Such a difference in Kate between yesterday and today. She does tend to look a bit tired when her face is in repose, but she seemed almost drained yesterday. Could have been the lighting, though.

The celebration of Charles’ investiture was a bit strange. I realise there’s not a precedent for such. There seemed to be a rather downbeat atmosphere from the video I watched.

I’m speculating, of course, but I wonder if the reminder of Charles’ status as heir apparent, rather than just his title of PoW, might be to do with paving the way for him taking over more of the Queen’s duties. The Queen, of course, will never abdicate – she’d see that as a dereliction of duty. But maybe, for health reasons, she would assent to a Regency. The Queen is a very pragmatic character and what’s best for the country, in her view, is what she would do.

If that’s on the cards, it could well explain how everyone seemed to be a bit less than enthusiastic.

One I f the problems with the D&G dress is the obvious lack of pattern matching, and I don't think that is a design feature.

Paradyning · 06/03/2019 20:51

Leti look amazing. And what a fantastic cause she is supporting.

PeakTransedAgain · 06/03/2019 21:19

Kate looked great with the green outfit yesterday

I adore the video of Harry's speech and it was so cute seeing H&M on stage together.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 06/03/2019 21:34

Wow to Kate in the navy trousers and white jacket. She looks fabulous! (Didn't like the Cyprus trousers outfit at all - they just looked too big for her)

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 06/03/2019 23:40

These two Queens came up on my Instagram feed:

Maxima with her beautiful, expressive face

Poor Rania will not let up on the Botox. Unfortunately she looks rather vacant.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 06/03/2019 23:42

A bit of throwback.
Was looking for something else and found Charlotte Casiraghi looking stunning in Gucci at the 2016 Met Gala

How cute are the Spanish Princesses?!

That's a lovely picture of Maxima and Willem, Curly. I think they're becoming my most favourite royal couple.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 07/03/2019 06:33

Really love the peacock dress from yesterday, it looked lovely on her. And the diamond earrings set it off really nicely (how could they not?!)

I quite like this new 'uniform' of floaty button dresses but then again it's a look I would wear myself.

Just a theory for the trouser thing: I always feel more creased and saggy in smart trousers, whereas a dress seems to last the course of a day better. Maybe DoC feels the same?

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/03/2019 06:48

That's such a cute photo of the Spanish princesses @CurlyWurlyTwirly, they look like twins! Still do actually as Sofia takes after her dad and is already taller than her older sister.

I thought the old thread was quiet!

Paradyning · 07/03/2019 07:16

Love Max's outfit. I think she may have worn it before. It really suits her.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 07/03/2019 07:21

I think W&K were genuinely shocked when they saw the substandard housing in Blackpool.

Spudlet · 07/03/2019 07:56

I know a couple of people who've worked in public health and housing, and animal welfare in that area. They have some shocking tales. I do hope they'd flea sprayed that place because that can also be a real issue for some slum properties - colleagues used to tell of walking into places and finding their legs covered in fleas in moments.

That it draws attention nationally to these problems is great - that article says that they've been getting more 'political' as a family lately, and rightly so I think, given that the actual politicians are engaged in collective naval gazing at the moment.

Cams in a rare miss

Waves from across the room - here you all are.

We don't know what is going on behind the scenes, Louis might have an ear infection, Catherine might have had to miss George speaking in assembly on Tuesday - who knows.

I think that the floaty dresses don't work on fuller figures, you just look bulky (my mum was the same shape as DOC and I am not). They do seem to be very practical.

banivani · 07/03/2019 09:36

I love that kaftan on Camilla.

MotherofPearl · 07/03/2019 09:41

I love Leti's off duty look in that photo with her daughters Curly posted. I really think Leti nearly always gets it right.

I'm another one who doesn't mind Kate's new uniform of the shirt-waister type dresses. I always think she looks polished and elegant, and as pp said above, she seems to have mastered a really lively, engaging way of interacting with people.

Camilla is fond of a caftan or two but sometimes they look like very fancy housecoats!

curly I think most people would be shocked by the condition of that housing, so for people who live in palacial homes it must be really horrifying. They had to re-enforce the floor for it to be safe enough to let royals go into it - yet a family had only just moved out!

I'm now wondering if that's more common than I think in other parts of UK too. I live in an area where most housing is fairly new so even the very worst rentals are in better condition than that.

SeaRabbit · 07/03/2019 13:39

I have to say I thought, when I saw that they were visiting those places, that I hope Kate re-wears a few more expensive clothes in future and gives the money saved to Shelter.

SwimmingInTheDeepBlueSea · 07/03/2019 13:49

SeaRabbit are royals allowed to make actual donations themselves? I thought they could only raise awareness - although I've no idea where I've got that idea from.
