Thanks for the advice re jumpsuit - I too can remember the naked in the loo in nightclubs in the dim and distant past. I'm quite small and Hush sizing can be problematic for me so we'll see. I've just had a text to say it's been delivered so hopefully I'll be able to let you know if it's a yes or not. I may not try on until Sunday though as will be rushing round like a mad thing tonight as off to the march in London early tomorrow

grannycake · 22/03/2019 15:05

Ok. As you can tell I'm a rubbish photographer and my bedroom is a mess. I like the material and I don't have a problem with the back but does it look too big. I quite like loose/baggy but not so much in trousers?

Its looks fabulous on you. Is it quite low cut? Its quite hard to tell in the picture. It doesn't look too big.

neveradullmoment99 · 22/03/2019 15:36

It looks perfect on the shoulders.

twosoups1972 · 22/03/2019 16:33

sheep great jeans, what a good find. And what a lovely dh to buy them for you. Hope you are feeling better today.

twosoups1972 · 22/03/2019 16:35

laska I agree with you about jumpsuits from a practicality perspective. Some toilets are so COLD, I'm freezing even without half undressing!

fuzzy the turquoise dress is gorgeous, where is it from?

twosoups1972 · 22/03/2019 16:38

miffy the MV dress is lovely, with the 15% off it won't be that expensive. I think if you wear something a lot, it's worth it. Looks classy and elegant.

What's your itinerary for SA? Dh and I went for our honeymoon many years ago. We did Cape Town, Paarl, Garden Route, Plettenberg...ending up in Port Elizabeth. Then we did a 3 night safari in Kruger. Was a fab holiday and I'd love to go back.

Laska2Meryls · 22/03/2019 16:41

I think it looks great grannycakes

I just walked down to the ferry to meet DH , its a lovely walk about 2.5 miles down the old railway track by the river, then he said he was on a later boat.. so I wandered around the town , (its a sailing town ,v popular for second homers and Yotties and so full of lovely little shops and some really nice boutique-y clothes shops selling lovely stuff like Emily and Fin and Two Danes..etc etc.. and they had sales on ...

Didn't buy a thing Halo -tbh though I wouldn't have got my norks in quite a lot of the designer stock- (a prob cherries wont have now!!) Smile

twosoups1972 · 22/03/2019 16:46

Sounds a nice day laska, was the sun shining on IOW today? It's cloudy here in London. I'd love to to back to IOW one day, we had a holiday there years ago when the dc were small. Stayed in Ventor and couldn't believe how warm it is there!

Laska2Meryls · 22/03/2019 17:01

No it was dull, twosoups but nice , mild and no wind. Its a woodland/ river walk down the Yar river to Yarmouth, and by mudflats, lots of birds on the saltpans . Primroses and celandines out , new leaves budding and catkins on the trees , Really nice.

Ventnor has its own micro-climate, some amazing botanical gardens there !,

If any of you are thinking of coming over , let me know! Smile

grannycake · 22/03/2019 17:03

Thanks everyone. I do like it and will put up with naked peeing. It's not too low although the button fastening is a little flimsy. I wear cami bras anyway from M&S which are great and comfy so not a problem. I reckon it could be dressed down with a denim jacket but I want it for meals/drinks out when on hols

Ellapaella · 22/03/2019 19:25

@grannycake I love the jumpsuit, looks really nice and love the sandals - are they also Hush?

not it is a referral code that I plan to use ;) I have one if you need one and happen to have a new email address! I have been meaning/trying to use this code for ages but nothing has totally grabbed me, think the aster skirt might be the one to do it.

soups we are very fortunate to have family living in SA, right beside Kruger in fact. We spent 2 weeks there and a week in Cape Town in 2009, then 2 weeks in Kruger in 2014, and now we are going back again. I turn 50 later (waaaay later!) this year and instead of having a big party I decided we would have a family holiday there.
Our family members are treating us to 3 nights in the park in a camp called Pafuri, which is right on the border of Mozambique and Zimbabwe. Then we will spend a few days in their house which is casual, lazy and luxurious. And with LOTS of wandering animals on the property (outside their protective fences, of course). They have recently spotted lions outside the house and even a leopard!!! Finally we will spend a few days in another camp closer to the bottom of Kruger Park and then we will drive back to the airport. I cannot wait. It is our children's favourite holiday destination ever. I just find it incredibly relaxing. Up early, and early to bed. Lots of reading, good food and great company.

On the Tshirt front, I picked up a few in Gap today:

This in white and black:

Gap tshirts

And these in green and black:

More Gap tshirts

I might also order this from Oasis - it got good reviews by the blogger Helen/40plusnotgivingupyet:

Oasis scoopneck

As you can see, scoopnecks and V necks are my neckline of choice :D

Ellapaella · 22/03/2019 19:40

@miffy2 scoop and V necks are my go to for t shirts as well and I love a nice white tee. This is the one I bought recently (actually have bought 3) from Morrison's (nutmeg so can be bought from peacocks online) for £4 each. Very flattering, lovely neck line, soft material that doesn't cling to lumps and bumps.

Thanks ella. Yes they are Hush - I've got really wide feet (1 is much wider than the other) but because the straps are adjustable they're fine. Think I will definitely keep the jumpsuit.

Was sorting out what to wear to the March in London tomorrow and remembered a blue jumper with yellow stars from a couple of years ago so I think that's sorted as well

miffy2 · 22/03/2019 19:54

@Ella that is a perfect Tshirt! Just what I am looking for.

I discounted looking for it as we don't have Morrison's here in Ireland...but I looked on Peacock's website, is this your T and if so how is the sizing? For the price it is definitely worth ordering.

Does anyone want a £10 off a £30 spend Boden voucher? It needs to be used tonight as expires at midnight. I've spent last hour browsing and really can't see anything I want, not even for DC.
I'll PM to whoever wants and comments first.

Miffy I'm a real fan of Gap,love their mid rise straight jeans and have a few of their ts now, , dont know why I missed them for so long, I always go i there when I am passing Gunwharf Quays..

grannycakes Illvbe with you in spirit!! and really hope tomorrow goes well, I am rooting for many thousands to be there and to sock it to f*kin TM and her lot.. I was planning on going and will be really sad to miss it , but DF and DB are coming over ( as you may know my DM passed away a few months ago ) and because it s a 'special date' for us as a family, I really need to do the family together/ cooking thing for them this weekend and so couldn't put them off ...I am now the only female left in our (v small) family , and sometimes it is hard because they do seem to need me more now.

Laska2Meryls · 22/03/2019 20:40

The SA holiday (and your family ) sound(s) really wonderful Miffy . I've missed when you are going, is it soon?

grannycake · 22/03/2019 20:45

Thanks Laska I wanted to go in October but couldn't so really pleased we can make it this time. It was TM's speech that finally decided me - how dare she say she's carrying out my wishes and she's spoiling all my motorhome plans as we don't know what the law is going to be on pets

Laska2Meryls · 22/03/2019 20:50

Actually thats not true , I have a lovely DSD who I have known since she was 6 (who I think of as my DD even though she is notand her mum certainty wouldnt) and her two daughters, (my two DGDs). but my DF and DB dont really know them, which is sad..
Families are odd things really/.. The person I call my DF isnt actually but my step DF , (I have never known my real F) and my DB is my half brother ..I also have an older sister (who is not at all D and hates me) Its all v complicated n my family...

Laska2Meryls · 22/03/2019 20:52

I have a motorhome plan also Grannycakes, I have saved for years in additional contributions on my work pension. Now cashed it in and am finally ready to buy, and WTFF??!!!!

Laska2Meryls · 22/03/2019 20:58

& not only the law on pets, which is bad enough, but travel , visas, and driving in Europe.. .F'n Brexit!! so utterly stupid (and there's the coffee issue, believe me, if I cant get my coffee, I am not going to be at all nice to know...)

Ellapaella · 22/03/2019 21:01

Laska do you want my Boden voucher? Someone needs to spend it for me and save me from myself..
