I don’t know if it’s because she is pg. but Meghan really should stand with her legs closer together. I’ve noticed it several times. She has a wide leg stance. Looks more elegant in beautiful clothes to have the legs together.

I know it sounds awful but it doesn’t look good. Next to Anne and Cathrine, Meghan looks like she needs to stand better. If it’s due to pregnancy that’s obviously ok.

itswinetime · 05/03/2019 16:38

I don't know if Kate isn't interested in fashion or is stuck in a style rut or what is going on but I think if she didn't care then why is she buying the same thing over and over again with a slight tweak?? Take today's dress it's almost an exact match of a previous! It's boring! Evening wear wise I like Kate she wears a gown like no one! But day wear she needs to either have a revamp or just say I don't care I'm going to rewear what I have!

I'm sorry but buying that dress when you've got an identical one in your wardrobe is appallingly wasteful.

Winter is coming @BartonHollow...

I think Kate does like fashion but is too mindful of looking classic and elegant. She should have a little fun. She needs brighter colours and less retro clothes. She would look amazing in a well cut trouser suit in a vibrant colour.

Kate's Beulah dress is a rewear from the Malaysia trip - it worked there as she wore it with a scarf and it matched the modesty vibe. Here it looks matronly or like a little girl dressing up. The colour is very hard to pull off. White stilettos are a bit Essex too (no offence to Essex girls!). Teresa May looked more hip, fresh and youthful than DOC today. I like Kate in midi length though.

DOS looks lovely - I like the shoes (nice but a bit big), the coat is beautiful and luxe looking and the brocade 60s style dress is pretty. I like her in neutral colours.

I like the Queen in her vibrant purple

Thedarklady · 05/03/2019 16:51

Edit - Kate's dress is not a rewear of the Beulah dress she wore in Malaysia - it's just extremely similar... But not as nice.

certainlymerry · 05/03/2019 16:52

Dobby I noticed that too. It doesn't look good.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 05/03/2019 16:58

My sister works in fashion and knows one of Kate’s designers professionally. Designer said Kate is a right laugh in private. Said designer was trying to persuade Kate to have her skirts shorter.
Kate said no “ the palace would have a fit!”

My sister said it wasn’t clear if there was an actual decree, or there was just an expectation that Kate should dress a certain way.
She used to wear some pretty racy stuff when she was younger. Slashed to the navel dresses, mini skirts etc.

itswinetime · 05/03/2019 17:00

But today's dress isn't a rewear it's a different dress apparently she has brought something nearly identical to something she already owns. Same as a coat she wore last week and so on and so on. I have no issues if she doesn't like fashion and so wants focus on the causes not the outfits but then rewear! Buying multiples of the same thing is an odd choice it's both boring and wasteful!

Her evening gowns suggest to me she has some interest in fashion. I think she is trying to become more 'queenly' and develop a recognisable silhouette. The queen has a look a style she has had for years you see it a know that it's the queen. I think Kate is trying to do similar but she's a) to young b) not picking the right silhouette and c) doing it in the wrong colour palette! She needs to go back to the drawing board I think!

Changing the subject slightly, did any one else know this?

Gordon Brown dated a Princess.

@QueenOfTheAndals

FOREVER ☠️

SlipperOrchid · 05/03/2019 17:20

I can’t imagibe Kate being a ‘right laugh’ at all...... polite and considerate and eager to please are what I associate her as being....

I think Meghan’s stance is a pregnancy while wearing high heels and standing for long periods one. I had a similar stance without high heels!

QueenOfTheAndals · 05/03/2019 17:24

@Rhubarbisevil yes I knew that. Didn't some brutish politician also date Letizia's sister?

I'll go against the grain - I liked Kate's look today, she has a silhouette she likes, and is sticking with it. Given that today was celebrating Charles's 50th anniversary of being invested PoW, perhaps she wanted to 'fade' a little and keep the attention elsewhere?

Meghan can't get away with it so much, given the pregnancy! But Kate is also looking towards the day that William is likely to become PoW and has those pictures to bear in mind. No fashion disasters taking away from the main message?

Anne's coat was so dull! The Queen looked fabulous though, I love the vibrancy of her clothes, especially with the polka dots today.

PineapplePower · 05/03/2019 17:44

Meghan’s brocade dress looked fab, so glowing! Great silhouette with the jacket, I haven’t much liked what she wears, but this outfit is nice!

ElspethFlashman · 05/03/2019 17:45

Considering after her marriage she wore such short skirts that we frequently saw the cheeks of her arse, I doubt her current aversion to short skirts is because the Palace would have a fit. Hmm

I suspect its just cos she's older and has gone off them.

rosewater20 · 05/03/2019 17:46

This is the best MM has looked in a long time. Finally, a dress that fits!

Kate looks boring and much older then she is in this dress. I hate the complete waste of having two dresses that look the same (the dress from the Malaysia tour looks much better). It is a waste of money and terrible for the environment. I do wonder if perhaps she sells some of her clothing or gives it away and that is why we see her in similar outfits to ones she has worn years before? I love her off duty looks, and most of her formal wear but her daytime looks need a complete overhaul.

PineapplePower · 05/03/2019 17:46

we frequently saw the cheeks of her arse

I’m sure she got an earful about it too, though, it was a real problem for a few years there .....

beanaseireann · 05/03/2019 17:54

Meghan looked great today. She's changed the colour of her nude rights too.
How does she walk in those shoes that are too big for her ?
Is Kate copying CPMary with a pie crust collar Smile
She never puts a foot wrong and is a real asset to William and the Royal family.
I thought Anne didn't look like a Princess- frumpy.
Camilla has worn nicer things, considering its her dh's big day you'd think she'd "go all out"

Thank you for the new thread QueenoftheAndals

rosewater20 · 05/03/2019 18:04

@PineapplePower: I remember that period and could not understand why it took her so long to remedy the issue. I am younger than her, and even I would have been quick to weight the hems of my dresses or not wear dresses made of flimsy fabric. Perhaps she was just showing off her nice perky bum! I do remember being inspired to increase my workouts after seeing those pictures!

hopeishere · 05/03/2019 18:05

I think they both looked lovely today!

I think you can be interested in fashion but still have a safe look. She is so conscious these photos will be about for years to come.

user1457017537 · 05/03/2019 18:06

I disliked Kate’s dress and I think she is worryingly thin. MMs coat doesn’t fit and ends either side of her bump. She is always attractive though.

Rhubarbisevil · 05/03/2019 18:09

TBF, I think fashion is definitely moving into mid-seventies vibe, so longer skirts, Laura Ashley faux-victoriana and wrinkly boots are de rigeur. We’ll all be dressing like this next year along with bell bottom jeans and stripey tank tops.

user1457017537 · 05/03/2019 18:12

I don’t think we will Rhubarb the look has been in the shops for a couple of seasons now and flogged to death. Women don’t want to dress in Victoriana. LK Bennett was full of it and they have gone bust.
