@Never.... somehow I missed the baby news! Congratulations!!! South wonderful news! I hope the pregnancy’s a doddle and mum and baby are healthy, and you get squishy snuggles ASAP!

SoyYo · 07/03/2019 08:14

@soups I like mustard yellow and purple, but green can work too. They’re kind of opposites in the colour wheel and look good together as well as the neutrals (including grey) mentioned upthread and the tonal look of pink/lilac with violet.
I googled the colour wheel and this came up as good combinations so lots of possibilities:
Dark-violet: combines with golden-brown, pale-yellow, gray, turquoise, mint green, light-orange.
Never would have thought of light orange but I have a mustard yellow cardigan that looks amazing with a dark purple/violet dress

SoyYo · 07/03/2019 08:25

And @soups I like Boden Hampshire trousers they are made of stretchy fabric, very slim so would suit the wide striped top. Try when there’s a good discount on. We are the same height so go for petite for cropped length
m.boden.co.uk/en-gb/womens-workwear-range/trousers-skirts/t0010-nav/womens-navy-hampshire-7_8-trousers
They do in black too
Other people like Richmond’s but I’ve never got on with the shape

twosoups1972 · 07/03/2019 08:41

Thank you all, that's really helpful. I actually have a lovely mustard yellow jumper that would work colour-wise but it's too long and not the right shape for the skirt. Like the sound of grey.

Thanks for trouser recommendations, will have a look at those later. Soy are the Hampshire trousers quite thick? Are they too heavy for spring/summer?

Ellapaella · 07/03/2019 09:11

Congrats on baby news @neveradullmoment99 - how lovely 😊

oops new Fred! .. i need to catch up! ..

SoyYo · 07/03/2019 10:42

@soups Hampshire trousers are mid weight so in U.K. good for 3 seasons, only time they would be too heavy is summer.

Right said Fred! Grin your message made me LOL laska I realise your phone is causing typo error from thread to Fred 🤣 (btw hope you received my email)

Laska2Meryls · 07/03/2019 10:48

Glad to hear you re back home and ok ella i fancy the leopard Jayne dress for my holiday , but haven't ordered it (waiting for another code) , it does look short but the model is 5'10!! ..

never congrats on DGC news, exciting..

TwoSoups I think purple looks fab with cerise and also mustard (and black of course ) also blue, navy is good but I think the french blue colour as in the Helena would most likely work also ,

cherries I hope you are feeling a bit better and looking after yourself (and stop doing too much!!)

soy thanks for the inspirational post .. I am starting my diet PROPERLY today, have re-joined MFP, and dug out my old fitbit to charge up..

Just Lou from old thread, just to join in the awe at your photos

Laska2Meryls · 07/03/2019 10:59

fuzzy hope you are feeling a bit better today also ,and you also each

Hhello also to everyone new here ! this is a dangerous place to be ..

I am waiting for my striped wide top still , coming from JL , hopefully today ..
Lao wondering whether to dye my lastyears flowery maxi dress, I could sell it , butthen wondered what it wouldlook like in teal >> the black flowers would show through still, and the colour would be more me I think..
has anyone washed the Ryder (? striped) jumper a lot of us bought recently in he sale ? I've been wearing mine a lot over thelast coup of weeks and so must do so now .. Also mine had pilled which is annoying , as the dark colours show up on the lighter ones , cashmere comb has sorted that out , but wondering how it may come out of the wash.. But only one thing for it though I suppose ..

I am at home today ,wearing burgundy dyed striped amies ..I'm so glad i dyed those (4!!pairs) , as i live in them (hardly ever wear the harems these days ) .. Am also wearing my Pink cest ci bon sweat again, but ill have to change if I'm going down the shops for dye ..

Laska2Meryls · 07/03/2019 11:04

this is the one I am thinking of dyeing , what do you think?

Yes email thanks , (glad to hear better ews) will reply later ..

Laska2Meryls · 07/03/2019 11:07

better News!! (not my phone, my fat fingers!!) Blush

SoyYo · 07/03/2019 11:59

Grin laska good to see you in top form again and I like the sound of your dyed stripy Amies with cest si Bon sweat. I’m wearing my wide grey top with M&S leopard leggings (homeworking with some urgent deadline on)
I think you should try dying the dress, it’s a great shape and if it’s only the colour that’s putting you off wearing go for it 👍teal would be nice and also thinking of the purple love on this thread or even a deep fuschia pink which seems to be one of the SS colours. Do it!
I’m trying to be good with my diet today: cous cous with spinach and tuna for lunch. Glad you got my mail.

Talisin · 07/03/2019 12:06

Laska definitely try a dye. It’s a lovely dress but the original colour does make it look a bit nightie-ish somehow. A lovely strong teal sounds just the job.

Does anyone know anything about eczema, Ds is really suffering at the moment it’s in his ears & one eye has practically closed due to the inflammation & skin flaking, he has been prescribed numerous steroid creams, to no avail he has a GP appointment this afternoon is their anything he could ask for?
It’s also really ramping up his anxiety/stress which I know doesn’t help with eczema flare ups.

Ellapaella · 07/03/2019 12:39

@Laska2Meryls looking forward to seeing the wide striped top.
The Ryder jumper - yes mine has bubbled like mad, I've washed on a delicate wash and it was fine but still very bobbly. Very glad I didn't pay full price!

@dontcallmelen this is the cream I use for DS2's eczema- it's very cheap and has worked wonders. His never really responds to steroids but this has been fantastic

Thanks Ella will pick some up his whole face & eyes are so sore & inflamed at the moment, I wish I could go to the docs with him which is a no no as obviously he is a grown up & would die of embarrassment.
He is so quiet & very shy he won’t push for a referral/different treatment.

Ellapaella · 07/03/2019 12:53

You can buy that cream from Boots. I actually saw it recommended on a Facebook group I'm in while ds was having a flare up. People were swearing by it, I was quite sceptical but it's very cheap so I bought some to give it a go.
I only had to apply it twice and it cleared it up straight away. He's not had much since to be honest but as soon as it comes up I put this on and it seems to sort it.
Anything with Oat is also meant to be good. I know a lot of people swear by the Aveena oat cream as well but I've not tried it.
Certain food seem to be a trigger as well, for my ds too much dairy combined with hot weather will trigger it. Also if I use anything with string scented fragrance around the house - I can't use zoflora anymore as it will trigger it. Try scrapping air fresheners, scented candles or strongly scented cleaning products around the house to see if that helps.

I've ordered the wide striped jersey too like Laska. I'm having FOMO! And I am picturing myself in Rome wearing it with cropped black pants and a bright red lip and posh new sunglasses 😎💋

Sounds lovely ella please report back. When are you off to Rome?

melen your poor ds Sad I hope he manages to get some effective treatment. We never stop worrying about our dc even when they’re grown up.

dontcallmelen · 07/03/2019 13:29

Thanks Ella have heard that oat products can help as well, could also try less fragranced cleaning stuff, I’m sucker for scented cleaning products, yy dairy will have a look at that as well.
His skin never appears to be clear of it & has fairly frequent flare ups when it gets particularly bad, usually it’s his face/ears/scalp & sometimes his back, I feel for him as it really knocks his confidence & makes him even more prone to anxiety.

Laska2Meryls · 07/03/2019 13:30

Yes! Ella sounds very Dolce Vita or Magenta Deeine ( how sad that was to hear yesterday).. I wish I had the courage to wear bright red lippy, but as I dont wear make up at all it prob isnt a good Idea.) . Hermes man has just texted me , my stripey wide top should be here later today ..

Right Ive done it .. the Hush maxi dress and another top (Boden, white with blue embroidery bought last summer and unworn) is in the machine with teal dye . Too late to back out now!! ..
