, she went back to school about a month ago, was taking medication which seemed to be helping (and melatonin to help her sleep), and we agreed with school she would just do one A Level this year, and finish her BTEC in performing arts. As far as I was aware, things were improving, she was home for a family event last weekend and seemed well, happy and relaxed.

So I got the shock of my life this morning to get a call from the school nurse who was very concerned as dd didn't seem to be eating very much. The dance show is this weekend which is part of the BTEC and dd missed it last year due to an ankle injury. The nurse said dd couldn't dance in the show, she wasn't eating enough and apparently the Head of Dance agrees. The nurse said she needs to come home again and be seen by the psychiatrist dd has been seeing periodically. This was few hours ago and I'm still trying to process it. Spoke to dd briefly who wasn't aware she was pulled from the show and claimed she is eating. The nurse said that it's common for sufferers from eating disorders to be secretive. I'm waiting to hear back from the dance teacher to hear his viewpoint on how she has been in rehearsals. Dd will be gutted if she can't dance and it will affect her qualification. Another complication is that the school is closing after the summer term due to financial problems so she won't be able to go back to complete the BTEC there.

My mind is spinning and I don't know what to do for the best.

dontcallmelen · 25/03/2019 15:21

Oh crikey Soups that must have been an awful shock, I don’t really know what to suggest at the moment, I suppose you really need to get an update from the dance teacher & get their take on the situation & then look at options💐💐

dontcallmelen · 25/03/2019 15:23

Yy though ED suffers can be very secretive & it’s very difficult to gauge what intake of food they are actually consuming, which makes the situation so difficult for everyone.

Redandblue11 · 25/03/2019 15:42

Hello ladies, never posted here but wanted to ask if anyone has had experience with Hush Harem trousers? I am doing a long haul flight soon so I want comfort and style . Also are they true to size? I am normally a 10 in the bottoms (towards a small 10)
Thanks!!

ilovecherries · 25/03/2019 15:55

red, you need an XS :)

soups how worrying for you. Your poor DD as well. I can understand the school must be anxious about her at this point too. It sounds like bringing her home to see her psychiatrist might be the best option. What I would say is that no matter how awful it feels in the moment, education is always recoverable at a later date, even if it doesn't feel like that to her right now. I really feel for you all.

justilou1 · 25/03/2019 17:08

Oh @Soups! Your poor girl! Poor you! Wish words could convey properly how much I could reach out to you both and give you big hugs! (Or have a magic wand and wish it all away!) I hope you have some better luck getting DD the treatment she needs. It’s so hard to get help for ED here in Aus!
Thinking of you and sending much empathy!!!

Redandblue11 · 25/03/2019 17:18

Thank you ilovecherries, do you rate good the quality of the harems?
How would you wear them ?
Thanks !

dontcallmelen · 25/03/2019 17:32

Soups yy with Cherries that’s the beauty of being young, education can put off & picked up my gut feeling is, if the dance teacher says dd can not participate, then get her home & get appointment with the psychiatrist & see how they view this development, I’m also wondering if on a sub conscious level dd could possibly be self sabotaging as she is struggling with MH/ED issues & not yet able to fully engage with the recovery pathway, many many of my clients did the same as recovery & acceptance of the difficulties faced are extremely complex & it’s a process which can take some time.
Sincere apologises if I’m way off the mark, as obviously I don’t know your dd & just commenting on my previous experiences.

ilovecherries · 25/03/2019 18:28

red, I have found them very robust and extremely comfortable (I love the aimies as well). I just wear mine with trainers/sandals, a tee shirt with a bit of a tuck, and a boyfriend cardi. They are the absolute best for travelling.

SoyYo · 25/03/2019 21:22

Helloooo 👋👋
I’m sorry for being inconsistent in keeping up with you all lovely Hush friends.
I’m going to catch up with the thread tonight. My work last week was absolutely manic. 12 hour + days...which made me realise I don’t really want the higher grade in Paris so I slightly sabotaged it at the interview and hoping I don’t get called for the final stage (to save face as I know the future boss/VP very well and I’d hate to be offered it and then turn it down).
No fashion news because in between the crazy work I’ve become an all out Anti Brexshite activist and marched in London last weekend. I’m totally obsessed with it atm Sad
What else? My Paris meetings got cancelled this week which made me sigh a huge SIGH of relief as Eurostar industrial action continues and didn’t fancy another torture 3 hour queue at Gare Du Nord (but I have to do it next week regardless of personal pain).
Back later/tomorrow with comments after I’ve caught up with your news xxx

Huffthepuff · 25/03/2019 21:27

YES @SoyYo! Good for you! Thank you for taking a stand and being part of the March. Just hope each day that someone will see sense and we can get back on track 🙏 feels like it's tearing this country apart

neveradullmoment99 · 25/03/2019 21:31

Go you Soyo I take it you have signed the petition. Not sure how many votes it has but about 5 million plus it was last time I looked. Anyway in fashion news, I have kept the hortensa shirt in the zebra print. I wore it today with my black hush winona trousers. I love it. Although it is probably a tad bright for me but its cheery. I did order an apple coloured cord skirt from white stuff that I had my eye on and couldn't resist when it became reduced. Also bought a car! Second hand but new to me [just a nippy little thing to take me to work and back] but a sweet little fiat 500 in red with a bright red interior. Its very funky, so looking forward to getting it at some point this week! My current car is a 06 plate and is really on its way out although its done ok.

twosoups1972 · 25/03/2019 21:33

Thank you so much melen cherries and just

Dh and I have been speaking on the phone to various members of staff throughout the day and it now seems that the initial panic is not as bad as we first thought. Head of Sixth Form spoke to dd earlier on and reported back to us that, unlike last time when dd was very withdrawn, she was engaged and looked and seemed much healthier. She HAS lost some weight but she certainly isn't skinny and her BMI is bang in the middle of the green section. Head of Sixth Form has now said it's ok for her to dance in this weekend's performance. It could be a side effect of the medication that is affecting her appetite. But I do worry about the hiding/secretive side. Dd has been asking me to send snacks lately - healthy stuff such as packets of nuts/ porridge pots etc. Sometimes she doesn't always like the school food so she has things to snack on. I very much hope this is genuine and she isn't asking for snacks to reassure me.

twosoups1972 · 25/03/2019 21:36

just mental health services here in the UK are dire too. Really long waiting lists. I'm just so so grateful we have private medical insurance through dh's work and can be seen privately.

dontcallmelen · 25/03/2019 21:37

Oooh never I love love the Fiat 500, such a lovely looking car I wish I had a small little run around, we used to have a little Mercedes Aclass but Dh traded it in for a Q3 & I’m scared of it, as it seems so big & I can’t get a comfortable driving position in it, so haven’t driven for nearly a year now.

dontcallmelen · 25/03/2019 21:41

Soups so glad the news is much more positive.
Once again apologies, if my post in any way upset or made you worried💐

twosoups1972 · 25/03/2019 21:45

Not at all melen on the contrary thank you for your support. I just worry that dd can be quite a complex character and no one, myself included, really knows what’s going on with her. I know she finds it hard to open up.

Thedarklady · 25/03/2019 21:46

Newbie alert. What is this thread about? Shopping plus some general life things? I always assumed it was about the label Hush but clearly not. 🤣 Thanks!

dontcallmelen · 25/03/2019 21:53

Soups yy very complex, I think the key with dd is finding a way for her to open up, that is usually the most difficult step it’s tough I really feel for you😘

neveradullmoment99 · 25/03/2019 21:54

Oh soups I didn't read back. What a worry for you. Really hope things get sorted. I know its nothing like your situation but coping with mental health is the pits. My brother has suffered since his early 20's with poor mental health. Its such a worry. I really worry about it for my older sons. One went through a bad patch and was on anti-depressants. Fortunately he is much better now and his whole life has changed since then but sadly it doesn't take much to go on a downward spiral. Hope she is on the mend and you are so right about mental health services. They totally let my brother down and have done time and time again. So glad you have another way of getting help. Flowers
