Tenby sandals

Ellapaella · 21/03/2019 14:41

@makemineapinacolada I think you'll love them - I have size 7 very wide feet and they are so comfy. It's been warm enough today for me to wear them for the first time and actually I'm considering buying a second pair just in case I wear these to death!

Ellapaella · 21/03/2019 14:45

@makemineapinacolada I've just realised I have the Heaver trainers not the Henley's!
But they look the same to me in all but colour so I'm sure you'll be fine and love them

Hello all - I seem to have fallen off the thread Blush. I need to stay on top of all the chat more, and thanks for noticing I've been missing...but I've been trying to spend less time online generally and more time doing work but today is a bit of a write-off, frankly. I'm feeling pretty grim and have a horrible cough, and I think the start of a cold. Plus really dizzy when I stand up. Grrrr. I'm spending most of the time drinking tea and watching the numbers on the Article 50 petition going up, while my tender sits unloved at the back of my desktop....

I'm loving the pictures - cherries -you look amazing in the blue hortensia - it really suits you! And I'm so glad you're feeling so upbeat at the moment, even though you are still recovering. I actually like the jumpers on you, though it's difficult to tell how they look in real life. The rose looks less big than the star - so if you were only going to keep one "baggy" one, I'd go for the rose (plus, I have that, and its a brill jumper, and I think looks good oversized...).

Other notable photos from the past week or so Blush are the star leggings from soy, which look fab (I also love the colour of the jumper but agree on the flying-squirrel thing...its odd, as I'd assumed it would be basically the same shape as the paloma which is gorgeous...but it does seem more "pouchy"...) and ella's trousers and sandal combo. And also never - I looooove the leopard dress. I like the jumpsuit too, but i know you have probably sent that back by now...I liked it styled with the red shoes.

nelly - on the jumper sizing...yes, they are crazy-big! If you're a 14, I'd probably go for a M, or possibly even an S (for the beatrice particularly, I think). I'm a 12/14 and usually get an S, though my 14-ness is around my bum, so it depends on the style of the jumper. There is a code for 10% off (is it SPR2019?) so even if they don't honour the exchange at the discount you may be able to get the discount with that.

I got another code which is 10% off with free next day delivery which is FNDS19 - but you need to log into your account to get it, so not sure if it will only work for friends of hush? may be worth a go, though.

makemine - I'd second the trainers - they are loooovely! I'm a Clarks 5.5 and i got a 6 in these cos i can't stand having my toes squished, and they are lovely and roomy. Not worn them yet though, as its still too cold here for canvas shoes! I also have the green linen jumper, which i do like. The colour is amazing... I think I got an M in that as some of the reviews said it was a bit short so you needed to size up to get the "slouchy" look. It's not the softest linen, but it is a nice shape in my opinion. I asked the same question about rayon a few weeks ago! I've not come across it before either, but the general consensus is that its really good for summer as it dries basically instantly, and is nice and floaty. i got the alvers dress in it and though that hasn't been christened yet, I'd agree with cherries above.

never -I have the helena shirt too, and I'd agree with laska - it is big... I reckon a 10 would be perfect for you, particularly if you are shrinking (well done! I'm not...I do seem to have lost a half stone, but not sure where its gone from as my tummy is wobbly as ever... pah).

soy - I'm with others in wishing you well (belatedly) for your interview! And ella - hope you're recovering.

My DH bought me some fab jeans from a charity shop at the weekend (as I'm not buying anything...but he could see i was drooling over them...) They are like these but black rather than blue and are great. They are really like the hush star ones, but with embroidered stars rather than printed. And a fraction of the cost..even new. Just thought I'd share.

Ellapaella · 21/03/2019 15:05

@NotAnActualSheep hope you feel better soon. Those jeans are lovely - I am a massive fan of Espirit, really good quality clothes for reasonable prices. Often quite 'Hushesque' as well.

NotAnActualSheep · 21/03/2019 15:49

Thanks Ella! Yes, esprit haven't been on my radar really and I soooo don't need another site to browse but they are lovely. They used to have a small concession in our House of Fraser, but I think that's gone post-Ashley.

dontcallmelen · 21/03/2019 16:18

Not aww hope you feel better very soon, yy esprit I always forget about them as well, shame they have gone from HoF.

nellyitsme · 21/03/2019 17:03

Thanks everyone I should have asked you all before I ordered anything - I'll know next time. I rang up hush and they said they'd exchange them and honour the sale price so hopefully they'll do that.

I'm a tall 5' 7 size 14/16 so I'll try the medium - to hide my fat!!

twosoups1972 · 21/03/2019 17:24

Hi everyone, I am so behind! Been busy with visiting family last weekend so haven't had a chance to catch up.

Need to look at all your latest purchases Smile

twosoups1972 · 21/03/2019 17:26

cherries glad to hear the recovery is going well, love reading your lovely positive posts.

The blouses look lovely on you, I especially like the blue one, so pretty.

FuzzyPuffling · 21/03/2019 18:40

I rather like this dress, but not sure if I'd get enough wear out of it.

Hushistas spring/summer Vol 2! Planning for the sunshine this way..
dontcallmelen · 21/03/2019 18:52

That’s very pretty Fuzzy lovely colour, you can dress it up or wear more casual with trainers/denim jacket.

miffy2 · 21/03/2019 20:19

Hey all! Cherries I am so thrilled for you, love getting your updates! To everyone else I have not spoken to here for a while, HELLOOOOOOO!!!

I have tried not spending too much on clothes this year so far BUT with a holiday in South Africa looming, I have had to think about what I have and what I need. For most days it will be shorts and Ts, with a couple of pairs of chinos thrown in for morning safaris and comfy leggings/harems and sweaters for evenings under the stars :D

I am on the hunt for decent V-necked Ts in black, white and neutral colours and hoping I will strike lucky in oasis, Zara or gap tomorrow.
One of the places we are staying in will require smart-ish attire for dining, so I will bring my Hush leopard maxi and the Zara grey linen shift dress I bought a while ago.

I did also spring on the MV dress I mentioned ages upthread. It is so lovely, SO expensive but I got 15% off and I think I would wear it a lot. This is the one (philippa dress if the link doesn't work in the UK):

www.mintvelvet.co.uk/product/philippa-print-utility-dress/20373

Aaaaaaand I am really lusting after the Aster skirt, which I can get for £20 less with a code.......has anyone got it/tried it on yet? I love the print so much and it would be fab with tshirts....if I buy it then I seriously have no more clothes budget for the summer (OK, even I am laughing at that...the season hasn't even arrived properly!)

Ellapaella · 21/03/2019 21:11

Love that MV dress miffy and very jealous of holiday to SA!

OP posts:
grannycake · 22/03/2019 05:27

Has anyone tried the Carly cropped jumpsuit? I have one arriving today

Laska2Meryls · 22/03/2019 07:27

Carly looks nice Grannycake What colour did you go for? I haven't tried it , but do post a picture ..
Miffy Well jealous of your SA trip. Aster skirt would be fab I think
Not where did you get the FNDS19 code from ? Does it have an expiry date.. Would be great if it is an ongoing Friends code (but we will have to petition for Ella to become one ! )

Laska2Meryls · 22/03/2019 07:29

Bye I am still sitting on my hands, haven't ordered a thing Halo

grannycake · 22/03/2019 08:34

Laska As always I went for boring black although was tempted by the pink. I am very short so it won't be cropped on me though. Not sure I'm brave enough for photo - only a very few pics of me in existence

Laska2Meryls · 22/03/2019 08:52

The pink is fab.. I had a bright pink one in my early 20s But still remember how annoying it was to sit in loos in just my bra! ( one particular outside loo in a pub in winter still sticks in the memory ) Anyway that put me off wearing jumpsuits ..

and now do course as a 'woman of a certain age' I find myself using the facilities much more often ....

NotAnActualSheep · 22/03/2019 08:57

Oooh yes fuzzy - I love that. Beautiful colour and really pretty with the tie thing. I suppose it depends on your "style" as to whether you would get use out of it. It would be a lovely "sitting in a pub garden with a glass of wine" kind of dress with a denim jacket or something over (as len says). Or would be great for work if your air con isn't too vicious. The only thing I'd be a bit wary of is the sleeves...I think I'd get annoyed by them in the 'height" of summer (if we get that this year) but that would really be the only time I'd be brave enough to wear it with ought tights, which I think is the look it calls for. I do really like it though...

miffy - soooo jealous of your holiday! Let us know how you get on with your elusive t-shirt hunt. I think everyone would be interested if you find the holy grail there! I think cherries found some nice ones in debenhams recently (kind of like the hush slub ones but about a quarter of the cost, if that...) - though not sure they had black? I also tend to find John Lewis good for that kind of thing, but I'm boring and middle-class like that... Gorgeous, gorgeous MV dress (don't get mistaken for a leopard, though Grin ) and the aster skirt would be perfect too. How did you get £20 off??!

grannycake - I tried the carly jumpsuit in the tiger print. It called out to me right from the beginning of the launch and i had to scratch the itch. i have to say, though, it didn't do anything for me. I found the fabric a bit shiny (the black may be different though - I think some of their things seem to be in totally different fabrics but the same cut, this year) and the "v" cut at the back was a bit flappy and totally exposed bra, and all sorts of other bits i don't want people to see... (though would be sortable with a camisole etc if I could be bothered). I think the issue was that I'm a total pear-shape and had gone for my larger "bottom" size, which made the top far too big - though i could have sized down to be honest. It wasn't a total disaster, and i did love the print, but for the £££ i thought i could do better - plus i probably wouldn't really have worn it much for the reasons above!! (Good for credit card, though). Would love to know how you find it, though, (even if not a photo!!) because I like things that others here don't, and vice versa...

laska - I got an email with the FNDS19 code - but not the SPR one. I don't think it's a permanent one - it just says til the end of march. Though I agree they may well get more sales with a permanent discount (once you've spent several mortgages with them beforehand, of course...)

NotAnActualSheep · 22/03/2019 09:01

yy to the loo thing! The last time I wore a jumpsuit i was on a train, and the electronic door lock-thing didn't work. I'm used to them being rubbish, and thought I could do my usual trick of holding the door closed with one hand while doing my business. However, I forgot I had a jumpsuit on, so I did feel a bit exposed sitting in just my bra, basically Blush - and then of course had to let go of the door to wrestle myself back into the sleeves and do up the back... I got away with it luckily, but don't think I'd dare that again...

Ellapaella · 22/03/2019 09:04

@Laska2Meryls YY to a petition for me to become a friend! Still can't believe I haven't got friend status yet - Boo Hush!!

OP posts:
Ellapaella · 22/03/2019 09:06

I love the green knitted hoodie but not £89 worth of love.

OP posts:
makemineapinacolada · 22/03/2019 10:52

I ordered the black basket stitch jacket recently as I always love the idea of them (think I've previously ordered the blue one) but I just don't get on with them I don't know why they always look frumpy and awkward on me!

ilovecherries · 22/03/2019 11:26

pinacolada, I don’t know why I keep getting sucked into trying them. I think it’s because they list them as jackets. If they truthfully described them as cardis, I would look twice. I’ve just sent the space one back.
